Chapter 22 - Chapter 21: Around The World!

Just a few minutes ago:

A frigid, blue blur flashed through the green plains at breakneck speeds. A couple of horse-like beasts ran together; their powerful legs and heavy hooves thundered against the ground. Smoke drifting into the air as they moved like a stampede.

That was until a flash of blue light slipped right past them.

They both came to a clean stop, their big eyes nearly popping out from their sockets.

But this blur was nobody other than Skysin, rushing throughout the area, searching for Crim. Looking for the Vale Guild where they planned to meet at.

'Where the hell is that place again??' Skysin asked himself, speeding through the woods in an instant, already running across the shoreline of a large, glistening lake. 'That receptionist said the Vale Guild was south, right?? Let's try that.'

Skysin appeared near more mountains.

Not here.

A huge cave that leads deeper underground.

Not here either.

Skysin suddenly flashed right beside a humongous reptilian animal, standing high into the sky. A wide body with huge muscular legs, a long, broad tail and neck. The head reaches almost a hundred feet into the air!

Skysin tilted his head, "what the—a dinosaur?!"

The dinosaur slowly turned its head, looking down on Skysin. It raised one of its giant hind legs and slammed straight to the speedster.

BOOM!

Dust exploded into the air.

The dinosaur raised its leg, not seeing a thing, and returned to walking again. As if it literally squished a pest.

That was until the beast felt a pair of shoes on its head.

"Man, this shit sucks. I dunno where the hell I'm at…"

The dinosaur let out a gentle roar, as if letting Skysin know to hop off.

"My bad dude…or girl, whatever you are…" Skysin basically disappeared from existence, back on the run.

Lines of blue could be seen crossing around the entire world.

Once.

Twice.

Three times in under a second!!

As Skysin continued his search, he suddenly felt a very familiar signature of chaos.

"Wait a sec…" Skysin quickly came to a stop, his feet trailing through the ground as grass kicked into air. He looked to his right, coming to stare at a deserted city, and could clearly hear explosions, fighting. Skysin can feel Crim's chaos flaring.

Skysin grinned, "perfect…"

The boy took off, already in the city.

Present:

Skysin, clearly puzzled by this battle, looked around, "what the hell is going on??" Skysin looked to where Crim sat in the rubble of wall, "Crim, you good dude?"

"Yeah…" Crim picked himself up, leaning to the side, placing his hand on Capreece's stomach as the man didn't pay attention. White flames exploded, sending Capreece rolling and spinning through the ground, all the way back to the guild building. Crim sighed, raising his head slightly, slouching, "jeez, where the hell were you?!"

"Around the world, got lost." Skysin quickly answered, "I saw a DINOSAUR!"

"Huh?? I thought those things died off in the Celestial Titan generation. That was like eons ago!"

"Nuh uh, I literally saw one."

Yuer in the background was simply confused, "what is going on right now??"

Ai Mei took that as her chance. Slapping her wrist forward, a wave of chaotic force smacked Yuer, knocking her far back to enemy lines with a crash.

Ai Mei looked to Crim, "uh, is this the friend you were talking about, Crim?"

"Yep," Crim replied, walking over to help Ai Mei up, "the cockroach himself."

Skysin scoffed, and looked to Elaine, giving out his hand, "sorry 'bout the scare, I'm with Crim. Skysin, Skysin Rillem."

Elaine shook herself from shock, taking his hand and stood, "Elaine Millcroft. And… thank you."

Skysin smiled, sitting his hands behind his head, "eh, no problem."

Ai Mei quickly went to hug Elaine, pulling her close, "you need to be aware of your surroundings 'Laine…got it??"

"Yeah, sorry…"

Ai Mei looked to Skysin, sitting her hands on her hips, "so you must be Skysin, huh?"

"The one and only," Skysin slicked his hair back with a winsome, arrogant smile. "Speed perfected…" Skysin began to pose like some supervillain, "the badass who moves before light! The man who goes as the wind follows! The bodacio—"

Ai Mei flicked her hand up and down, scoffing, "yeah—yeah, we get it sweetie, you're super-fast. Thanks for saving my sister."

Skysin squinted his eyes, shoulder's slumped, "…yep…"

Elaine giggled as Crim made a stupid face at Skysin.

'Dumbass,' is all Crim's expression showed.

"Anyways," Skysin looked over to the guild as more men came rushing in, "seems like you guys are in a pinch."

"Correct you are, Mr. Speedy," Ai Mei quipped. "Long story short, those guys stole our products and we're getting them back."

Crim raised his hand, "oh and they stole the stuff I need for Lucy, which is why I'm here."

"Makes sense now."

Ai Mei continued, raising a brow to Skysin, "so, you up for a little fun?"

"Am I?" Skysin grinned, "If Crim's fightin', I'm throwing hands too!"

Ai Mei lifted a finger, "oh, and no killing. We can't cause too much trouble, cool?"

"Fine by me. So how do we handle them?"

Elaine spoke up, "uhm…we have to pretty much disable their entire guild. Or the enemies, I mean," Elaine explained, pointing to the men. "That includes the guild leader, wherever he is…"

'Simple enough," Skysin flicked his thumb under his nose. He looked to Crim, "ready?"

"Y'know it."

Skysin flashed a grin to Crim as his body was already beginning to phase in and out like some hologram, "try to keep up!"

Crim chuckled, and flames exploded under his feet.

The two were already heading towards the enemies at an insane number of speeds. Skysin and Crim, blurs of blue and white flames, crashing through the enemy line like speeding snakes, taking each one out under a second!

