Just as the silence threatened to drag on any longer, Claude stepped between them.
"Move."
His voice wasn't loud, and it wasn't commanding, but it carried urgency. Eros turned to him, and he directly looked at Eros, his expression as unreadable as ever.
"Etienne needs treatment."
There was no anger in his voice, only a simple statement of priority. Whatever beef Eros had against this healer did not matter to him.
Eros remained rooted to the ground. His gaze shifted from Claude to the timid healer, then briefly toward the empty space beside the former. Jade was always there, yet it seemed that the man next to him did not notice the absence.
His grip unconsciously tightened. He wanted to tell Claude about the voice he had accidentally heard earlier, echoing vividly inside his head. The voice that was plotting to kill Jade. And the fact, which he was certain about, was that the owner of that voice was standing right before them.
