"How do I awaken my spirit?" Questioned Evan, though his day was miserable, he was excited about summoning a spirit, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Not now, it's still two hours early." Alexandra said, bringing down Evan's excitement.
With downcast eyes he asked, "Why are you saying it's now 'time' then?"
"I wanted to see your reaction." She giggled, causing Evan to puff out his cheeks to express his anger making her giggle even more.
"Are you mad? Sorry, I just thought it would be funny." Alexandra apologized with a guilty smile.
"Its a rare opportunity for us to talk so let's just chat until 12 AM. Only during 12 AM to 3 AM can the ritual be performed or else it will end up in a failure." Stated Alexandra in a relaxed manner, Evan noticing this was confused.
"Why are you so relaxed around me?" Since she said to relax, Evan lay down on the bed, making sure to gain a substantial distance between her.
"You are my fiance."
"Is that going to be your excuse for everything?" Raising an eyebrow, Evan exclaimed.
Staring at Evan she smiled. "If that's the case, I guess it's because I know you don't have the strength to even tackle me down."
She said with an teasing smile which made Evan feel like his pride as a man is being trampled over.
"Is that so?" Pulling back his pride Evan sighed while thinking logically that she have a point. He couldn't harm the demon but she had the strength to leave it nearly dead.
"How strong are you anyways?" Evan couldn't help but ask.
"Since I trust you I will tell you. I am a black spirit wielder." She stated, at the same time she placed her finger at her mouth telling Evan to keep it a secret.
Evan did not pay attention to her gestures. "Huh? Didn't the demon say you were a red spirit wielder?"
He was shocked. From what he understand from the battle, there are three types of spirit wielders. Black Spirit Wielders are likely second level while Red Spirit Wielders are the third level.
As for the first he believe it's possible that it could be White Spirit Wielders. He thought this might be case because of what he saw during the disaster when benevolent spirits who are white spirits were eating the demons.
"He did say that, but I am not a Red Spirit Wielder." Alexandra shook her head before continuing, "If I was the association would not send me on a stupid school mission like this."
"If that's the case then what about the information you told me at school? How humans can only bring out a portion of their spirits power? If that's true then shouldn't you have lost against the demon who you said are depraved spirits?" Evan questioned in confusion.
"So you remember all of that." Alexandra stared in shock.
"Hey I'm not dumb!"
"Haha, I indeed said that. However, what I did not tell you is that there are sub levels inside the levels of a spirit wielder." She laughed before explaining.
"There are five sub levels: initial, low, mid, high and peak. These levels only exist for the wielder as for the spirit, the moment they reach a new level they already reach the max strength they can gain from it." She stated, took a breather and continued with a sigh, "You could say we are the ones holding our spirits back from reaching their former strength."
Each level gives the wielder a portion of their strength and once they reach peak they would gain the full power of their Spirit at that specific level.
Unfortunately for the spirit wielder the only way to reach the next level is if they allow their spirit to consume other spirits. In the case of eidolon spirits, it is much harder for they disdain the act of consuming others. Instead, they absorb the lingering spirit qi that escapes after the death of a spirit.
"As of now I am a mid tier black-spirit wielder while that demon was only a high tier black-spirit wielder." Alexandra finished.
"Wait... but that doesn't explain anything." Taking in the knowledge Evan realized that something does not add up.
"If he is a black-spirit wielder at the high tier how did you defeat him so easily?" He asked since she said she was at the mid tier.
"There's two factors, well.. three." Raising three fingers, Alexandra stated.
"One, I am a born genius of the Warren's Clan, my spirit qi output is more than 120% while the average spirit wielder is around 70% . If an average user were to fight that demon, naturally they would lose. However, for me because of my spirit qi output my strength is boost to a high tier spirit wielder although I am only at the mid tier." She said with a tingle of pride.
"Two, my spirit have a passive ability that increase my power and spirit qi output to an additional 15% at night times that are cold, during very cold times or cold places it can increase by an additional 30%. Sadly, this passive is also a double-edge sword as my power is decreased by 45% during day times that are extremely hot.
