Instead, the chakra blades in his hands began to give intense aura, presumably running with maximum output.
"You want a fight now? So be it!"
…
Standing confident in his place, Reko stood there, waiting for Asuma to make the first move.
Asuma found his opponent's haughty attitude towards this fight unbearable. He aimed for the upper body, targeting Reko's shoulder blades.
Killing was not on his mind. Not as of yet.
But he wanted to make Reko suffer.
In an instant, Asuma was already standing in front of Reko, his hands slashing left, aimed on the opponent's shoulder.
Reko ducked, dodging the slash. His pupils moved frequently, following the movements made by Asuma.
Ducking down, he pressed his left hand on the ground, squatting quickly.
Asuma jumped back instantly even though it seemed easy for him to stab Reko in the back. Even kicking Reko in the chest seemed possible but he decided to back out instead.
The ground vibrated just then, a black wall, thin yet durable looking, jumped out of the ground from where Reko had tapped.
Asuma followed Reko with his eyes, he had suffered from earth release techniques before.
'This color. This variant looks different. Is it the level he had reached already?'
The black earth was a mutation similar to the black lightning found in some expert's arsenal.
But this did not discourage him.
"Ash pile burning!"
A ball of dense black smoke gathered near his mouth before he sprayed it at Reko standing behind the wall.
Just as he landed on the ground, Asuma pulled out his lighter, throwing it at the black wall.
His expectations from this move were not much. He just wanted to test whether the black rock was really a mutation or not.
The wall stood straight, much to his disappointment. However, it was on fire as if the wall had been weakened but not enough to break.
'Good thing, I didn't attack.'
Asuma saved his chakra blades as he saw Reko grin at him before punch breaking that black wall.
The debris from the wall was directed in his direction. He dodged what he could and slashed away those he couldn't.
'Demonic illusion!'
"You have improved."
Reko had used his illusion technique to increase the number of debris aimed at Asuma's direction.
Pulling out kunai from his pockets Reko decided it was time to reciprocate. These were not the normal kunai, he didn't wish to give Asuma a fight. He wanted to crush that guy!
Reko threw the kunai at Asuma, the metal tore through air and reached Asuma in a blink. That was the level of strength he had acquired after leveling up his physique.
Asuma panicked, quickly raising up his chakra blades in reflex as he sidestepped.
A loud clang could be heard from the clash. When Asuma checked on Reko, he found that Reko was standing still, not even bothered to move.
'This fucker!!'
'No, I cannot do this alone. I will have to call him for help.'
Asuma squatted, his hands moving fast as he formed hand signs.
'What is he doing now? Did he learn another technique?'
Reko was curious. So, he decided to wait it out until Asuma completed his move.
He had no desire to prolong the battle uselessly but he was curious as to how much Asuma had improved.
"A summon?"
He seemed intrigued, Asuma had used a summoning contract and called for help.
A smoke of cloud appeared as the summon arrived, a monkey.
"Cool guy."
"I did not expect you to call for assistance. I thought you were preparing a forbidden jutsu."
Reko sighed in disappointment. The result was not to his liking. He had expected better since the system said Asuma would progress very fast.
What was this progress? A monkey summon? How could a monkey that transforms into a stick be any help against him?
But he did not realise how wrong he could be!
"Forbidden jutsu? Were you going to use it in a spar against a fellow leaf shinobi?"
The monkey King Enma looked surprised as he heard Reko. What was happening? Did they have a great feud to battle like this?
"Don't bother with that. Assist me in defeating him."
Asuma ignored the question from his summon. This was not the time.
The monkey King Enma nodded, rushing to Reko, followed by Asuma.
He had formed a contract with Sarutobi last month and assisted him with training.
Since the opponent didn't seem to be making a move, he thought that it must have been a competitive battle, nothing serious.
Reaching close, Enma attacked Reko with a swing of his tail, using it like a whip.
Reko took the attack head on, grabbed the tail before smashing Enma down on the ground.
By then, Asuma had reached him and slashed the chakra blades at him, causing him to leave Enma and dodge.
"He is strong! It's good that you summoned me."
Enma looked at Reko who was standing a couple of meters away from them, waiting for them to make a move.
Just now, when he was smashed into the ground, the ground had turned hard, hurting him more.
This time Enma let Asuma make the first move and assisted from the side.
Reko had only one kunai in his hand which he used to fight against Asuma. This allowed Enma to land one of his attacks, thanks to his tail.
One of his tail whips hit directly on Reko's neck, sliding into the gap. However, the attack only broke off the protection layer of earth.
Reko did not get injured or knocked out.
"Defensive jutsu? You are really good at earth release."
"I am good at many things. Let me show you!"
Reko formed a hand sign, forming two shadow clones in an instant. The clones were meant to restrain Asuma.
As for Monkey King Enma, Reko wanted to battle against an opponent who could use tail. He wanted to make use of this opportunity to push his combat skills.
He threw a punch at the monkey King which was dodged and retaliated against by a tail whip.
Jumping in the air, Reko threw a kick at Enma. The attack connected but Enma blocked it with his hands in a cross. The force behind it made Enma smash to the ground but no injuries.
