Chapter 337 Paperwork
Aleshia began stretching after getting through half the stack of paperwork and muttered, "This is really taking me back," followed by a groan. Rebel, who was working hard on her own stack next to her, looked up, surprised, and asked with confusion, "Huh? You've done something like this before?" Rebel paused her work and turned to Aleshia, who had returned to the paperwork.
Aleshia nodded as her eyes scanned the remaining documents. "Yeah, something like this," she said with a touch of melancholy, recalling her distant and confusing past.
As she worked on the paperwork that Daniel had prepared, she reminisced about the numerous forms she had filled out and the papers she had written in the past. Back then, she was stewing with grudges about the tedious nature of it all. However, now, she didn't have any negative thoughts about the work she was doing. She understood its purpose and recognized who would benefit from her efforts as she continued filing the paperwork.
As Rebel watched Aleshia working, she remarked with admiration, "You must be really experienced. I haven't been able to go through that many documents as quickly as you have. What is your secret to getting them done so fast?" Rebel asked, genuinely wanting to understand her methods, especially since she understood how much slower she was at this task.
Aleshia paused her work and looked up at Rebel. "It's all about experience," she explained. "I've done this so much that I know exactly what to look for. You'll reach my speed if you keep up this pace. And don't worry about it; take your time. There's no need to rush. We definitely don't want any documents that could put us at a disadvantage or spread incorrect information, right?"
Rebel nodded and went back to her work, feeling relieved and more motivated. The weight on her shoulders had lifted, and she no longer felt rushed or stressed. After stretching her arms lightly, she concentrated on the tasks in front of her.
After several hours of hard work, Rebel began to feel tired and yawned a few times. Noticing her fatigue, Daniel said, "You should go to sleep. I don't want you collapsing from exhaustion, and this work can wait until you are well-rested, alright?" He spoke with concern.
"No, no, I can keep working," Rebel responded through another yawn. "I don't need sleep if you're here, continuing to work on this."
Aleshia suspected that this conversation had happened many times before. She silently watched on while trying to look busy with the paperwork. Daniel stood up from his chair and said, "No, you have to go to bed. I don't want you sleeping in that chair; it won't be good for you."
