The local man, upon realizing that the person in the ward was unwilling to open the door for him, hastily turned and left.

This was a requirement from the employer who sent him to deliver the flowers.

The employer who requested him to deliver the flowers had instructed that if the person in the ward was unwilling to open the door or let him in, he should not linger and must leave immediately. Moreover, he must not reveal who sent him to deliver the flowers.

This man had never seen who the employer was, and the employer also required that if the person in the ward refused to accept the bouquet, he should throw it in the garbage bin outside after leaving. That would suffice.

Therefore, when the person in the ward asked why he was there but then ignored him, he left.

After leaving the hospital, the man threw the bouquet in the garbage bin at the hospital entrance and then returned to his flower shop.
