Chapter 1 - A Plant Parasite Is Attatched To Me

Seth Williams is a sixteen year old boy who is in a world run by ability users. When he was a child, he had already dreamed of what his ability would be like but reality is cruel and even crueler to the kind and innocent.

Seth was condemned as a non user. At first it was crushing and Seth had locked himself at home for days, not going out and always clinging to his mothers side but after a bit of moping, he had already stepped up back to his feet and began going back to school.

But that was where things began to go bad for him.

Seth's parents were not ordinary beings. Seth's father, William is a world renowned scientist hailed throughout many colonized planets as the greatest scientists and also the leader of the third ranked faction in all of the galaxy and his mother, Helen, the princess of the Chane family who had run off with a scientists held the ultimate title of a chief battle Maiden and also the lead researcher of the Axis evolution theory.

Society knew they could not touch those two, so they turned to the child who was an invalid, a child with no abilities for himself and was pretty much useless.

It was a matter of time before Seth began to be bullied.

The people he had once called friends turned on him and used their abilities to push him around, teachers still try to deescalate anything dangerous but if it is not anything harmful, they will just pretend they have not seen anything.

Like the current situation now.

BANG!!!

Being pinned to a locker, Seth looked at the eyes of the boy in front of him as he awaited his fate.

"If it isn't the little sprout that has no roots, where were you about to go? stay and talk with your old pal." The boy's name is James and he was one of Seth's more active bullies, he had a hot temper...

No literally, his very palms are making the locker he had pinned his arm to begin to heat up. Jake had wild orange hair and had bright red pupils, his ability is heat and fame control, he could create flames from any part of his body or he could take away the heat from anything with heat and boost hid flames.

Seth finds him terrifying and would rather not interact with him if he had the chance.

But that wasn't possible.

This guy felt like someone who had a personal vendetta against Seth and didn't have the slightest intention of letting it go.

Seth sighed and looked up at Jake straight at his eyes. "What do you want Jake?" Seth was not afraid, even if he couldn't stand up for himself, he had no reason to be afraid of someone using their abilities to bully the weak.

Jake smirked, he brought his other arm towards Seth's face and a small ember began to float on his index finger. "Just wanted to remind you of your place." he sneered. "A nobody with no powers. You're lucky your parents are who they are or you would be even less than that."

The other students in the hallway couldn't help but laugh, it must be such a disgrace for two influential and powerful beings to have such a weak and powerless child but Seth knew that it wasn't true. As an only child, he is loved by his parents more than they love their work but he still couldn't help but clench his fist at their mocking voices.

"Leave him alone Jake." A voice came from behind Jake and he tilted his head to see who it was.

It was a girl, her name is Emily, she was the only person who didn't treat Seth like an outcast. She had blonde hair and clear blue eyes. She has the ability to control anything liquid. "Stop being such a bully and leave Seth alone."

Jake gave Emily a look of extreme annoyance. "Stay out of this Emily, you don't want to join him do you?"

Emily stepped forward, the atmosphere around immediately began to turn cold, her eyes glowed with a dangerous light as she glared at Jake. "I'm not asking Jake."

Jakes eyes also began to glow slightly but he hesitated. Fighting with Emily now wouldn't be a smart thing to do in a hallway filled with many onlookers. He extinguished the flame on his finger and gave Seth a mocking look before he walked away.

Seth blinked and then turned to look at Emily, she was a bit taller than him so he had to tilt his head a bit to look at her. He looked at her for a few more seconds before he replied. "Thanks."

Emily walked forward and crossed her arms. "Seth... you should really avoid Jake, he's a jerk."

Seth rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled awkwardly, the students seeing that nothing else was happening all returned back to their individual activities.

"I'm used to it so he didn't bother me as much" Seth said with a grin and Emily couldn't help but droop her arms down and sigh. "Seth... that's bad, you shouldn't be used to it."

Seth shrugged. "I don't have the strength to stand up for myself and no one is really on my side."

Emily couldn't fathom what Seth was thinking. She looked at him again and decided to go to class with him and tried to lift his spirits while also telling him to be more considerate about himself, if he got hurt, his parents might do something they... might not actually regret,

Emily too would do something she definitely won't regret, as Seth's childhood friend, it was only right she looked after him and made sure he was out of harms way. But despite her efforts, Seth felt a heavy weight in his heart, a constant reminder that he will always be weak and powerless even among family and friends in a world dominated by power.

Later that afternoon, Seth returned home from school, feeling exhausted by the dullness of the teachers and school.

