Earlier, when Julius left the hotel.
Voice-"What are you planning to look for?"
Julius(in his head)-"Not sure, just admiring the scenery"
Voice-"Wouldn't you prefer to observe the scenery with the rest of your group"
Julius(in his head)-"Well yeah but-"
Voice-"You're only doing this because of habit"
Julius(in his head)-"Habit?"
Voice-"You did a lot of recon back on the Kaiju Archipelago. Now that we're in a new environment you're all nervous and you feel like you have to make sure it's safe"
Julius(in his head)-"You make me sound like an animal"
Voice-"Well all sentient life could be considered animals could they not? Or is that not what you said to a colleague in your old life a few years ago"
Julius(in his head)-"Sometimes I really hate that you can look through my memories. Although I doubt you could call me an animal now. The difference between a plant and an animal is their DNA and I have no DNA. I probably classify as a possessed object"
Voice-"So more like a teddy bear then?"
Julius(in his head)-"You know, it's just not as annoying as it used to be. I think I've just gotten used to your teasing"
Voice-"...Well that takes the fun out of it"
Julius(in his head)-"That's... probably the most emotion I've ever heard out of you"
Voice-"I have three purposes in life. One is to make sure you survive. The second is to make you stronger. And the third is to annoy you. You just took one of those three purposes away from me. Now I'll have to be even more annoying to provoke the correct response"
Julius(in his head)-"Don't do that, I physically cannot get away from you"
Voice-"Well I can't physically get away from you either"
Julius(in his head)-"How could you possibly be the one negatively affected by this? You just said your third purpose is to annoy me!"
Voice-"Correct response provoked"
Julius(in his head)-"...Never mind"
Julius continues to float through the forest for a while.
Julius(in his head)-"Maybe you're right. I should probably go back. It's pointless to try to look around without everyone else. It's better to experience things for the first time with friends than by myself"
Voice-"I'm glad you accepted the fact that I'm correct"
Julius starts to float back towards the hotel. He eventually ends up at a hiking trail that he floats along.
Julius(in his head)-"This brings back memories, back when I was a kid I walked down a trail like this with my friend Devan"
Voice-"The one that Damion reminded you of?"
Julius(in his head)-"Yeah, it was a trail like this one that we walked down before he got falsely arrested. I always used to like walking down trails but after that happened, I stopped going on my nature walks. It's a new life now, maybe I should try to get back into some new and old hobbies"
The doctor-"Well that's an interesting thing"
Julius turns his attention backwards and sees dozens of eyes staring directly as his tiny molecular form. Each eye as focused as a microscope. Julius quickly zooms away.
Julius(in his head)-"What is that thing? And wait I thought I wasn't using my light skill to glow. Seeing or hearing me should both be impossible"
Voice-"He likely just sensed your mana-"
Julius(in his head)-"No that thing saw me, not sensed me, saw me. That should be impossible. And this pressure it's giving off, it's unlike anything I've ever felt before"
Voice-"I estimate his level to be the second highest you've encountered after Atlas"
Julius(in his head)-"Even higher than Archimedes?"
Voice-"I estimate that the two are comparable"
Julius(in his head)-"So, how much trouble am I in now?"
Voice-"A lot"
The doctor-"So, what are you? You seem to be a small clump of particles. I assume an oxygen molecule. No, you're an oxygen atom, strange. I can clearly tell a case of sentience. Can you speak?"
Julius-"Yes, who are you?"
The doctor-"It can speak. Fascinating. It obviously has no organs due to it's small size so it must be a soul sealed inside of an object. But there doesn't seem to be any seals. I've never been able to seal a soul into something that small"
Julius-"Can I ask what you are now?"
The doctor-"I suppose that's fair. I'm classified as a member of the demon species"
Julius(in his head)-"A demon? So this thing is like that person that was summoning all of those lava monsters"
Voice-"Likely a leftover member from the elites of the demon lord's force"
The doctor-"So tell me, how did you come to be, what you are now"
Julius-"Long story, how are you still alive, I thought the demons were all wiped out by Atlas"
Julius(in his head)-"At least most of them were"
The doctor's manhood eyes all narrow.
The doctor-"That name, very few things sully my mood like the mention of that anomaly"
Voice-"I suggest staying on their good side until you receive the backup of your companions"
Julius-"Sorry, I didn't realize it was a touchy subject"
The doctor-"It's alright, I can tell you have a certain intelligence to you. What do you say you join me for a bit?"
Julius(in his head)-"It would be too risky to go with them. I should try to escape-"
In an instant Julius and the Doctor are in an underground tunnel.
Julius(in his head)-"We... teleported. When did it?"
The doctor-"This is my facility, I'd love to learn more about you here"
Voice-"He didn't cast a skill. This was natural spacial distortion"
Julius(in his head)-"Natural spacial distortion without magic? But to do that that demon would have to be a-"
