Yin Ruo swayed her snake-like waist as she stepped forward, taking Beite's hand and following Joanna's pace.
...
In the attic, "Mr. Han" sat in the wheelchair asleep, the not-so-spacious room was lifeless.
"Pei Han!"
Joanna rushed in and shouted loudly.
The person in the wheelchair seemed not to hear, with no response at all.
"Pei Han, your daughter is here!" Joanna ran to the wheelchair, shaking "Mr. Han" vigorously, "Wake up, weren't you looking for your daughter? I'll connect to her on video now."
The person in the wheelchair finally raised his head, his lifeless eyes had no focus but accurately met Joanna's gaze.
Joanna was startled, an ominous feeling welled up inside her: "Pei Han, I'm truly letting you see your daughter this time."
"Really?"
The lips of "Mr. Han" moved, the familiar voice made Joanna sigh in relief.
"Of course!" Joanna looked for her phone, but she was wearing pajamas, without her phone.
