Chapter 66 - 66 Hello Mr ....

It turned out that Mr and Mrs Granger were more than capable financially. After Richard set up a meeting between them and Ted by cooperating with Tonks, Ted decided to become a stock investor full time for the next decade.

Richard had told him every thing he knew. Basically what companies would rise and dominate the market. And he also explained the reason for their rise.

If, for some reason they start to deviate from these reasons, Ted Tonks and Grangers had the full right to sell their stocks. He also told them what he knew about the dot com wave.

They had asked him of course as to why he didnt just tell them straight up what was going to happen. Especially Tonks who pestered him to look into the future to get her hands on some lottery cash prizes.

How could he say that all he knew about the future came from past he didnt even remember properly? And it wasn't like he had actually studied the stock market.

His own visions had gone silent once he saw the vision of his wand making him believe that it was a one time thing.

'.... With the remaining materials, I should be able to finish the artifact I'm try to make, so you should be able to make some galleons. So STOP BOTHERING ME FOR LOTTERY NUMBERS'

Richard wrote the last part in capital letters, so that he could get his frustration through, and set his quill aside to let the ink dry.

He would go to the owlery later to post the letter.

On the other side of his table rested Tom Riddle's diary. Since he had done a heroic act of slaying a monster to save the school, he had simply asked Dumbledor for it last year before he left.

Structural identification was a literal cheat code for copying artifacts.

Quidditch season came to an end a few days ago, and Harry and Ron seemed to be in high moods, even if they still avoided Hermione.

Gryffindor won the match. With Harry having a fire bolt, them loosing would actually be an insult to the broom. Richard didnt really care about quidditch. But because of the match, everyone stopped practicing magic. And that pissed him off to no end.

Like what the hell?

He literally gave them undisclosed, undiscovered magic and they dump it aside the very next day to look at people chasing flying balls of cleaning utensils.

Cheh!

After the quidditch match, the trio was back together, at least harry was which reassured Richard. It they aren't together, they are going to die. Period.

Richard followed Crook shanks as they peered through the grass and combed the hills. That coward hadn't appeared anywhere near the castle for nearly a month and both he and Crookshanks were getting frustrated.

If only there was a spell to find where a specific person was..then things would be peachy, and he would definitely not have had to kill more than a dozen rats and rodents only to find they had all twenty toes.

At least Crookshanks had more than enough to eat these days.

Richard gave up and placed his wand back in his holster. He had two ways to get this done. Either get his hands on the marauders map, or actually create a spell to catch hat slimy bastard.

Map was useful, yes. But outside of Hogwarts, it was kind of useless. And Richard truly believed that rat was somewhere outside the castle not because of Crookshanks, but rather the fact that Sirius was lurking inside the castle grounds.

He had caught glimpses of the black dog from time to time. He liked Sirius Black's character a little.

Not the bullying. But the fact that he dared to sort himself to Gryffindor in a house whose surname was literally black.

The bastard rode a magical flying motorcycle, pasted pictures of muggles girls in bikinis in their ancestral home, and used that same home which was related to the 'great cause' that supported Voldermort as the base for the order of the phoenix

Sounds like someone who knew how to have fun

Richard returned to Hogwarts to join everyone on the trip to Hogsmede.

As far as towns go, Hogsmede was stuck in somewhere between a medieval village and a sub urban town.

He ignored the sweets, joke items and the pub, and walked to his target. The Shreaking shack.

Since he couldn't find the bastard, he just had to go find someone who was more 'Motivated.'

He looked at the Shreaking shack for a second, then turned around. Looks like Black wasn't there yet. So he had time to get some stuff and return soon.

Black would always come back here. He was sure. Because wounded animals always return to the place they are most comfortable to lick their wounds.

He returned to Hogsmede, and bought some stuff, and waited....

Hermione was looking for Richard when they arrived at Hogsmede. She knew that he was not happy about the fact that she had gone to watch quidditch while postponing their magic sessions.

In fact he seemed busy. A little too busy to the point it seemed as if he was dodging her intentionally.

He says he's too busy to teach her magic, but it wasn't just one time she has seen him walking around the castle ground with crookshanks.

Well, whatever the reason was, Hermione wanted to speak with him. Besides, Harry wasn't allowed to come to Hogsmede and Ron was outright hostile to her because Scabbers was dead.

She scoffed under her breath.

What part of cays eat rats doesn't he understand? And it wasn't as if he had loved that old wreck of a creature.

He'd been complaining about it from the first year. But suddenly it ends up gone, and that mangy little rodent suddenly becomes the perfect pet.

Her internal monologue paused when she noticed Richard stopping in front of the Shreaking Shack. Now if that wasn't weird enough, Richard looked inside for a few seconds and left, then returned while carrying some bags of food which he didnt eat. He just kept looking at the Shack from afar, as if waiting for someone.

She decided to follow him, despite her feelings telling otherwise. But there was not much she learned by the end of the day. They had all returned to Hogwarts, and nothing significant happened.

But then as she laid on her bed, sleep never came. Questions came without answers, and these questions pushed her to the worst possible conclusion.

'Why was he going to the shreaking shack?'

'Why did he bring food with him? Was he waiting for someone else?'

'Was there someone waiting for him at the shreaking shack?'

Her thoughts drifted to Sirius Black. Black was probably hidden in Hogsmede. And the Shack would be a perfect place for someone to hide.

Black was spotted near hogsmede, black had definitely infiltrated the castle once because the fat lady's portrait had ended up in shreds. And Richard seemed to have developed a verysudden interest in exploring the grounds of Hogwarts all of a sudden.

She tried to dismiss the thoughts. This happened before. Richard might do some things that look wrong, but he'd always been on their side. Even when it seemed otherwise. It was probably another mistake.

She shook her head. The extra classes are probably making her mind a bit paranoid.

But still, she couldn't sleep. And so she walked to the common room and waited there.

She kept her eyes closed, even when her mind raced tirelessly. Sleep was nowhere in sight.

Tap

Tap

Tap

Hermione's eyes snapped open. She could hear the sound of someone walking down the steps. But there was no one there.

Her hand gripped her wand hard, though she didnt move a muscle. Instead, she held her breath, and waited.

The door to the common room opened, and then closed. And Hermione quickly rushed up. She hoped her hunch to be wrong as she opened the door to the Boys dorm.

Flap.

Richard's bed was empty.

And Hermione's brain began to over clock as fear washed in.

.....

That late night, a black dog wobbled its way to the shreaking shack. Upon coming to the door it shifted shape from a mangy black dog to a thin crazed man wearing a prison uniform of faded black and white stripes, covered by a frayed old coat.

Another day wasted.

Sirius Black gnashed his teeth as he pushed the door open with a loud creak.

That rat bastard's always been too good at hiding.

He kicked a chair.

Twelve years. He had twelve years of Azkeban to pay back for little worm tail. And if his body ever gave up before he made that rat pay, he swore to damn himself and become a ghost.

He opened the room to the next door, and a smell wafted through.

There was a kid sitting on the piece of broken furniture he used as his bed.

And he looked as if he was expecting him.

"Hello Mr Black." He greeted him with an unnatural level of calmness. "I hope you don't mind, I sat down for a moment. You were awfully late.." He moved his hand, and a black wand appeared in his hand, shining from the light that came from the waning moon. "So, let's talk business shall we?"
