Chapter 78 - Chapter 077: The Fourth Transaction

Nine months later.

October 10th, 11:20 PM.

Under the cold night sky, Uchiha Yun sat quietly in his room, his eyes fixed on the calendar pinned to the wall. The date glared back at him — the night of the Fourth Transaction.

He turned slightly toward the window. Moonlight poured in, spilling over his desk and the worn tatami mats, silvering the dust motes that drifted lazily in the air.

More than half a year of Anbu missions had forced him to stare into the heart of the ninja world — and it stared back. His worldview had been shattered and rebuilt, piece by piece, into something darker, sharper, and far more dangerous.

No corpses left behind. Eradicate enemies. Conceal. Lurk. Spy. Hunt rogue ninja.

Yun's breath left him in a quiet sigh.

He had officially retired from Anbu yesterday.

Half a year of blood and silence had left its mark, yet he'd clung to one thing — his bottom line.

The line of humanity.

'Are all ninja insane?'

He checked the clock. The second hand crawled toward midnight — the time of activation.

Yun reached under his bed, pressing his palm to a faintly glowing seal. The floor clicked. A secret compartment slid open, and a breath of cold chakra drifted out.

One by one, he lifted the sealed items from their resting place.

The remaining half of Uchiha Obito's arm.

The shed skin of Orochimaru.

Ten tubes of Shisui's blood.

Ten tubes of Itachi's blood.

Two tubes of Kakashi's blood.

A small bundle of Sasuke's hair.

A few strands of Naruto's hair.

And finally—

A black, opaque, tightly bound bag marked with complex Sealing Formulae — Kushina's medium.

The last one pulsed faintly, resonating with traces of sealing chakra and the faint echo of the Nine-Tails' power.

'Uzumaki bloodline, Nine-Tails Jinchūriki chakra, and sealing mastery all in one vessel… no wonder I had no other way to get this.'

If not for the reinforced seals, the residual chakra inside might have blown the entire house apart.

'Damn it, this is ridiculous…'

He muttered the curse aloud, running a hand through his hair. He stared at the pile before him, hesitating.

'Whom do I choose this time?'

He had gathered these mediums one by one through impossible means, each a bridge to another transaction — another exchange of truths and power.

But this time, there was more at stake.

The Kotoamatsukami — the ultimate ability of Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan — still burned in his memory. It had been over six months since he'd last triggered a trade. To let such a power sit idle was wasteful.

'Kaguya or Madara?' he thought wryly. 'Go big or go extinct?'

Madara was nearing the Rinnegan even in Yun's projections, and Itachi too was almost on that edge. Both paths were dangerous.

He exhaled softly. "Hoo…"

Midnight struck.

Yun's gaze hardened. He extended his hand over the items, fingertips gliding lightly across them before stopping on Sasuke's hair.

[Medium failed to trigger.]

Yun frowned. He glanced at the nearby bundle of Naruto's hair.

'Still not enough? Does it need a catalyst, like Pain's black receiver rods?'

His eyes drifted back over the desk — Orochimaru's skin, Obito's tissue, the tubes of blood… and then stopped at Shisui's blood.

That name again.

Kotoamatsukami.

Even after months, the memory of that forbidden genjutsu remained vivid — a technique that could overwrite will itself, rewriting reality in the victim's mind.

He opened one of the ten glass tubes and poured it carefully into the summoning dish.

[Medium failed to trigger.]

He opened another. Then another.

Only when five tubes had been used did the ink seals on the desk begin to tremble.

[Medium triggered.]

[Target locked: S-Rank Ninja – Uchiha Shisui.]

[Enable Shadow Mode?]

'No.'

The room dimmed.

Transaction Space.

Reality bent, folding in on itself like rippling glass. Yun, appearing under the form of Uzumaki Sora, raised a hand. The scenery reformed around him into moonlight over water — the Naka River once again.

When Uchiha Shisui appeared, the current behind him shimmered faintly with chakra.

"Uzumaki Sora?" he asked, his expression composed but wary.

Yun nodded. "The Fourth Hokage should've told you about me. Recall the rules of this space — they're etched into your memory now."

Shisui's eyes closed briefly. When he reopened them, calm acceptance replaced surprise. "You want to make a transaction with me?"

Yun nodded. "Here, you can ask me for anything you wish to know. If you have enough bargaining chips, you can obtain any intelligence you seek."

Shisui said nothing for a long moment. The reflection of the moon rippled between them.

Finally, he looked up. "I have no intelligence I wish to gain." he said simply. "So I won't offer you a single bargaining chip."

Yun tilted his head. "Is it because you don't want to part with your ability? You know exactly what I'm referring to — Kotoamatsukami, don't you?"

Shisui's breath caught, his pupils narrowing. This man—no, this existence—was exactly as the Fourth Hokage had described. One who knew far too much.

"Since you already know about Kotoamatsukami, I won't bother concealing it." Shisui said quietly. "I've decided to take that power with me to the Pure Land."

His gaze hardened. "It shouldn't exist in this world. Even if I desired information desperately, I would not trade with you. Because if you found a way to reduce Kotoamatsukami's cooldown, your existence alone could threaten the entire ninja world."

Yun shook his head lightly, unconcerned. "The calamity that will destroy the ninja world… the method to destroy Konoha… the path for the Uchiha to rise again — all of that knowledge exists here."

"Compared to that," he said with a faint smirk, "Kotoamatsukami is insignificant, isn't it?"

Shisui's eyes softened, pity mingling with sorrow. "No matter what, I cannot trade with you. Some powers should never appear in this world. One day, you'll understand that truth."

The air shimmered, and Shisui's form dissolved into motes of light. He left nothing behind.

The space dimmed, silent once more.

Yun stood still for a long time, expression unreadable.

'He refused… of course he did.'

'How could someone like Shisui ever allow Kotoamatsukami to be replicated?'

Inside the shifting currents of fate...

[Currently Deducing: Uchiha Shisui's Future Trajectory.]

Yun's eyes widened. 'Holy crap…'

He hadn't gained a single bargaining chip — yet because Shisui's fate alteration hit 100%, every draw turned golden.

The second Secret Scroll caught his eye: Secret Scroll: Release.

A rule scroll that could dispel all genjutsu and sealing techniques. Once per day, all such restraints rendered meaningless.

His lips twisted in awe and regret at once. 'That's a power worth nations… and I got it by accident.'

But before he could collect his thoughts—

[Transaction Failed.]

[Detecting Fate Change Outside Exchange Space.]

[Yakushi Kabuto: Fate Change Degree – 100%.]

[Drawing Secret Scrolls...]

[Secret Scroll: Restore]

(Instantly restores everything. Can be used on others.)

*[Note: No bargaining chips required.]

"…?" Yun froze. Then, as the realization hit— "...!!!"

He blinked at the glowing text before him, stunned. 'A consolation reward? For a failed trade?'

If a successful transaction produced results based on chips, then a failed one must draw from external fate changes.

'Kabuto…? Because Orochimaru already defected, and Kabuto stayed in Konoha… Yakushi Nono still alive… so the fate shift reached 100%.'

He flipped through the glowing records again.

[Shisui → Release.]

[Kabuto → Restore.]

'Release and Restore… both rule scrolls tied to complete fate shifts.'

His mind worked furiously. 'So why did Minato's produce Clone? There's a pattern here… but what is it evolving toward?'
