Chapter 25 - Such A Man

Liya was stunned when Tosyiba suddenly snapped at her.

Without waiting for another word, she turned on her heel and stormed back to her car, slamming the door shut.

Her breathing was uneven. Her hands were still shaking from anger.

But the moment she sat down—

A Jeep roared out of nowhere.

Too fast.

Too direct.

BOOM—!

The impact shook the entire area.

"Ahhh!" Liya screamed as her body jerked forward in terror.

The Jeep crashed straight into the left side of her Mercedes with devastating force. Metal screamed, glass shattered, and the luxury car buckled inward like paper under pressure.

The left passenger side was completely crushed—so violently it nearly pinned her in place.

Silence fell over the street.

Everyone froze.

Then panic.

From a black executive Bentley nearby, Reina rushed out immediately.

Her eyes widened at the wreck—

and then locked onto the man stepping out of the Jeep.

Rui Griffin.

Behind him, his entourage emerged in perfect formation, like shadows obeying a single will.

The atmosphere changed instantly.

Recognition spread through the crowd like wildfire.

Master Griffin.

A man whose name alone carried weight that even governments treated with caution.

Even the police present stiffened instinctively, none daring to step forward.

Liya stumbled out of the wrecked Mercedes, furious and shaken.

"Hubby!" she screamed. "I almost died!"

She pointed trembling fingers straight at Rui Griffin.

"It's him! He tried to kill me!"

The street went silent again.

Even the wind felt afraid to move.

Rui Griffin stood still.

Cold. Imposing. Unmoved.

His gaze swept over her once—then away, as if she wasn't even worth his attention.

Someone in the crowd whispered in disbelief.

"Does she even know who she's pointing at…?"

Everyone knew.

His face was everywhere—media, politics, corporate circles.

And everyone also knew one thing:

When Rui Griffin acted, consequences followed.

Liya turned to the police.

"You're just going to stand there? He attempted murder!"

But no one moved.

Not a single officer dared respond.

The pressure around Rui Griffin alone was enough to silence authority itself.

Then he finally spoke.

Calm. Low. Dangerous.

"As a man, you should learn to control your woman."

His eyes shifted slightly toward Tosyiba.

"Otherwise, she won't live long enough to regret her behavior."

Tosyiba stiffened.

It felt like standing in front of something far beyond influence or wealth—

something absolute.

Liya's rage flared again.

"Hubby! He attacked me! I am your wife!"

But Tosyiba didn't answer.

He couldn't.

His mind was still trying to comprehend what kind of person he was facing.

Rui Griffin didn't linger.

He walked forward with steady steps.

Then stopped in front of Reina.

Without hesitation, he pulled her gently into his arms.

"You're shaken," he said, voice instantly softer.

The contrast was striking.

The same man who made the entire street silent… was now careful with her.

Then his tone dropped again—cold and commanding.

"Destroy the car."

A pause.

Then he added:

"Assistant Sian. Prepare legal action. Defamation. Road safety violation. Blacklist her from driving. She is a danger to civilians."

"Yes, Master Griffin," Assistant Sian replied immediately.

The order was executed without delay.

His bodyguards moved in.

Liya's eyes widened in horror.

"No—don't you dare—!"

But it was already happening.

The Mercedes was smashed further, metal folding under controlled force until it looked beyond repair.

"No! My car!" she screamed, watching it reduced to a crushed wreck.

Tosyiba stood frozen as Assistant Sian stepped forward and handed him a cheque.

Half a billion.

His fingers trembled slightly.

Even as the heir of the Sheba family, he had never been handed power in such a direct, dismissive way.

This wasn't compensation.

It was domination disguised as generosity.

His pride cracked under the weight of it.

Across the scene, Liya continued shouting.

"You think you can touch the Sheba family? My husband is the heir! You'll all regret this!"

Tosyiba's expression twisted.

She didn't understand.

She was dragging them deeper into something they could not control.

Rui Griffin tilted his head slightly.

A faint, almost amused expression crossed his face.

"Interesting."

That single word made the air heavier.

Even the police lowered their gaze further.

This wasn't arrogance.

It was certainty.

He raised his hand slightly.

"Bring the lawyers. Let them handle the rest."

Assistant Sian nodded.

"The Griffin legal team will arrive shortly. You may present your claims to them."

Reina remained in his arms, silent.

But something inside her shifted.

For the first time in a long time—

she felt safe.

Protected.

Not alone.

Then she felt it.

A tear slipped down her cheek.

Rui Griffin noticed immediately.

His expression darkened.

"Who did this?"

His voice softened—but only for her.

"Did they bully you?"

Reina hesitated.

That hesitation was enough.

His gaze turned cold again as it landed on Liya and Tosyiba.

"Answer me."

The pressure in the air dropped instantly.

This time, even the crowd felt it—

something far worse was about to begin.
