I should have felt happy.
But Tara stirred uncomfortably.
My smile faded.
Kaden noticed immediately.
His fingers tightened around mine. “Amelia?”
Tara paced harder.
Something was wrong.
I lifted my head slowly and looked toward the trees at the edge of the clearing. At first I saw nothing. Just guests. Guards. Wind moving the leaves.
Until I felt it again.
That ugly presence I knew too well.
Kaden followed my gaze. His body shifted an inch closer to mine without thought.
“What is it?” he asked.
I swallowed.
Before I could answer, a voice snatched everyone’s attention.
“Hope I didn’t keep my bride waiting?”
Every part of me went cold.
The ceremony stopped.
Heads turned toward the trees, and Blake stepped out with Mara and her men behind him.
He looked like hell had dressed him up and sent him here on purpose. His sleeves pushed carelessly to his forearms.
