1 hour earlier...
Kevin and Renji just finished jogging and exercising for 3 hours. It was a very exhausting exercise and would demand high stamina. Endurance was tested and the two went panting with May's training.
May was blowing the whistle while commanding their training. She was strickly assessing and maintaining their pace.
Everyone was being trained right now with their own personal training regimen. And even Renji was impressed with her training methods. Although Ren have already seen this types of trainings and also agreed with her methods.
Though his was a little bit different to the approach. Hers was focusing on their weaknesses first and was a priority. Renji, wanted them to gain new skills or even polish their strengths.
Renji also knew how to solve their weaknesses but he dismissed the thoughts for now. He need to focus on the training regimen and polish it to fullness.
The thing was, he agreed too with May's priority as weaknesses were the ones needed to be solved first. Next were their individual strengths.
"Okay! Good job finishing your warm up. Now drink energy drinks and then we will start your one on one." May instructed.
Then after that, they went sitting on the bench as their warm up was finished. "Though seriously, who warms up for 3 whole hours?" Renji asked. Then drank the handed energy drink.
"Hehe, only in May," Kevin added.
"Haha, we're screwed." Renji complimented. "Well, we got a good coach at least,"
"Yeah," Kevin said then stood up. He wiped his sweat with a towel and then put it on the bench.
Then they went to the other side of the half court and they positioned themselves. Renji got the first ball and then Kevin defended.
"Whoa, a one versus one with Kevin the Ace and Renji the second Ace." Shin complimented.
"Okay, Renji, we will contest it out who is the best Ace of this school's team. Whoever wins will be the Ace of the Kaito Team!" He announced.
"Pass!" Renji said.
"Huh? What?" Kevin was confused.
"I mean, I am not interested. I just want to make it a tie and revenge in the past by defeating you." Renji announced his challenge.
"Okay, I will forget that one if you defeat me in our one versus one." Kevin was more interested in what the outcome would be. He knew that this person he was facing was a strong one that dueled Aoi the Ace.
"Come at me with full force!" Kevin shouted.
"Yeah!" Renji replied.
Renji then attacked and with his exhausted self. His dibbles we're slow and it made Kevin stole the ball.
He immediately went to offensive and then he leaped to the ring with a dunk.
1 - 0
He immediately defended and then Renji went to defend. They all went to see his duel and they stopped their training.
Renji stopped him and Kevin dashed on his left. Renji stepped back to catch up but his enemy did not stop there and then Kevin dashed even more. Right when Renji was coping up, he spun to the other side and then leaped in the air. Dunking it on the process.
Bam! 2 - 0
Kevin was just getting started. And Renji was already panting. This amounts of movements required great amounts of air in the blood. Making him breathed deep in and out. He wiped the sweat on his forehead and then he felt lighter. His heart racing but then his mind was calm. Like a sharp gaze was seen from his enemy.
Renji then was smirking, "We are just starting!"
"Yeah, I know," Kevin proclaimed. He trashed Renji like an Ace would do. Slashing left and right then crossing over and another dunk.
3 - 0
He immediately went on rampage and dunked several times till 11.
11 - 0!
"Renji is doomed!" May shouted. She looked worried and Renji was seen nearly collapsing. "I thought Renji was better than Kevin in the past one on one with Aoi. But to think he was just lucky at that time." May commented with some hurting comment.
It hurted Renji so much but accepted it. Seems like nothing has changed at all. Not even improvements but he turned even more complacent. He did not expect that he would become a trash after the one on one of Aoi.
Though it was to blame as his stamina was in its bottom when he dueled Aoi and his stamina was in 30% right after. Now that he rested, he came to 60% but still felt that fatigue crept in his bones and veins.
He soon stood up and felt like his engine inside was revving. It was his second wind!
He immediately went to steal the ball and he felt lighter than before! He could feel the plethora of his emotions and his strength combined.
He immediately dashed and Kevin blocked his path. Though Renji slashed in his opposite side and then crossed over to his left. He dashed and then stopped mid way. Making Renji to stop too. But this time, Renji leaped and dunked and Kevin faltered and leaped a little late. Making Renji's dunk unstoppable.
He then gave him the ball and Renji showered mid range shooting while after making a cross over. He even stepped back to ensure his distance to gap and then shoot a fast release.
All of his shots made it through till...
11 - 11!
Renji then dashed and then leaped from the free throw line and dunked!
"Prrrttttt!!!" May whistled. Renji wins!
"To think Renji will win with his enemy nearly winning and his shots were unstoppable. He also gained a skill that made him unstoppable when he turned on his second wind." May made her comments.
Renji awakened his late game capabilities where one person was getting better and better when he was on fire and exhausted.
Then Renji made a basket, 1 point then his attacks went and he improved and until 12.
Kevin was taken aback by what happened.....
Renji was struggling at first then slowly, he gained more and more precision on his shots and also improved and improved.
When his second wind started, he was unstoppable...
That was why Kevin could not believe it. Was he faking his capabilities or he unlocked his late gamer or late bloomer skill?
He only knew one thing and that was he lost. Renji was in thoughts when he went home. "I did win, but at the cost of nearly losing. That one last shot of Kevin might have made him win but I coped up and scored back to back."
Renji was not copying anymore but unlocked his own second wind skill without it. Though he felt that he was still lacking compared to his prodigy mode or his copycat mode.
