Chapter 31 - Rage!

"Breaking news, breaking news!" a journalist was shouting as he threw newspapers in the middle of a city called Gladax.

A crowd of people gathered around the journalist as he shouted, trying to catch the newspapers he was throwing at them.

"Oh my God, Anvil has fallen!"

"How could this happen? This is a disaster!"

"Two million people killed in a single night, oh God have mercy."

Everyone was in shock as they read the news about what had happened in Anvil.

The city of Edoria and the other cities were no different, everyone was terrified and shocked by the news.

A man with black hair, a black mustache, and a black beard was reading the news in his hand while sipping a cup of tea.

"Francis really got a golden opportunity after that incident," he said, drinking from his cup.

A girl who was lying naked on the bed beside replied to him,

"Ahaha, surly many would want to join his faction after what happened in Anvil."

"We need to find another way to attract more saints, don't we, Bella?" He said as he was annoyed by the news.

Bella got up from her bed, picking up her clothes from the floor. "Do something, aren't you a powerful saint like him, Alexander?"

Alexander cracked his neck before answering, "The White Faction is currently facing some issues, and I'm really busy as the leader."

"I'll leave the solutions to you, Saint Bella," Alexander smiled.

Bella sighed as she dressed. "Alright, I'll look into it."

-----------------------------

In Lucaria, the situation was disastrous.

Because the remaining residents of Anvil had fled to Lucaria, the place was chaotic and overcrowded.

Even though only about 5% of the city's population remained, it was still a huge number of people.

These refugees were already under the protection of several Awakened whom Francis had sent before entering Anvil.

"why that happend… why?! Why?!"

"I'm sorry this happened to you. Please, don't cry, ma'am."

"Come this way, we'll give you some food and clothing."

Lucaria's guards guided the refugees and took the necessary steps to care for them.

Meanwhile, at the academy's gate, Jin was kneeling, staring at the ground in shock.

"No… this can't be… why? Why did this happen?" he muttered angrily.

Then Jin stood up and sprinted out of the city.

He recognized many of the refugees in the area, having met a lot of them during his work with Adrian.

An old man spotted him and called out, "Adrian's grandson! Thank goodness you're alright!"

Jin moved toward the voice "Tell me what happened there quickly!"

"What do you mean? Weren't you there with us?" the old man asked, confused.

"No, I wasn't," Jin replied. "I left Anvil three months ago! So please, just tell me what happened."

A deep sorrow crossed the old man's face. "Sit beside me, and I'll tell you."

Jin sat down, and the old man began recounting in detail everything that had happened in Anvil before he fled with the refugees.

Then he told jin what he'd heard from other soldiers about what happened afterward during their escape.

jin's expression darkened, then he gripped the old man's shoulder, staring at him in horror. "Elena… Is Commander Elena alright?!"

"What about Morgan and Sai? Tell me what happened to them!?"

The old man replied, wincing from Jin's strong grip on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry to tell you this boy, but everyone who remained in Anvil was killed, including all the leaders and soldiers… And please let go of my shoulder, your hand really hurts."

Jin let go of the old man and started to feel dizzy.

He was shocked and his heart was heavy with grief, feeling a burning pain as he remembered Elena and others

"fuck.. why you died too?"

Jin almost cried, but he held himself together so no one would see him as weak. Then he went back to his room in the dorm.

Elena meant a lot to Jin. He'd never felt a mother's warmth before, but even though Elena only cared for him for a short two months, her kindness and care were enough for him to grow deeply attached to her, to love her like a mother he never had.

He went into his room, closed the door, flopped onto the bed, and let himself cry.

"Damn it, damn it… why do you all have to die… why does this keep happening?!" he bit his lip so hard it bled.

He remembered his grandfather's last moments and how he died…

"Ah… it's my fault he died… if I'd just followed orders, he wouldn't have lost his leg… if I'd listened to him, he wouldn't be dead!" Jin shouted in anger.

