Wang Jian stood his ground, a smile spreading across his face as he let Xu Qian off the hook. He didn't press her further, instead asking directly, "Were you there last night, too?"
"Ah?" Xu Qian's face, already flushed, turned an even deeper shade of red. "Did Liping tell you?"
"Does it matter who told me?" Wang Jian rolled his eyes. "What's important now is that you answer my question."
Seeing there was no way to dodge the topic, Xu Qian untied her apron and led Wang Jian back into the building. After he had gone inside, she peeked out, looking left and right to make sure no one was coming before she closed the door.
When she turned around, she found Wang Jian already sitting in the living room, waiting for her with a smirk.
"You were drunk anyway. Is knowing what happened last night really that important?" Xu Qian couldn't understand why Wang Jian was being so insistent about this.
