Sam stood before the massive, glowing monolith. "This is what they want," he muttered once again.
At the moment, from the ventilation shafts, Frenzy dropped down. He transformed his finger-blades into rapid-fire blasters. He unleashed a barrage of pulses directly into the primary power couplings. The pulses travelled through the air and hit the power coupling. It exploded and destroyed it. There were sparks flying everywhere.
"What was that!?" Epps shouted as he nearly lost his footing as the floor buckled.
"We're under attack," Donnelly screamed. He raised his rifle. "Contact in the wire! Look alive," he added.
In the adjacent room, the hum of the cryogenic pumps died instantly. Thick clouds of nitrogen hissed into the air as the ice surrounding the silver giant began to shatter. A deep, metallic groan vibrated through the concrete walls. His red eyes flickered.
Sam thought this was all crazy but he thought his car was the best option. "We have to get to Bumblebee!" Sam yelled over the sirens. "He's the only one who can handle the Cube," he added.
"Kid, forget the car," Simmons shouted as he grabbed Sam's arm. "We need to secure the perimeter and evacuate the assets! Guards, stop him," he added.
Lennox thought this kid might know something. He thought it was foolish to put his trust in him but his gut was saying to do so. "No! Get your hands off him," Lennox intervened as he shoved Simmons back. He looked at the chaos erupting around them. "Simmons, look at the monitors," he said as he pointed to the air. "He is defrosting! We need a plan, and we need it now," he added.
Rachael's face went pale as she stared at the screen. "I saw the data and it mentioned him. Megatron, someone who wants to enslave," Rachael said. "If he gets out of those chains and gets the cube it's not going to be over," she added.
Sam looked at the pulsing Cube. He then thought back to them. "Optimus is good," Sam said, his voice finding a rare, iron-clad certainty. "He's a leader. He's a protector. And if he trusts Bumblebee, then so do I. We have to trust them, or we're all dead," he added.
Lennox looked at Sam. He made his choice. "Epps! Donnelly! Lay down suppressing fire on that silver bug, Everyone else, get that car out," he said. "Move," he shouted.
The soldiers aimed their guns and unleashed a wall of lead at Frenzy. It forced the Decepticon back.
"Release him! Now," Lennox commanded. The Technicians pulled a lever and the heavy restraints snapped open. The cables around Bumblebee fell away. The yellow robot got up.
"Bee, the cube is there," Sam shouted.
Bumblebee walked up and limped towards the chamber. He knelt before the Allspark. Bumblebee reached out and touched the surface of the monolith. The massive Cube began to fold in on itself, a thousand shifting plates sliding and shrinking with a harmonic hum, until it was no larger than a shoebox in his hands.
Bumblebee turned to Sam, his radio dial spinning through channels until he found a clear broadcast. "Optimus Prime... and the others... are approaching. We must... reach him... immediately," he said.
"You heard the bot," Lennox yelled as he slammed a fresh magazine into his rifle. "Lennox to all units! We are moving out! We've got the package and the escort. Clear a path to the surface," he added.
Epps, Donnelly, and the rest of the squad got into their vehicles in a tight diamond formation. Bumblebee transformed into a Caermo. Sam got into Bumblebee.
"Are you coming?" Sam asked.
"Yes, I am," Rachael replied as she got into Bumblebee.
"I am still here," Simmons shouted.
"Stay here," Epps replied.
"Roll out," Lennox shouted. The military convoy thundered out of the loading dock and into the main road. The black SUVs and heavy transport trucks were with yellow Camaro going through the road.
"Where are we going?" Epps shouted.
At that moment, four distinct silhouettes emerged from the shimmering heat haze of the road, moving at incredible speeds toward the convoy.
Leading the charge was the massive, blue-and-red Peterbilt 379. Its chrome grille caught the desert sun.
"It's Optimus," Sam cheered as he looked out the window.
The truck didn't slow down. It expertly swerved and positioned itself at the very front of the line Directly behind him, a Topkick C4500 pickup truck, painted a deep, aggressive black, roared into the lane.
On the flanks, a sleek, silver Pontiac Solstice and a bright neon-yellow H2 Hummer position themselves.
"Convoy in position," Optimus Prime said. "Sam Witwicky, you have done well. Maintain your speed. We will escort you to the city," he added.
The roar of the engines intensified as a new set of high-pitched, high-performance hums cut through the heavy rumble of the trucks. From the dusty shoulder of the highway, five sleek vehicles tore onto the asphalt.
Leading the pack was a vibrant pink magenta sportbike. James leaned low over the handlebars. He gripped the sleek chassis. He thought he was riding a transformer. He thought the multiverse was a cool place.
"We are also here, Optimus Prime," Elita-1's voice rang out.
The massive Peterbilt's engine gave a startled, harmonic chuff. "Elita," Optimus said, his voice dropping into a tone of pure disbelief and warmth. He actually slowed his massive tires for a split second. "You... you are in this world?" he asked. "I thought we lost you," he added. "I," he was about to say.
"Keep it moving, Optimus! We need to get the All-Spark to safety," Elita-1 replied, her engine screaming as she pulled alongside his massive chrome grille. "Reunions come after the victory," he added.
Following her lead, Moonracer, Firestar, Greenlight, and Lancer surged forward.
"You all are here," Optimus repeated. "I thought... I feared the worst for your unit," he added.
"It is a long story, Prime," Moonracer chirped. The low-profile sports car which had a teal and white color caught up to Ratchet. "Let's just say we found a very fast way to travel," she added.
James shifted his weight on Elita-1, looking back at the cloud of dust on the horizon. "Let's head to the city for now," James shouted over the roar.
"That sounds like a plan," Optimus said. "Keep moving," he added. The convoy surged with renewed energy.
Meanwhile, deep within the bowels of the Hoover Dam, the silence of the cryogenic chamber was shattered. Megatron's chassis was a mess of interlocking, razor-sharp gears and unearthly alloys. His red eyes glowed. His large fist broke the ice. The massive steel cables holding his arms snapped like wet string. He let out a primal, metallic roar. "Megatron lives," he shouted.
He walked forward. His body began to turn inside out in a violent, high-speed blur of shifting parts. His limbs retracted into a heavy, armored fuselage, and his massive fusion cannon became the nose of a terrifying craft. In a matter of seconds, he had transformed into a Cybertronian Heavy Jet. It was a sleek, jagged nightmare of silver wings and twin-engine thrusters. He ignited his thrusters and soared straight up through the dam's intake shafts, and flew out. He erupted into the desert sky and leveled out over the dam.
At that moment a sleek F-22 Raptor came flying down and landed next to him. He transformed as the wings folded and his fuselage opened and then he stood there. His chest was wide and armored, with exposed pistons and wiring. His head was narrow with red, glowing eyes and a sinister expression. His arms are large and heavily built, with clawed fingers. His legs were bent backward at the knee. His back featured jet wings folded into a V shape. "Master Megatron," Goddess Starscream said.
"Starscream," Megatron rumbled. He tilted his head and looked at him. "You look different,"
Goddess Starscream bowed his head slightly. "It has been a long time, Master," Starscream replied.
Megatron looked at him. "It has been," he replied. "Where is the Allspark?" he shouted.
"The humans and Auto-bots have taken it," Goddess Starscream replied.
"And you let them," Megatron shouted as he swung his foot.
Goddess Starscream got hit and fell on his back. "We are on our way to get it back," he replied.
"Then move it," Megatron shouted as he looked in the distance and transformed into his jet and flew into the air.
