Chapter 319 - Chapter 319: Your Highness the Prince?

Genshin Impact: I'm The Envoy of Snezhnaya

Chapter 319: Your Highness the Prince?

"So you're the one they call Their Highness?"

Bai Luo didn't immediately ask whether the other party was Aether or Lumine.

This was a decision he had made after careful consideration.

What truly counted as pleasure?

It was when the other side thought you knew nothing, while in reality, you knew even the color of their underwear.

If he were to call out the other's name right away, the person would immediately become wary, and any further attempts to stir things up would be much more difficult.

As for the idea that calling someone by name could bring people closer together?

Sorry, Bai Luo didn't care about that in the slightest. What he cared about was the pleasure of fooling someone.

So the first thing he needed to figure out was the other party's gender.

"..."

The figure shrouded in Abyssal aura clearly had no intention of letting Bai Luo learn their true identity.

They silently stared at Bai Luo, continuously using Abyssal power to treat the Abyss Herald's wounds.

"Beat the small one, the big one shows up. Beat the big one, an old one appears. So tell me, if I beat you too… will a brother or sister come looking for revenge?"

Bai Luo's seemingly joking remark was actually a deliberate probe.

The casual mention of siblings was meant to provoke a reaction, any reaction at all. Even a single attack would give him enough detail to judge the other's identity.

But to Bai Luo's surprise, the person remained remarkably calm, acting as if it meant nothing.

How should he put it… this kind of composure… was it Aether?

If it were Lumine, Bai Luo felt certain that after that line, she would have rushed over immediately to kick him.

In truth, Bai Luo still had another option: simply fight them head-on.

Judging by the power of that sword throw earlier, the opponent's strength was at least on the level of the Seven Archons, possibly even higher.

And Bai Luo was confident he could clash with them.

Whether he could win was another matter, but surviving was not an issue.

However, there was no need for him to completely tear things apart right now.

As a Harbinger of the Fatui from Snezhnaya, recklessly going to war with the Abyss's so-called Their Highness could bring unnecessary trouble to Snezhnaya.

More importantly, fighting them offered him absolutely no benefit. There was no reason to do it.

Since neither the process nor the outcome would profit him, Bai Luo naturally wouldn't choose to fight.

But not fighting didn't mean he wouldn't stir trouble.

With such a perfect opportunity in front of him, not courting death would be an insult to all the people he'd already messed with.

"So, Your Highness, are you a princess or a prince?"

"How old are you this year?"

"Married yet?"

"Any interest in marrying into Snezhnaya?"

"We've got gentle and adorable little dove Columbina, and also a handsome, rich little duck—Tartaglia."

"Mature men, big sisters, little girls, handsome uncles, we've got it all. We even have people who play with clones, people who play with puppets, and yes, grandpas too~"

"And if you've got more… special tastes, we've also got Electro Hammers, Cryo big guys, Hydro big guys, and Anemo boxers. Satisfaction guaranteed—"

Boom—

At last, the other party could no longer tolerate Bai Luo's incessant babbling and slammed a fist violently into the ground.

Abyssal energy surged up, sending stone flying as it snaked across the ground toward Bai Luo.

Reacting instantly, Bai Luo drew the Reverse-Blade Sword and drove it hard into the ground.

Clang—

The Abyssal force crashed against the Reverse-Blade Sword. It didn't damage the weapon itself, but instead shoved Bai Luo backward several meters, carving a deep trench into the earth.

"So… a Prince, then?"

After steadying himself, a subtle expression appeared on Bai Luo's face.

He had come to this conclusion entirely based on the difference in how the siblings attacked.

For example, when releasing a Geo Elemental Burst, Lumine kicks it out with her foot in an extremely domineering fashion.

Aether, on the other hand, smashes the ground with his fist.

Combined with the other party's calm and steady temperament, Bai Luo already had a pretty good idea of their gender.

"..."

Naturally, the His Highness standing opposite him also heard Bai Luo's "muttering to himself." However, because of the Abyssal aura shrouding them, Bai Luo couldn't make out their expression.

Still, that faint sense of surprise was conveyed clearly enough to him.

"Y-Your… Your Highness."

The Abyss Herald, whose injuries had already been treated, lowered his head in shame.

Aether didn't speak, merely shook his head toward his subordinate, signaling him to go save the Abyss Mage whose life still hung in the balance.

After all, they were still his subordinates. Even if it was one of the most insignificant among them, such loyalty was worth caring about.

"Roar—"

A painful-sounding roar suddenly rang out, breaking the delicate atmosphere between the two sides.

A violent wind swept across Whispering Woods. A massive shadow blotted out the sky as a gigantic figure flew overhead.

After glancing at Bai Luo, then at the dragon passing above, Aether gestured again. The Abyss Herald—having recovered some strength—opened a portal and left the area.

And at the moment the portal opened, a faint dragon's roar echoed from within.

"Hey, how about we be friends?"

Watching Aether about to step into the portal, Bai Luo seemed to remember something.

At first, he meant to pull a fruit from his pocket, but then remembered they were in Whispering Woods. He glanced around, reached out to pluck a Sunsettia from a nearby tree, and tossed it over.

"..."

Looking at the freshly picked Sunsettia, Aether didn't throw it away. He casually put it away and stepped into the portal.

The portal vanished, and Whispering Woods fell silent once more.

"That Aether… is pretty crafty too."

Picking another Sunsettia, Bai Luo looked in the direction the dragon had flown, a thoughtful expression on his face.

That final sequence of actions gave the impression that Aether had gone to pursue the dragon.

Especially with the dragon's roar coming from within the portal, if it were someone else, they might already have fallen for it, believing that the Abyss Order's arrangements in Whispering Woods were entirely aimed at scheming over that dragon.

Unfortunately… Bai Luo knew far more than the Abyss Order imagined.

At the very least, he understood that chasing the dragon was only incidental. Aether's true target was someone else in this area.

As for why Aether hadn't spoken a single word from beginning to end, Bai Luo had a rough guess as well.

The Aether he was truly avoiding wasn't him, but rather the Seven Archons, or perhaps even the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.

Bai Luo leaned more toward the Seven Archons, because to the prematurely awakened twin, the Seven were also enemies.

After all, during the destruction of Khaenri'ah, the Seven Archons had taken part as well.
