Jasmine was reading the epilogue if he novel that she had started reading from the beginning of the semester. She was sitting on a Persian carpet pla ed on the living room floor of Kriti's new apartment. Its been a whole semester since Kriti and Jasmine have been dating. They kept their relationship hidden in the university and privately shared their close friends and family about rhwir relationship. Jasmine's aunts and uncles were supper happy about it and Jasmine's parents were nonchalant when they got to know about it.
"As long as she is happy, safe, alive and we'll fed, we don't care whether she married someone, didn't marry someone." Her parents said and hung the phone up for they were currently living in an remote village of South America which had a very limited cellular network.
As for Kriti's parents, they took some time to process the new information about their precious daughter, but eventually came around and accepted Jasmine as their own daughter. Later on, they started prefering Jasmine over their own daughter!
During this period, she started working in an multinational company as an intern. As for Jasmine, her professor Dr. Thane, had contacted her personally to work on one of his research projects as an assistant. Though Jasmine was not really interested in the research field, the topic of the research was on fragrances and its effect on various kinds of hormones. Taking it as a stepping stone for her business model, Jasmine accepted the research project and was working post-university time as an assistant, grunting and struggling in the labs.
Siddharth got engaged. Even thought the process was not exactly one would call "smooth", but they finally had become each other's fiance.
Kriti kept a plate of fleshly cut papaya on the living room table and lied on the carpet, next to Jasmine and played with her locks of hair.
Kriti took a sniff of Jasmine's hair and said, "When will you shift to my apartment? I miss you so much. All I want is to lock you up in my apartment and not let you go out at all. Cut all contact."
Jasmine pecked Kriti's cheek and said," Not now. I still have to live nearby to the university. I have lab research. I'll be working late at night."
"Why are you working so hard? Uhm? You can just let me finance you." Kriti whined.
"Oho Intern Kriti. Save your money. You're just an Intern. You're salary is want I spend whenever my aunts take me to Dubai shopping malls." Jasmine teased.
"My wife is a rich young woman. My wife is my sugar mommy." Kriti smirked and fed Jasmine a piece of papaya.
"Also, can we postpone today's dinner to tomorrow? Jaya wants to hang out with me." Jasmine said as she closed to book and kept it on the floor.
"Sure. Why not. If you want, she can come with us for dinner." Kriti said, sulking and making a defensive stance.
"Honey." Jasmine purred.
"How many dinners have we postponed because you have to hangout with Jaya?" Kriti was now literally pouting and ignored Jasmine's eye contact.
"Sweetheart, just today's dinner. I promise, tomorrow, we'll definitely go to the amazing dinner reservation that you have for us." Jasmine said as she soothed Kriti.
"Promise?" Kriti said.
"I promise. I guarantee you that tomorrow is the day we will have that dinner reservation. " Jasmine said.
"Ok, I guess I'll reschedule it for tomorrow." Kriti said as she took out her phone to call the restaurant.
The only couple that still was not ready to move ahead was Jason and Lalith.
Jason had dropped out of university to finalise the preparation for reexamination for the university. Lalith, taking the role of a smarter, older online buddy of his, asked Kriti to send her preparation notes to him so that he could send it to Jason. Jason religiously studied that study guide and had given the preliminary test. The prospects were really good and he decided to sit for another round of test as well.
Kriti and Lalith have given up their roles in the studen council and new student president and vice student president started to work. Siddharth was now appointed as Secretary of student council. This meant Siddharth was working more, which lead to Jaya coming to Jasmine's apartment more often, ruining Kriti's precious time with Jasmine.
