Chapter 1 - Elise's Diary....

Dear Diary,

I'm not sure how to begin! So much has happened in the past few days, and my heart feels like it's going to burst from happiness. I don't know if I'm dreaming or if this is really my life now, but I'm so, so grateful. Let me try to explain everything…

Two days ago, something amazing happened. Adrian, my brother—who has been so distant for as long as I can remember—started acting differently. He smiled at me! Not just the polite smiles he used to give, but a real, warm smile like he used to when we were little. It was like the old Adrian was back, and I felt like I had my big brother again. I missed him so much, Diary. More than I can even say.

He asked me how I was, just like he used to. I could hardly believe it—I thought I might cry right there at the dinner table. It's silly, I know, but I was just so happy. And then, as if that wasn't enough, he sat beside me! Can you believe it? I kept sneaking glances at him, trying to make sure it was real. He even asked me about my day and listened to me talk about the new books I've been reading and the dresses I've been dreaming of. It felt like the old days, like nothing had changed, and I wanted to keep talking forever.

Then, yesterday was even more wonderful. Adrian took me shopping in the city! I've always wanted to go out with him, but he's always been busy or distant, and I didn't want to bother him. But this time, he actually invited me himself! We went with the knights and the maids, of course—Adrian said we have to stay safe—but it didn't matter. All that mattered was that we were together.

We visited so many shops! There were dolls and dresses and sweets, and Adrian let me pick out whatever I wanted. He even bought me these beautiful butterfly hairpins that I saw in one of the shops. I felt so special wearing them, like a real princess. The shopkeepers were all so nice too. I think they could tell how happy I was, and Adrian was so kind to everyone. He's always been polite, but today he seemed different, more… I don't know, more alive? Does that make sense?

But the best part, Diary, was when we went to the Flower World. Oh, it was the most beautiful place I've ever seen! Flowers everywhere, in all colours and shapes, like a garden from a fairy tale. I felt like I was in a dream, surrounded by petals that glowed like little stars. And the owner, Lady Elaria, was so pretty, like an elf from one of my storybooks. She welcomed us and let us look around, and I couldn't stop staring at all the beautiful flowers.

And then… Adrian sang for me. Right there, in the middle of all those flowers, he sang a song just for me. I didn't even know he could sing! His voice was so soft and beautiful, and it felt like magic. He sang about flowers and beauty, and he said I was the most beautiful flower there. Me! I felt like I was going to cry, but in the best way. My heart was so full, and I couldn't stop smiling. For a moment, it felt like it was just the two of us in the whole world.

Lady Elaria told Adrian that his voice was magical, and I think she's right. It's like he has a gift, something special that makes everyone feel good. I've never seen flowers sway to music before, but they did! It was like they were dancing just for Adrian's song. I felt so proud of him. My brother, my amazing, wonderful brother.

When we got home, I couldn't stop thinking about everything. I wanted to write it all down so I'd never forget, but I was so tired. I just fell into bed and dreamed about flowers and songs and Adrian's smile. I hope things stay like this. I hope Adrian stays close to me. I don't want to go back to how it was before, when he was so far away even though we were in the same house.

Today, Adrian seemed tired, but he still made time for me. I don't know what's going on with him—sometimes he looks like he's thinking really hard about something, and I worry he's still sad inside. But whenever he sees me, he smiles, and it's like everything is okay. I'm going to try my best to make him happy too, like he's making me happy. Maybe we can make each other happy, together.

I'm so excited for tomorrow! I wonder what we'll do. I want to show Adrian my favourite spot in the garden. We used to play there when we were little, and I think he'll like it. I hope he'll sing again. I could listen to his songs forever.

Thank you for listening, Diary. I just had to tell someone, and you're the only one who understands. I'm going to keep writing everything down, every day, so I never forget how wonderful things are right now. I love my brother so much, and I don't ever want to lose him again.

Goodnight, Diary. I hope tomorrow is just as magical.

Love,

Elise

Elise closed her diary, her fingers gently brushing over the cover as if sealing in all the memories she had just poured onto its pages. She hugged the small book close to her chest, her heart brimming with warmth and hope. A soft knock on her door made her jump, and she quickly hid the diary under her pillow.

"Come in!" she called, her voice a little too bright.

The door opened, and Adrian stepped inside, a soft smile on his face. "Elise, it's late. You should be asleep by now."

Elise nodded, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I know, but I just had to write in my diary. Today was so wonderful, Adrian. Thank you for everything."

Adrian's smile widened, and he walked over to ruffle her hair affectionately. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Elise. I had a great time too."

Elise beamed up at him, feeling a surge of happiness wash over her. "Goodnight, Adrian."

"Goodnight, Elise." Adrian turned to leave, pausing at the door to look back at her with a thoughtful expression. "Sweet dreams."

Elise watched him go, her heart light and her thoughts filled with the promise of another day with her beloved brother. As she settled under her blankets, she whispered a silent prayer that these moments would last forever. With a contented sigh, she closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep with a smile on her lips.

Tonight, her dreams would be filled with songs and flowers, and the joy of having her brother by her side.