"Third, demons can only bring out their full power here on earth when it's surrounded by hell qi. That ominous energy that caused you to kneel is their source of strength, without it they are weaken by 100% and because I suppressed that energy with my own spirit qi he could not bring out his full power."
"So his actual strength was that of an initial black-spirit wielder while mine was at a half red spirit wielder."
"Which truly surprise me that he lived. That demon is very formidable so you must be careful when he shows up again." She said with a serious look.
Meanwhile, Evan did not hear her last part as he was screaming curses in his head, mind-blowned at how freakishly strong Alexandra is.
'Will I also be as strong or just average?' He could not help but ask himself this.
"Evan do you see Alexa? I can't find her anywhere." At that moment, Evan room was opened.
Naomi entered to see both Alexa and Evan in bed cuddled closely to each other.
"What are you two doing..." Naomi fiercely turn to Evan who just realized Alexa sneakily came closer to him while he was absorbed in their conversation.
"You sly-!" Flustered, Evan turn to see Alexandra looking at him like a fox caught doing something bad before swiftly escaped her clutches, turning to Naomi to explain.
"I-"
"I don't want to hear it." Naomi shook her head with a tone filled with envy confusing Evan.
'When will I find myself a boyfriend.' She grumbled inside.
She let out a soft sigh as she turn to face Alexandra. Her face filled with disapproval.
"Naomi she only came to talk!" Panicking, Evan tried to explain when he saw the look she was giving Alexandra.
"Pink doesn't suit you." Just when Evan thought it was going to get heated in his room, Naomi muttered with a disturbed attitude.
"Mhm. I came to ask Evan of his opinion of these clothes and he said the same thing." Alexandra nodded, agreeing with Naomi.
"Wow! I didn't know I had such a little brother!" Naomi praised but Evan felt like it wasn't exactly one.
"What do you mean by that? Did I say something wrong?" Evan asked, sweat dripping down his face.
"You clueless little brother of mine." She uttered in a baffled manner while slapping her legs.
"Lesson number one!" She came closer to Evan and knocked his head with her finger. "Never tell a lady they look bad in something even if it's true!"
Naomi shouted. Evan who was also baffled at the moment remained silent.
"Lesson number two! Don't do something you might regret in the future!" She reprimanded with a serious look similar to Rebecca, making Evan nod his head abruptly.
Naomi who was observing Evan like a hawk soon turn gentle after noticing that he understood her.
"Sorry Alexa. That was all I had. Maybe ask Amber tomorrow?" She turn to Alexandra and apologize. That one pajamas was all she had that could fit her. A matter of fact that was the only pajamas she had...
"Its fine..." Alexandra waved that it was alright but Evan wasn't going to let this perfect moment to get Amber on Naomi bad side slide.
"She did ask Amber, but all she did was ignore her!"
"Huh! Is what Evan said true?" Naomi became quite angry at the mention of this topic.
"Well..." Alexandra could only give Naomi a side gaze.
"I didn't know I had such a bad little sister! Don't worry Alexa, first thing tomorrow morning I will have a talk with her!" Shouted Naomi, noticing Alexandra reaction she was furious.
The two girls spoke for a couple more minutes before Naomi finally had enough. She was tired and also recall she had work tomorrow.
"On Saturday how about we go shopping to get you some new clothes?" Yawning, Naomi asked.
"I would love to." With a smile, Alexandra answered.
"Good! Evan your coming too!" Naomi exclaimed in excitement before turning to Evan who was blended into the room.
'How did I get involved in this?' Evan who remained quiet for the entire duration chose to just nod his head.
"Well it's 12 AM, I should go to bed now." Checking her phone she yawned once more before leaving.
"You two should go to sleep as well you have school tomorrow and Evan remember what I said! Number two!" She exclaimed with an firm look.
"I'm not that desperate okay!"
"That's the Evan I know. Alright good night guys." She bids farewell for the night.
"Good night." They responded in kind.
"..."
"..."
They waited until they heard Naomi room being closed before looking at each other.
Alexandra expressing was neutral.
Evan was excited, a goofy smile on his face.
"It's 12 AM now!"