Elaine herself was baffled. Crim and Skysin were moving beautifully, a punch there, a kick, elbow, breaking down the army of men like nothing.

"So fast…" Elaine whispered aloud.

Ai Mei flicked Elaine's forehead.

"Ow…!"

"Focus 'Laine."

"Right—Right. Ready!"

Ai Mei and Elaine went off, joining the fray as Skysin and Crim pushed the enemies back.

Crim flashed forward, low to the road, making a man trip and fall. Skysin appeared above, crashing his feet onto the man's back, slamming him into the ground!

As more men pushed onward, Skysin's body flickered, and was already before them, grinning like maniac.

One managed to blurt out, "what the—"

Skysin socked his nose.

The boy flipped, kicking another on the head. With a spin, Skysin elbowed the other on his jaw, knocking all three out simultaneously!

Skysin and Crim were moving like hawks, knocking one man or woman out in less than a second.

Clearing the enemies out, Skysin rushed in front, Crim behind as Ai Mei and Elaine quickly followed. Skysin raised his hand to the giant double doors, and shot a ray of ice, blasting them to pieces.

They all quickly entered, getting into a dark lobby. Shadows encasing almost everything apart from light escaping the draped curtains from the windows on the side.

Coming to a stop, Skysin looked around, "alright, where the hell is the rest of 'em?"

Crim shrugged, "asking the wrong person."

Ai Mei scoped the dark area, "I think we took out most of the threats. But the guild leader still hasn't showed up…"

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Someone was applauding, slowly, almost mockingly.

The four looked up, staring at a man seated on a chair, leg crossed over the other. A small table right beside him, porcelain glass teacup placed atop it, still hot. "Amazing performance, I must say," the man's smooth, low voice sharply scoffed.

He stood, dressed in a black cheongsam uniform. Gold cuffs around his wrists. A pair of glasses with piercing green eyes. Two dangling earrings with glistening feathers. Slicked, platinum blonde hair. A scar ran long from the left of his jaw down below his neck. "Not only am I graced with the infamous Ai Mei's presence…but the rabbit of a guild leader as well."

The man stepped onto the railing of the upper floor, and walk off, falling straight to the floor, landing elegantly and calmly. He dusted off his uniform, two quick pats, "how lucky am I?"

"Uh…" Elaine stuttered, "could we please get our stuff back…? We didn't want to resort to violence, honestly…"

The man ran his fingers through that platinum hair, "…sorry, but I can't allow that. Isn't that right, Master Greyvus."

"Indeed, Morlis," a baritone, gravelly voice spoke up.

An older gentleman had exited from the shadows like a ghost, a room just behind the Morlis.

The aged man, Greyvus looked to at least be in his forties. A well-built physique, tall, standing at six-one. Short black hair grazing the top of his forehead. Streaks of grey running through them like paint being wiped on a canvas. His knife like, yellow eyes are slightly sunken, deep shadows under. Sword-like eyebrows arched. Wrinkles on his face deepened as he glared at them, his eyes particularly on Ai Mei. Dressed in the same uniform as the Morlis.

The girls were shocked.

"Lord Greyvus??!" Ai Mei shouted.

"What's the meaning of this??" Elaine asked, more confused than fearful at this point.

Skysin tilted his head slightly, pointing to Greyvus, "…who's the old coot?"

Ai Mei grounded her teeth, "he was the old lord of this city…who disappeared five years ago."

Elaine took a step forward, "what's going on here? Why cause this??"

There was a moment of silence, yet Greyvus was glaring daggers to Ai Mei, "I've been enlightened. And learned something about…someone. Or you, little lass."

Ai Mei growled, "what're you trying to say?"

"Oh I'll explain…" Green aura seeped from Greyvus' body, growing stronger by the second, "but this is no longer a simple, 'Guild War.'"—Greyvus pointed to Ai Mei— "Between you and I, this is LIFE OR DEATH!!!"

Elaine gritted her teeth, "you can't just do tha—"

Greyvus lunged right to Ai Mei without further warning.

Ai Mei raised her arms to block as Greyvus reached for a punch; the very power shook the building. Books, vestiges, tables, chairs shook and fell. Ai Mei was sent crashing through the entrance of the guild, Greyvus trailing after her in a split second.

"MEI MEI!!" Elaine screamed.

Just as the three were about to assist her, Yuer and Capreece stood behind, blocking them off. A force field of chaos set and placed around the entire building. This was planned out much more than it seemed. Now they were really stuck.

Capreece laughed, "you idiots ain't goin' nowhere."

"Apologies," Morlis chuckled, "but we can't allow you to get in between my masters plan."

Crim faced Morlis, "so why're you even helping the old guy? If it was just Elaine and Ai Mei here…this could've gone wrong, fast."

"As a disciple of my master, it is my duty to stand by him."

"Master?" Skysin mocked, "he didn't seem all too worried about us being here… Just left ya without a word to fight a teenager. Seems more like a pet in my eyes."

"Watch. Your tone. Boy," Morlis lowered his head slightly, aura pulsing around him. Morlis fixed his anger, coughing into his fist, and clapped his hands, "Yuer, Capreece. It's time to get rid of these…pests."

The two nodded.

Skysin, ever unserious as always whispered to Elaine, "yo…think you can handle that tall lady?"

"Don't have much a choice now, don't I?" Elaine gave a wry reply, "I'll try my best."

"I'll handle Morlis," Crim spoke up.

"Awe man…" Skysin sloughed, "I don't wanna fight biggums here…"

"Too slow."

"Too slow my ass."

The three all went back-to-back.

Each facing their opponent, posture ready for battle. Not another second wasted, they lunged to their adversary!
