Chapter 6 - 6. The Card Guy

The boy showed the card to me, and indeed, he was telling the truth. The number on the card and mine have the same digits. It seems he interchanged the last three digits. Mine is 609, while the one on the card is 906. A faint sense of relief mixed with curiosity ran through my mind as I processed this small but important detail.

Its design was a bit tacky. I checked the name on it to see if it's anyone that I may know, but it didn't ring a bell. I bet that the one who gave him the card may not be all that affluent. The boy shifted slightly under my gaze, fidgeting with the blanket.

Otherwise, I should be able to recognise him just by his name. I mean, this is the type of training that my dad had me go through at work. He had drilled into me the importance of knowing influential figures, business magnates, and political players.

I am made to learn about most of the important figures in the business and political worlds. I would know if this man were among them. My eyes briefly scanned the boy again, noting his careful movements and alert expression.

I gave the boy a once-over. Indeed, his appearance is very appealing. Whoever gave him this card sure has good taste. His cheeks flushed faintly as he realized I was staring, but there was nothing predatory in my gaze—just observation.

I mean, if just his pictures are able to get even a straight man like myself that hard, like it happened at home and just now, then I won't blame the other guy for going after this young boy. I felt a strange mix of admiration and possessiveness tug at me.

But I don't know why I hate the thought of that. I wish this boy would not have anything to do with whoever it was that gave him the card, despite the fact that I have that guy and fate to thank for connecting me with him. A faint frown crossed my features as I considered the implications.

I had come here because of my doubts as to whether this person is real. Not that there aren't others that are as beautiful, but this one's too captivating. Even in the dim light, his features were precise, almost ethereal.

And a little part of me still believes that this could be a trap set by someone to create a scandal for me. I kept my stance cautious, still holding a small distance to gauge his reactions.

I know that, as the heir apparent of Kimland Group, I have as many enemies as admirers. But since everything that he says checks out, I have no choice but to accept his word for now. My mind was cautious, weighing every possibility, but the sincerity in his posture and words softened my skepticism.

"I'm truly very sorry. And thank you for coming. Because I wouldn't have been able to tell that I had sent it to the wrong person." He sighed and handed my phone back to me. The tremor in his voice betrayed lingering embarrassment.

I have some theories, but I still wanted to ask what his relationship is with the guy who gave him the card. My eyes followed him, curious to see any reaction or slip that might confirm my assumptions.

Narrator…

Byeong Ho was curious and wanted to ask what his relationship with the man who gave the card was about, but Doyun's words broke him from his thoughts. He let out a small breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding.

"Thank goodness! I thought he had changed his mind. Ah. I was worried for nothing. It's late now, so I'll try to contact him again tomorrow. Wait, can I have your phone? I need to delete those pictures." Doyun got off the bed. The movement made the blanket shift slightly, exposing a bit more of his lower legs.

He went and stood beside the other guy. He stretched forth his hand, asking for Byeong Ho's phone, but he was quicker and kept it at his back, away from Doyun's reach. His body tensed, almost instinctively, ready to pull away if needed.

"Why? You want to delete the photos from my phone?" Byeong Ho asked Doyun, who was now towering over him as Byeong Ho was still on the bed, with his phone tucked behind his back. His voice carried a mix of suspicion and lingering irritation.

He used his free hand to stop Doyun from reaching the phone. The small motion was firm, signaling he wouldn't give it up easily.

"Yes, I should. It's dangerous for me to have my nudes on someone else's device." Doyun explained. His tone was calm but insistent, eyes locking on Byeong Ho's as if trying to make him understand the seriousness.

Byeong Ho rolled his eyes at his statement. 'Why? Is he now seeing the stupidity of his actions? Or is he saying this because I was the one that got them and not that card guy?' This thought made him somewhat bitter. He shifted on the bed, trying to reconcile the conflicting emotions.

So he asked, "Why? Weren't you already planning to send them to the one who gave you his calling card? Or are they only for him then? Why?

Because you think he's rich and I'm not?" He was quite annoyed about this. Though he couldn't even understand why. His eyebrows knitted together as he waited for an explanation.

His mind started to create a picture of this boy and another guy together in bed, and he didn't like that one bit. A small shiver ran down his spine at the thought, and he instinctively drew his legs slightly up to cover himself.

'Were these two going to do what his mind is conjuring up if fate had not interfered for the misdial to occur?' He thought to himself, but before his mind could go off, Doyun answered his question earlier. His voice snapped him back to reality.

"No. Not anymore. That was a wrongful judgement made in my moment of weakness. This mistake has been an eye-opener. I will not be sending my nudes to him or anyone. It's too dangerous for me.

If he loses interest because I wouldn't send him any nudes, then I guess I'll have to find someone else." Doyun answered his question. His brain was still working out which of his male admirers he should consider next, though he said nothing more on it aloud.

Byeong sighed in relief and smiled as his mood lightened up. Knowing that no one else will get to see those spicy pictures that only he is now privy to brought a quiet satisfaction to him.

But something else that Doyun said caught his attention, making his mood go dark all of a sudden. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he folded his arms over his chest.

"Wait, what do you mean? Don't tell me that you're still going to reach out to the guy to come and sleep with you. Tell me I didn't get that right. Right?"

Doyun decided to say it as it is. "Of course! That's the plan. Why else do you think I would've sent these? Just for the sake of it? Really? Are you dumb?" He leaned slightly forward, eyes unwavering, voice firm but teasing.

"What?! So you really are going to ask him to come and fuck you, aren't you?" His words felt quite blunt, but that's the truth. There's no need to beat about the bush.

"Duh! What do you think? Wasn't my point clear enough from my messages? Had I not made a mistake, I'm sure he would've been the one here and not you." Doyun answered. He was getting quite annoyed with this guy's silly questions, though he remained composed.

"Why?" Byeongho asked. His voice is a bit quiet as his mind is trying to make sense of what is going on. He glanced down at his hands, twisting them nervously.

"Why what?" Doyun prompted, waiting patiently but still curious about his reaction.

"Why are you trying to call another guy to come and sleep with you? You had made mention of a deal between you two. What's that deal about? Is it about money or a job?" His words carried a mix of suspicion and cautious inquiry, eyes narrowing slightly.
