Xandra's POV:
Honestly, my first instinct was to hug him tight. But after the first rush of happiness, I felt sadness and betrayal like no other. So I was like,
"Well...".
He looked troubled and undecided.
"Actually, I...". Then I heard Drey's voice as he walked forward with Jade.
"We want to tell you something Diamond".
Tears rushed into my eyes. Although I was very traumatised by the events the other day and my memories were fragmented, there's no way I would forget seeing my brother, I really saw him.
Every time I remembered, I would feel like I'm dreaming. Although I know Max is alive and is Shawn, which I realised late, I never expected Drey is alive too.
I dreamt about them all through my coma, I wanted to see them again when I woke up but I was disappointed. Seemed they'd disappeared again,no one talked about them.
I was hopeful, that they'd come back to me soon enough. They'd miss me and come to me. Max would want to see his little one born and Drey,his niece/nephew.
I waited even after birth, I wanted them to be there when I gave our babies their names, we'd choose names together. But I was disappointed time and again until I finally lost hope and woke up from my beautiful dream. But now they are right back in front of me.
I actually understood that they did what they had to do to protect their loved ones but it didn't stop me from feeling betrayed and pained. But I'd forgiven Max long ago and was even happy when I found Drey was alive too.
But, want to have my little revenge on them for making me wait so much.
"Drey? No right?". I whimpered.
" I,I, let's explain alright?". He stammered.
"Explain? Why I'm seeing a ghost in front of me? Are you trying to imitate my precious brother? Don't you dare feed me those lies, I saw him got buried, I saw his body". I burst into tears.
It was easy for me to cry because I was already feeling teary from all the emotion buildup.
" No,no,no, I'm not trying to imitate him, I'm him,ok? We,huh? We didn't actually die then. Even Max".
What stupid lies are you telling? They were both buried right in front of me.
" Let's tell you what happened first,ok?".
" Yes,tell me, I want to hear your stupid lies".
I didn't even invite them to sit and they didn't dare to either. Only Jade wanted to but he stood back up after a hard glare from me.
Mira sat still looking down with a guilty gaze. I guessed she must have found out they were alive too but didn't tell me. I didn't tell her either and I understand why we didn't tell each other,we each wanted to carry the weight of the truth alone.
"Before the incident that day,we already found out that the Boss of the 5 star underground that we were dealing with wasn't actually the boss and your life and other's life would continue to be in danger if we didn't curb the problem from the root.
We weren't actually expecting them to take action so fast when they kidnapped you guys so our plans weren't in place yet but we managed to come up with something.
We'd pretend to die and investigate them in secret, they would touch you too if we were no longer alive. So they had me wear a full body bulletproof suit. It was skin thin and very durable.
So when I was shot in the head,it was just superficial injury and nothing too serious, although the blood could deceive someone to believe otherwise.
Max wasn't actually part of the plan initially,he was supposed to exchange me with a fake body and hand over the real me to our men before he came back and announce my death. But after sending me out and wanted to place the fake body,one of the men who hadn't died completely set the place on fire.
Max sustained heavy casualties and barely survived. He had to under surgery immediately and even plastic surgery because his face was heavily damaged. And that actually worked in our favour.
But the idiot, just two days after the surgery and he regained consciousness,he immediately came to find you. He fainted right after he came back that day.
We could have finished earlier and come back to you,but we found there was more than just 5 star underground after your life. We had to take care of everything and make sure you are safe. I'm really sorry Diamond,that we put you through all this ".
I was a sobbing mess by this time, I was barely holding Felix properly. Mira didn't have it better. Jade had to take the babies from us so they wouldn't get hurt.
I kept sobbing and sobbing for how long, I didn't know. Mira hugged me and rocked me and I, I sobbed even harder. Max came to hug me from the other side. And Drey came too. They all kept hugging me till I lost consciousness from crying too much.
I wasn't crying because I was sad. It was because I was happy. I was so happy, I hadn't been that happy in a long time.
