At midnight, she couldn't sleep—and when she finally woke, she knew she had to be careful. To avoid disturbing Elena, she gently lifted her own head, shifted her arms, and then carefully placed Elena back on the pillow. Only after that did she slip away to the elevator and select the top floor—one that was accessible to everyone, since it was a rooftop bar.
Surprisingly, even at this hour there was a robot working as a bartender. The music was soothing, almost uplifting, as if it refused to acknowledge the hour. There were more people than she'd expected—including the white-haired boy and Malika, who sat near the fence so they could watch the view of the night sky.
Unfortunately, the entire sector is filled with fire and smoke right now. Worse still, there was no holographic display on this floor to hide the real view.
"Are they on a date?" she wondered.
