Su Yan hadn't had a chance to call back before her phone rang again.
She looked at the familiar number displayed on the screen, pressed the answer button, but didn't speak.
"Where are you?" Immediately, a voice with an upset tone questioned her.
Su Yan detected the subtle anger in his tone, lowered her eyes, and replied indifferently, "I'll be back soon."
Gu Chaohan intensified his tone, "I asked where you are?"
It seemed as if he would explode if she didn't answer immediately.
Su Yan didn't want to test his patience, nor did she want to argue with him. She glanced around and then told him her location.
Gu Chaohan didn't respond further, simply hung up the phone.
Not far ahead was a bus stop. She walked over and sat down on the bench.
The windscreen beside her reflected her silhouette. She looked up to see her own pale face, etched with despair and sorrow.
She thought that after such a long time, she had become numb.
