As the glass pod emitted a faint glow from behind the swirling mist inside it, Robin sat on a broken seat in front of an old control panel, rapidly typing into the system.
"We're going to find out who this girl is"
Peter stood behind him, watching the surveillance screens that slowly flickered to life. Meanwhile, Kid Flash was beside the pod, trying to peer through the fogged-up glass.
"She looks like she's sleeping… or frozen" Wally said as he leaned in closer.
Robin replied as the first encrypted file unlocked, "Not frozen. She's in induced stasis"
The main file opened, displaying a 3D projection of the girl inside the pod. Her name flashed on the screen in bold letters — Supra, Project Thirteen.
"Her name is Supra" Robin muttered, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. "A genetically engineered Kryptonian hybrid. Half her DNA is from Superman. The other half… unknown. But the genome sequence carries Lex Luthor's signature"
Aqualad said quietly, "This is truly disturbing. My king warned me things on the surface could be difficult, but I expected only battles or rescues"
Peter added with a smirk, "Well, welcome to the surface world, buddy. And guess what, it's only Monday"
"Wait a second" Wally blurted. "You're telling me they cloned a Kryptonian girl… and locked her in here? For how long"
Robin glanced back at the data. "Three years. She's never left the pod. Kept asleep and fed by the system"
Peter whispered, "This isn't containment… it's imprisonment"
Suddenly, the power cut out for a moment. The room went completely dark before dim red emergency lights flickered on. A mechanical voice echoed from the walls
Security breach detected. Lower level emergency release. Protocol Seventeen active
Aqualad reacted instantly, "We need to leave. Now"
But Peter stepped forward, "No… if we leave her, they'll seal the place again"
He moved toward the control panel, working quickly to override the pod's lock. "If she's part Kryptonian, she might wake up slowly… or explode and take the building with her. Either we help her now, or regret it later"
Robin asked, "Are you sure about this"
Peter replied with a half-smile, "I'm the guy who fought a giant ant and a talking fish in the same week. I think I can handle one superpowered girl"
With a final press, the steam lock hissed and the pod began to slide open. A soft sound came from inside… her first breath.
Then she opened her eyes.
