[SAKURA]
Kiyomi had felt it the moment Liu started getting smug.
She had smelled the olive scent getting thicker, and she willed her to believe it was just Liu manipulating them.
Manipulating her.
Baiting her, given that it was easier to win a war against a distracted event.
But now staring at Elif's swollen lips and Liu's smug face, Kiyomi knew that there was never going to be a good enough explanation for this kind of betrayal. It was the kind that was cut in more than one way.
Gods, Kiyomi felt sick.
All her life in Odanera, she had trusted Elif with everything. Had done everything beside her, and when Sakura had apparently killed Elif, Kiyomi had mourned as if it were her own sister.
And Elif had been that.
A sister.
Perhaps more than a sister, she was Kiyomi's soulmate.
Someone who understood her. Someone she was sure could walk to battle and come back with. And then Elif got turned into a Lycan, and there was a kind of shift that Kiyomi had never understood.
