Chapter 546 - Naming Process

Deep within the Astral Express, Sunny stepped out from the shadows. He gazed around for a short moment, taking in the compartment he entered.

The Astral Express was absurdly large — if Sunny were to describe it, it was as if a massive serpent infinitely segmented itself... therefore becoming infinite itself, in a way. Of course, the Express didn't actually stretch out indefinitely. Rather, the mystical train that once carried the Aeon of Trailblaze THEMSELF seemed to distort the space within it. From the outside, it seemed to be about as long as a dozen houses lined up, easily stretching for hundreds of meters. On the inside, however...

...Sunny once spent a day simply trying to reach the end of the Express.

He failed.

He had only been walking leisurely, sure, but what kind of train was so long that even after a full day, the end remained an elusive concept that Sunny's mind simply could not fathom? So, unless proven otherwise, he would assume that there was no end to the Astral Express whatsoever.

When he explored the Express, he naturally ended up coming across a vast multitude of things... which baffled him, a little. He would have thought that after the first couple dozen of compartments, there would be nothing left, but after passing hundreds of them, he continued to be astonished by the new things that popped up, traces of the past passengers of the Astral Express.

He wondered why they would leave things so deeply in the Express, considering the Space Anchor and entrance were in the parlor car. These compartments were technically miles away...

After pondering for a while, he came to the conclusion that things were different during the Astral Express' golden era, when the Trailblaze wasn't a masterless Path. Maybe they had Space Anchors all across the Express, or some other means of traveling from one compartment to another without making it a day long errand.

In any case, from the plethora of different compartments he encountered back then, there was one he found himself using somewhat often recently.

It was a forge... and a seaming station... and a carpentry bench... and a canvas—

The point was that he found the compartment where people made stuff. It wasn't too far away from the front compartments, either, so he didn't need to use Shadow Step to traverse a massive distance. Not that he minded it. This was where he went to craft Memories, so he ended up spending hours at a time within this workshop.

Pulling out some blue cloth as well as some gold, Sunny got to crafting...

***

Not even half an hour later, Sunny observed his work. With all the experience he has been gaining, Sunny was now able to create Memories in a far shorter time than before. He used to need multiple hours just for one Memory... and now, he could do so in less than one.

A neck ornament made from blue cloth rested in his hands. In effect, it was a strange mix between a scarf and a choker, which could be fastened by clip that was disguised as a golden eight-point star. As Sunny's gaze shifted, he saw the tapestry of Shadow Essence and dark nodes, revealing his work to his eyes.

This Memory was of the Ascended Rank and the seventh Tier, mainly for durability purposes. As a charm, he gave it three enchantments: the first was the enchantment he copied onto the Extraordinary Rock from Noctis' gift, which converts thought into sound. The second was the [Sonorous] enchantment, which was also from the Extraordinary Rock. Lastly, he added a resistance to mind attacks, which he got from the Puppeteer's Shroud.

Considering the purpose of this Memory... what he created for SoundlessHeaven's friend was just the Extraordinary Rock with extra levels, being both of a higher quality while also having a resistance to mind attacks attached. She also had a particular design in mind, leading to the neck ornament he created.

Now, all he had to do was name it and give it a description. Going into his phone, Sunny messaged his potential sponsor.

Sunny's Brilliant Emporium: "Just finished making the Memory. Do you have anything you want me to name it? Or to put in its description?"

Once again, he was surprised to see how quickly she responded. Did this lady really have no responsibilities?

SoundlessHeaven: "You can do that?"

Seeing that she wasn't going to answer his question, Sunny sighed, compelled by his Flaw to answer.

Sunny's Brilliant Emporium: "I can. Is that strange?"

SoundlessHeaven: "I think so. All the other enchanters I tried have it done for them by the Spell."

'Huh.'

Actually, Sunny didn't know that little tidbit.

SoundlessHeaven: "I don't have any ideas at the top of my head, so I'll let you handle it."

Sunny replied with an affirmative. It was a wise choice... after all, who could possibly be better at naming stuff than himself? His own name was the result of poetry, after all.

Memory: [Not Too Crippled].

Memory Description: [A neckpiece created by the Starkiller as a declaration of his battle against ableism. Truly, a man of many talents and feats.]

'She's going to love this...'

The Gloomy shadow palmed its face as Sunny snickered. Haughty solemnly nodded, as if he spoke nothing but the truth — not that he ever lies or anything. Happy was slightly concerned, while Creepy... was just staring creepily.

With that, his Premium Investor was all but secured!