The first thing he did was go to his father's lab and go to his supercomputer to do some menial work for him. He began by opening the computer using his fathers commonly used password and then went into a program and simply put in a single command.

After he was done, he leaned back and stretched his arms with a smile on his face.

Just as he was about to get up and go to his room upstairs, he saw a petri dish where a single seed with small hair like spikes all around it placed on the center. This was not the first time he had seen the seed and it was not the first time he had observed it.

His father had told him not to touch it but he was curious to know what it actually was.

His father wouldn't mind if he just poked it, right?

With that thought in mind, Seth walked over and hovered a single finger above the seed and then poked it.

Immediately a he did, Seth regretted it. He felt a pain so stabbing that his entire body froze in one place, from where he got prickled by one of the seeds many hair like thorns, he could feel something begin to enter through it and before Seth could regain his mobility and move his finger away, the seed had already disappeared, leaving only a single droplet of blood.

Seth retracted his entire arm and looked back at the petri dish where nothing was present anymore and only a single droplet of his blood beginning to spread out on the flat surface of it. Seth stood there with a blank look on his face, it was only when he realized that the seed was no longer there did his expression warp into that of terror.

If the seed was no longer on the petri dish, where exactly could it be.

Seth glanced towards his shaking arm and slowly brought it towards his face, Seth didn't want to acknowledges it at the moment but certainly, that seed had somehow entered his body.

Upon that realization, Seth was hit with a violent pain that spread throughout his body, he fell to the ground and clutched his chest, he could feel his heart begin to accelerate, his thoughts beginning to turn chaotic and nonsensible and finally... the feeling of something foreign invading his body.

Seth raised his arm to the ceiling, his mouth open to scream only for nothing to come out and as he began to lose consciousness he heard a strange voice within his mind. "Seth...."

....

The evening had arrived and a boy laying on the floor of a sterile and clean lab opened his eyes, his pupils, green and slightly slitted became was not affected by the bright lights, his hair, a shade of oak was messy and seemed to have been grown out just recently.

The boy sat up and rubbed his eyes, he looked dazed, like he was in a strange dream, it was only after staring at nothing that he had finally returned back to reality.

Events from earlier began rushing back to Seth and he immediately turned towards to look at the petri dish.

It was not a dream as he had thought it would be.

"What are you looking at?" A gentle yet childish voice interrupted Seth's internal monologue. He shifted his eyes towards the source of the sound and what he saw made him confused.

It was a small humanoid creature with green skin and green Seth like eyes wearing a green leaf dress and had long green hair.

There was a lot of green?!

"Who-No what the hell are you?!" Seth said with panic as he tried to swat the strange creature away. The plant like humanoid tilted her head, she didn't dodge Seth's incoming attack but instead melted into his skin and reformed on his head while Seth hit his shoulder painfully, making him wince a little

"Ignoring the fact that you tried to kill me like a bug!!! I am from the memories of you that gave birth to my ego, a symbiotic parasite or what your kind calls an plant beast" The plant girl said though a little bit upset that she almost got squashed by her host the moment he woke up.

Seth's lips twitched, this situation was beyond absurd, how could a seed turn into a miniature... thing. He rubbed hi shoulder and began to calm down a little. "A parasite huh... is that why i felt that i almost died."

The parasite Plant girl closed her eyes with a flat line on her lips. "Yeah, you did almost die, luckily i reached your brain before i completely took over your body."

Seth a felt a shiver run down his spine, it was reassuring that she told him she held back from taking over and potentially killing him but how she said it felt like it didn't matter even if she did.

"Uh why didn't you do it then..." Seth asked, hiding his terror under a calm facade.

The plant girl looked down at him with her eyes squinted, she could clearly feel what he was thinking, she tapped her small finger on his head and replied. "I don't know but my post symbiotic memories says that i became restless every time you came in here and the urge to bond with you grew the longer you stayed, now enough of that, I want a name, Seth."

"A name?" Seth asked befuddled, the situation was getting stranger, the parasite that had now taken residence within his body was asking for a name. The pure strangeness of the situation was giving Seth a reason to fall back unconscious

He stood up and rubbed his forehead with his middle and index finger.

Before he got a headache, he might as well begin to accept the fact that his body no longer belongs to just himself.

He smiled. "What about Thally."

The Plant Parasite girl thought only for a second before replying with a smile. "I like that name, thanks Seth."

"A Plant Parasite is Attached To Me." Seth muttered under his breath but he was smiling despite his words. The future ahead was bound to be eventful.
