"How could you do this to me? I thought you loved me!"
Raven's voice broke as she stood outside the enormous mansion, soaked from head to toe beneath the pouring rain.
Her hands trembled against the door.
She had just returned from the hospital with the worst news of her life.
Her mother was dead.
The woman who had raised her, protected her, and remained beside her through every humiliation was gone.
And before Raven could even process her grief, she had discovered something far worse.
Her mother's death had not been an accident.
Bella her wife, the woman Raven had loved and trusted with every part of her heart had been involved.
And Jeff, Raven's stepbrother, had been involved too.
Raven pounded desperately against the door.
"Bella! Please! Just open the door!"
For several seconds, there was nothing.
Then the door finally opened.
But it wasn't Bella.
Jeff stood there.
He looked completely calm.
Almost amused.
Raven stared at him through tear-filled eyes.
"Jeff… what are you doing here?"
He leaned against the doorway.
"Why are you surprised?"
"Where's Bella?"
"She'll be out soon."
Raven's heart sank.
"What does that mean?"
Jeff smiled.
"You really are clueless, Raven."She stared at him.
"What are you talking about?"
He stepped closer.
"Everything that happened was planned."
Raven's breathing stopped.
"What?"
"Your mother's death. Your inheritance. Your properties. Even Bella."
Her lips parted.
"No…"
Jeff laughed softly.
"You honestly believed Bella loved you?"
Raven shook her head.
"You're lying."
"Am I?"
He pulled out several documents.
"Your mother left you almost everything. The estates. The investments. The company shares. All of it."
His smile widened.
"But we couldn't allow that."
Raven felt as though the ground beneath her had disappeared.
Then Bella appeared behind him.
Raven's heart shattered the moment their eyes met.
"Bella…"
Bella said nothing.
She simply held out a document.
"Sign it."
Raven looked down.
Divorce papers.
Her hands began to shake.
"You're divorcing me?"
Bella's expression remained cold.
"Sign."
"After everything we've been through?"
Bella looked away.
"It's over."
Raven's eyes filled with tears.
"I loved you."
"I know."
"Then how could you do this to me?"
Bella didn't answer.
Jeff stepped forward.
"Sign the papers, Raven."
"I won't."
Jeff's expression hardened.
"You don't have a choice."
After several minutes of threats and pressure, Raven finally picked up the pen.
With tears running down her face, she signed.
The moment she finished, Jeff took the papers from her.
"Good."
Raven looked at Bella one last time.
She desperately wanted her wife to say something.
Anything.
An apology.
A confession.
Even a lie.
But Bella remained silent.
Then Jeff turned toward the guards.
"Get her out."
Raven barely had time to react.
The first blow sent her crashing to the ground.
Pain exploded through her body.
"Stop!"
Another blow followed.
Raven curled herself into a ball, trying to protect her face.
She couldn't understand what was happening.
This couldn't be real.
These were the people she had trusted.
Her family.
Her wife.
The people who were supposed to protect her were destroying her.
Eventually, the guards dragged her toward the gate and threw her onto the pavement.
The massive gates closed behind her.
Raven lay there in the rain, staring at the house she had once called home.
For the first time in her life, she felt completely alone.
But beneath the heartbreak, something else began to awaken.
Anger.
She slowly pushed herself up.
"I swear…"
Her voice trembled.
"I swear I'll take everything back."
She wiped the rain and tears from her face.
"And I will make every single one of you regret what you did to me."
Raven didn't know it yet, but that night was the end of the woman she used to be.
A passerby eventually found her unconscious and rushed her to the hospital.
She remained there for a week.
During those seven days, Raven made a decision.
She would leave.
She would disappear.
And she would return only when she was strong enough to destroy everyone who had betrayed her.
After her mother's funeral, Raven left the country.
She didn't say goodbye.
She didn't look back.
She simply boarded the plane with one promise burning in her heart.
She would return.
And when she did, Raven would no longer be the repressed Alpha everyone had looked down on.
She would become the woman they feared.
Five Years Later
Raven stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of her Chicago office, staring down at the city.
The woman reflected in the glass was almost unrecognizable.
Powerful.
Elegant.
Cold.
She wore a perfectly tailored black suit, her expression unreadable.
Behind her, an assistant carefully placed a folder on the desk.
"Everything is ready, ma'am."
Raven didn't turn around.
"Good."
The assistant hesitated.
"Are you certain you want to return to Blackwood Heights?"
Raven's lips curved into the faintest smile.
"Absolutely."
She finally turned around.
Her eyes were cold.
"It's time to go home."
And somewhere deep inside her, the repressed Alpha she had spent years trying to understand stirred awake.
Raven smiled.
This time, she wasn't going back as the abandoned wife.
She was going back as the woman who would take everything from them