"If I'd been able to escape back then, he wouldn't have had to sacrifice himself for me. I'm so pathetic!"

Tears in his eyes quickly turned into pure rage.

His eyes burned with anger. "I swear I'll kill them all… I swear I won't leave a single one alive… I swear I'll destroy every chaotic being out there!" Jin kept punching his pillow, crying and shaking angerly.

In that moment of anger, he suddenly heard a voice inside him laughing. "Bwahaha."

Jin stopped hitting the pillow and listened to the laughter around him.

The voice was new... he had never heard it before.

He shouted, glaring around the room, "Who are you? Why are you laughing? And where the hell are you, you bastard?"

The unknown voice asked, "Do you want power?"

"Fuck you! Who are you?!" Jin yelled.

"Quiet, you fool, You have no right to know who I am," the voice replied.

"Look at yourself… how pathetic and weak you are."

Jin gritted his teeth. "Are you that fucking paper?"- he meant Amon's guard.

The voice laughed. "Hahaha! Don't confuse me with an inferior being, human."

Jin's anger flared. "What do you mean?"

The voice answered, "Ask me one more question, and I'll kill you."

Suddenly, Jin felt a sharp pain in his chest that made him collapse onto the bed.

He tried to scream, but no sound came out.

"Answer me… do you want to gain power?" the voice asked again.

Jin pressed on his chest as the pain in his heart was unbearable.

Then Jin spoke in a sharp tone, mixed with pain and anger "Power? Give it all to me… give me everything. I'll kill them all… then I'll kill you, you son of a bitch."

The voice in his head laughed. "Well done, you little worm."

At that moment, everything around Jin changed. The pain in his chest vanished.

He felt a strange sensation spreading through his body, like something inside him was shifting.

"Ding!" Jin heard the sound of a girl ringing inside his head.

"Ding! Congratulations, your stats have increased."

"Ding! Congratulations, your title has changed."

"Ding! Congratulations, you have met the requarments"

"Ding! Congratulations, you have unlocked hidden features."

Jin swallowed hard, shocked as he took all the information flooding his mind.

Then a paper appeared in front of him.

"Do you want to check your stats? [Yes / No]"

Jin hesitated for a moment, then replied, "Yes."

The writing on the paper changed, revealing his stats:

─────────────────────────

[ Statistics ]

*Title: Corrupted

*Rank: Reborn Entity

*Artifacts: 0/1

*Weapons: 0/1

*Summons: 0/1

*Kills: 4 / 500

*Ancient Souls: 0/5

*Mana: 20/20

*Souls Army: 0/50000

─────────────────────────

Jin's eyes widened in shock.

"Huh? …" he swallowed hard, struggling to process it.

He stared at the new information in front of him.

"Rank: 'Reborn Entity'? What does that even mean?"

"Ancient Souls 0/5??"

"Wait, wait, wait… what did that voice do? How did I get all this?"

He looked over the other stats, still in disbelief. "My mana… it's 20/20 ?"

Then his eyes widened even more when he saw his last stat."What?! An army of 50000 souls?!"

"Hey, you fucking voice! Tell me… what does all this mean?" Jin shouted, but there was no answer.

"Yo paper tell me what does this mean?"

But for the first time the paper didn't respond to him.

"Close the stats ," Jin said, as the paper vanished.

Jin took a deep breath "I can still control the papaer function… but I can't talk to Amon's guard anymore…"

He sat on the edge of his bed, thinking about what had just happened to him and everything that went down in Anvil.

That night, he also kept wondering how he even gained his powers in the first place.

More questions flooded his mind like how did his grandfather know about this powerful spirit? And why did he give it to Jin?

Before Adrian's death on that night, his grandfather ordered him to destroy his rusted sword by summoning a being called the" O Immortal Spirit".

Jin wiped his tears. "This is a good chance… I swear, from today on, I won't leave a single one of them alive...."
