Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Silent Pulse of Fate

Meanwhile — The Human Realm, Citadel City

The tallest structure in the entire city of Citadel pierced the sky like a blade of glass and steel.

Luxarcane Corporation Headquarters.

Even from miles away, the building dominated the skyline—an immense tower of reflective black glass and silver frameworks that caught sunlight by day and glowed faintly at night like a controlled constellation. It was not the main headquarters of the empire, yet it still carried its weight as one of the most powerful operational centers in the human realm.

At the very top floor—where the air felt heavier, quieter, almost enforced—lay the President's Office.

And today, it was not empty.

---

A massive curved screen filled one entire wall.

A global video conference was in progress.

On one side stood the President of Luxarcane Citadel Branch—Kael Draven Viremont, an Alpha serving directly under Corvius authority. Even in his tailored suit and controlled posture, there was a subtle tension in his shoulders. He was powerful—but not free.

Opposite him, seated like rulers who did not need introduction, were the four figures whose presence alone shifted the atmosphere.

The Lycan Kings of Corvius.

Their names were not spoken casually.

They were spoken like warnings.

Like fate.

---

Erebos Corvius sat still, his presence swallowing light rather than reflecting it. Dark eyes, unreadable and endless, observed without emotion but with absolute authority.

Beside him was Cernunnos Corvius, calm and unnervingly patient, as though he had already calculated every possible outcome of the world and found it predictable.

To his right sat Fenrir Corvius, intensity barely contained, his power always just beneath the surface—like a storm waiting for permission to destroy.

And last, Theron Corvius, the most controlled of them all. Silent observation, precise thinking, and a gaze that never stayed still for too long—always analyzing, always sensing.

Together, they did not appear like men.

They appeared like rulers the world had no choice but to obey.

---

Around them, other Alpha kings were connected through secured channels from their respective territories, their presence displayed across the vast conference system like shadows bound to a single command.

Lucian Voss, the North Territory Alpha, remained cold and analytical, his expression unreadable as he observed everything without a single flicker of emotion, calculating outcomes in silence rather than words.

In the East, Darian Kaelthorne sat with composed precision, a strategist by nature, his attention fixed on structure, balance, and control, always thinking several steps ahead even in moments of uncertainty.

From the South Territory came Ronan Ashveil, physically imposing and sharp-eyed, his reputation built on brutal efficiency in battle, yet beneath that violence lay unwavering loyalty to Corvius authority, making him one of the most dependable enforcers among the Alphas.

And in the West, Silas Graven remained the quietest of them all, his presence almost subdued compared to the others, but his sensitivity to supernatural disturbances made him invaluable, often the first to detect irregularities in energy shifts long before anyone else could understand their meaning.

Each of them waited in silence, aware that something about this meeting was different.

Normally, only one king attended.

Today—all four were present.

No one had explained why.

And no one dared ask.

---

Kael Draven cleared his throat carefully. "All operational territories report stable progress. No major breaches in human concealment protocols. Surveillance expansion continues as instructed."

A pause.

The air felt heavier.

Fenrir leaned slightly forward. "Search operations."

Kael straightened. "Yes, my lord?"

Erebos spoke without moving. "No progress?"

Kael hesitated for half a second. "We have expanded scanning zones across multiple human sectors. Including metropolitan clusters and—"

"Insufficient," Cernunnos interrupted calmly.

Silence tightened instantly.

Theron finally spoke.

His voice was quiet—but absolute.

"Today's readings changed."

The Alpha executives across all regions went still.

Fenrir's gaze sharpened. "Explain."

Theron's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Restlessness increased across all four regions," he said. "Tracking patterns destabilized this morning."

Kael frowned. "Destabilized…?"

Erebos's gaze darkened. "Meaning."

Theron paused.

Then—

"Something is near."

The room froze.

Even the Alphas across remote channels stopped breathing for a moment.

---

Cernunnos leaned slightly forward, studying unseen data streams. "You believe she is in the human realm."

Not a question.

An observation.

Theron did not deny it.

"Yes."

One word.

Heavy.

Final.

Fenrir's fingers tightened slightly. "After a hundred years of silence…"

Erebos finished quietly, "…Now she stirs."

Kael swallowed. "My lords, if there is even a confirmed trace—"

"There is no trace," Fenrir cut in sharply. "There is certainty."

The room temperature felt like it dropped.

---

From the northern channel, Lucian Voss spoke first. Calm. Controlled.

"If she is active, then the probability of her presence in dense human civilization increases significantly."

From the east, Darian Kaelthorne followed. "We should narrow urban surveillance grids. Focus on high-population emotional energy zones."

From the south, Ronan Ashveil added bluntly, "If she is alive, we will find her."

From the west, Silas Graven spoke last, quieter than the rest. "Disturbances have increased since this morning. I felt it too."

That made the room shift slightly.

Because Silas was never wrong.

---

Theron closed his eyes for a brief moment.

When he opened them again, something had changed in his expression.

"…She is closer than before."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

---

Erebos finally spoke. "Continue operations. Expand human realm surveillance."

Cernunnos added softly, "No delay."

Fenrir's voice followed like a command carved in stone.

"Find her."

Kael bowed his head immediately. "Understood, my kings."

---

The call should have ended.

But it didn't.

Because all four kings suddenly went still.

A pressure.

A pull.

A shift.

Something none of them had felt in a long time—something buried beneath centuries of restraint—stirred at the same exact moment.

Theron's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…Did you feel that?"

Fenrir exhaled slowly. "Yes."

Cernunnos's gaze sharpened. "It increased."

Erebos said nothing—but the faint change in his aura was enough.

Kael frowned. "My lords?"

But none of them answered.

Because for a brief, unexplainable moment—

something in the human realm had responded.

And far away, unseen by them all…

an ambulance carried a girl whose existence had just begun to fracture the boundary between worlds.
