Zeus remains seated on his throne, though the exhaustion in his face makes him look more tired than he did only moments ago. His gaze settles on Medusa and Aleysia.
The two women are still holding each other close near the center of the throne room, as if separating even slightly would tempt fate into taking another cruel turn. Aleysia's fingers remain tangled tightly in Medusa's clothes, while Medusa keeps one arm wrapped around her waist protectively.
Zeus studies them for a long moment before speaking. "I tied your souls to each other," he says at last, his tone calm but firm. "And I severed your destiny from Perseus."
The words immediately pull both women's attention toward him. Medusa frowns first. "What do you mean by tied our souls?"
Zeus exhales slowly through his nose, already sounding irritated that he has to explain himself. "It means exactly what I said. One of you dies, the other follows."
