Careful and slightly shocked by Jason's surprisingly throwing knife attack, Alex remains calm and does his best not to make any rash movements and leave himself open. He casts Fira in front of him, dealing minor damage; his attack somehow partially resisted, using the flames as a tool to approach his enemy while obscuring his vision.

Almost in front of his opponent and prepared for the worst, Alex presses forward one last time, now as fast as he can, his [Skullflame Shield R2] raised as he slams it straight into his opponent, hitting him square in the face. Because his AGI is clearly superior to his opponent's, Jason can't react in time and takes a heavy hit, his face not only taking physical, but also fire damage.

Yelling as he's forced dangerously close to the edge of the floating stage, Jason desperately lunges forward, reversing his movement and slashing at Alex with the other knife, his face filled with panic as he acts on pure survival instinct.
Alex calmly blocks with his shield. The attack deals no damage, yet carries an unnatural, almost illogical force behind it. However, thanks to his [Skullflame Shield R2] and immense defense, Alex is unharmed. However, while Alex just needs to bear some impact, Jason suffers a heavy recoil, worsening his own condition even more. At the same time, the nightmarish shield briefly glows in a dark hue as its effect activates.

"YOU FUCKER!" Jason yells, grabbing a small orb of light from his inventory and crushing it in his hand, causing his body to glow faintly green before he slashes out again and again, dealing no damage while worsening his already grievous wounds with each strike, yet also recovering HP at the same time. Still calm, Alex blocks his two attacks in succession, causing his shield to glow in a fiery red color as an infernal wave of flames bursts forward, spewing from the shield's nightmarish skeletal mouth and engulfing Jason.

"I hate you!" Jason yells, the flames dealing atrocious damage, his body appearing more alien and strange with every second, his human form barely recognizable as his body gets a dark, corrupted hue.
He's losing it... he must have doped himself or used an item with a downside. He's completely unstable. I need to finish this fast. Can't let him prolong this and drag me to hell with him.
Angry and desperate, close to dying, Jason grabs more green orbs, trying to recover his body.
Can't let him do that. Time for my new ability.
Alex, completely calm, quickly reacts and activates his newest Biotic Ability, Reave. A barely visible Biotic attack, consisting of multiple dark-blue threads that violently slam into Jason, creating a somewhat heavy impact, occurs. Despite the average appearance, Alex feels a tremendous recoil in his hands, leaving him exhausted, but also satisfied.
That... hit him perfectly! No way, he resisted. He's fucked. I need to see if he can still fight back.

Just a split second later, Jason yells gibberish sounds into the air, his body spasming all over, as if his nerves are electrified. However, somehow, he still hangs on, not collapsing, while Alex's Reave continues to inflict terrifying injuries on Jason, rendering him utterly defenseless.

Seeing Jason hovering at death's door, Alex doesn't hesitate. He presses forward and thrusts his sword straight into his opponent's neck, going for a precision attack, his shield still raised defensively, just to make sure.

As Alex's attack lands, he carefully evades a last-second counter of Jason, whose bloody left hand made a piercing motion and was about to strike him in the chest, trying to pierce through it. Alex's shield grazes past him and then pushes his arm away altogether, evading any damage, aside from a few surprising scratches on his shield.
Fucker... almost got me?! How?!
Jason's eyes widen one last time, his rage unyielding, as he somehow manages to blurt out a few last words, blood spouting out of his wound, with every word and heartbeat. "Fucking... cowardly... turtle... go... to he—"
With all life finally gone, Jason finally collapses, and his lifeless body slowly falls face-first onto the arena, a desperate expression of relief visible on his face before it touches the ground.
Damn, crazed bastard... still had to get the last word in. He almost looked satisfied.
Alex breathes heavily, his arms strangely tired from just a few knife exchanges. Finally relaxing for a second.
What was he trying to do? As if his weak left hand could get through my Armor... he didn't even use Ko.
[Death Duel completed.]

"What the?! Why the rush?" Alex complains, now with barely any time to celebrate his victory. His body aching, he forces himself to keep going.
"FUCK!" Alex says as a list is being displayed above Jason's body.
I need to quickly choose one item... I also need to hurry up and help Jewel and Menchi... although, no... the Jaffa, Teal'c, he belongs to Jason, doesn't he? He should be gone... although... he's just temporarily aiding him... there is a chance that.... Anyway, I can't rush this; I need to use the 60 seconds. I trust in the two of them to hold out.
Thanks to his conjuration, Thorian's Domination, despite the high-impact and stressful situation, Alex calms down within seconds and carefully looks through the list, which displays only his equipment.
He doesn't even read all the items; any item that is not of at least Light Gold Quality, he immediately ignores and crosses out from his possible choices.
Still, after ignoring them, Alex can't help but be astounded, as Jason has six items of Light Gold Quality or above. He ignores most details, just trying to take in the basic information.
Names, World, Notes?! Who cares?
He only looks at the type of item, the quality, and the effect, as he only has less than a minute to decide, and some time has already passed.
Two trinkets... both gold... they seem to be useful for various things, but are not directly focused on combat. That one caused me to almost lose it... it can cause rage and madness... I see. Still not good enough. They're also just Light Gold, and my own trinkets are already incredibly potent and ranked up. Pass for now.
Bandit's Blade... a Light Gold Quality item. A short-sword/dagger hybrid. Another one from Greed Island... what did that guy do to get so much loot from that place? In any case, it has pathetic stats for its rarity, but it can sometimes steal items... useful, but it has severe restrictions and only works for low-quality items, maybe useful for Tereza... but for now, pass.
A necklace! It allows the user to trace a target once per 12 hours... that's how he found us... and it's Gold Quality! Still, my [Drakul's Vitality R2] is simply too important to slot out... damn hard choice. I could use this... but no. I can't sacrifice combat strength and survivability for utility. I want to focus on PvE and survivability if possible. No need to be too aggressive and hunt other players. I could use it as a situational item though... it's the best until now.
A pair of Gold Quality soft boots, but damn, they just reduce damage by a flat percentage and manage to restore health based on damage taken, as long as the user is standing still. That's how he was able to survive this long. But they reduce my MAG. Apart from that, they have no defensive abilities. No, I can't use them, too situational, not for my build. They are for a weird kind of deceptive player.
Why do I only get garbage?! He was a damn support player; his items are useless for me. Do I take the necklace as a spare item? Item swapping could work.
