Chapter Two Hundred and Twelve
"What do you mean get rid of it?" The question came out before she could soften it.
Demir didn't answer.
His eyes dragged over her face, slowly, and then stopped at her eyes as if searching for something: anything that would tell him she wasn't serious. He lifted one brow, then the other.
His lips parted slightly, but no words came out. He just stared, his head tilting a fraction, disbelief settling into the lines of his face.
Then a short, disbelieving breath left him. "Have you lost your mind?"
Her eyes narrowed, but before she could snap back, he cut in. "Have you actually thought this through?" His voice sharpened, stepping closer again. "Do you know what my Uncle will do to you if he finds out?"
The words hit harder than she expected.
"And in case you've forgotten," he added, quieter now but far more dangerous, "he just ordered Ahmet's death. There'd be nowhere to hide. I wouldn't even be able to protect you!"
