Caspian made his way to Rae's room, it had been roughly an hour since Asher kissed him goodbye, he no longer slept in like he always did.
Caring for the injured teenager gave him purpose, so although it was still fairly early in the morning, he went to see him first thing.
Jael had nothing to say about Rae at dinner, and Caspian didn't quite know how to bring it up, so everything had gone unsaid.
He knocked lightly and then tentatively pushed open the door without waiting for a response. Rae was still recovering from a terrible injury so it was more than likely that he was still fast asleep, but Caspian had been worried.
Asher hadn't let him out of his sight after they returned at dinnertime the day before, so he didn't know how Rae had fared during the night.
Caspian paused at the doorway when he caught sight of the injured teenager sitting up listlessly in bed. "I'm sorry for barging in," He apologized quietly. "I didn't want to interrupt your sleep."
