Prince Magnus continues to cough up blood.
Prince Magnus-"Wha-"
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"I can't talk, my throat is burning. What did that creature do to me. I didn't even hear him cast a spell, and yet he was able to so easily bypass my aura"
The doctor's finger starts to slightly smoke and he moves his finger close to his many eyes to examine it.
The doctor-"It seems the small part of me that made contact with that aura around you was burned. Perhaps that aura of yours disintegrates whatever it touches. An interesting power"
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"The part of him that made contact with me? But he didn't move from his spot. But still, if his finger got hurt, then so can the rest of that ugly creature. And I have just what I need to hit him"
Prince Magnus(raspy voice)-"Evolved... skill... Divine... Vessel"
The room that Prince Magnus and the Doctor are inside of starts to get dimmer as Prince Magnus absorbs the light and magic from the area.
The doctor-"Absorbing the power in the surrounding area? I can even feel a tiny amount of my mana being siphoned away. I had a companion with a power similar to that a long time ago. And using an evolved skill for it too, how interesting"
Prince Magnus smirks with the blood seeping out from his teeth.
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"That's not all you bag of eyes. I didn't spend all that time on the Kaiju Archipelago just to end up only having one trump card"
Prince Magnus(raspy voice)-"Evolved... skill... divine... smite..."
Prince Magnus shoots out a powered up beam of light. The doctor raises his hand to block it. The beam hits the doctor's hand and burns part of it. Suddenly a slight shockwave of pain courses through the Doctor's body.
The doctor-"He hit my core? But I didn't have it in my hand. It isn't even in this same spacial plane"
Prince Magnus slowly regains his footing.
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"My new evolved skill called divine smite. It's a laser that's guaranteed to hit my opponent. It ignores any kind of defensive skill and hits my opponent's weak spot regardless of where the attack made contact."
The doctor-"You're an interesting specimen. I wasn't expecting a lower being like yourself to be able to affect my core. Perhaps you will make a good test subject"
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"Just a few more strikes of divine smite and even this ugly creature will perish"
Prince Magnus(raspy voice)-"Evolved..."
The doctor-"That's enough of that. That first evolved skill may absorb mana, however..."
Prince Magnus suddenly feels struck in the chest despite the doctor not moving a muscle.
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"It's like before; what is going on?"
Prince Magnus falls back on the ground due to the attack.
The doctor-"It doesn't matter how well fortified your defenses are, you cannot block something that you cannot comprehend"
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"Is it similar to my divine smite? No, more importantly throughout this whole fight I haven't sensed mana powerful enough for this. I could tell this creature was strong but not this strong"
Prince Magnus looks over and sees Abigail unconscious on the ground.
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"Still unconscious? I can't rely on her for assistance. I haven't been this overwhelmed since Atlas, I... have to"
Prince Magnus coughs up more blood as the doctor walks towards him.
The doctor-"I'll be taking you with me, you could be an excellent resource"
Prince Magnus(raspy voice)-"Don't... touch... me...!"
Prince Magnus's aura brightens and his body flies out of the roof of the house and launches over into the woods. He isn't able to control his flight angle and he starts barreling through the trees before having a rough landing. The doctor looks through the hole in the roof.
The doctor-"That was the logical thing for him to do, I just didn't think they'd be the logical type. Oh well, I'll just take this other one and send some of my subordinates after him."
Hours have passed of Prince Magnus running through the forest constantly tripping on the tree roots in the dark.
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"My head is ringing. I need to just fly from here back to the mainland. But with this headache I can't fly straight. So instead I'll have to get back to the island portal, but I have no idea where I am. This is unbefitting someone of my stature"
A dark rope stretches out from behind the trees and wraps around Magnus's arm.
Prince Magnus-"Get off"
Prince Magnus's arm glows brightly and forces the shadow magic rope to disperse.
Prince Magnus(in his head)-"I don't know who's using that skill but it's able to bypass my aura. Must be working for that monster"
A mile away there is a woman anglerfish beastfolk who is sending out the shadow magic ropes.
Anglerfish beastfolk-"Despite being so damaged from the doctor his arm isn't getting crushed. He's pretty durable"
A man deer beastfolk is next to her.
Deer beastfolk-"I went ahead and did some digging into his background as per the doctor's request. It's possible that he's the prince of a kingdom called Illumis"
Anglerfish beastfolk-"Hold on, you're having me hunt down a prince? You guys know I could get in trouble for that right?"
Deer beastfolk-"You're a bounty hunter aren't you? This is what you do"
Anglerfish beastfolk-"The only reason you have me out here is because he already killed one of your guys that was tracking him down. You needed some professional help. Still, I'm not nearly stupid enough to deny a request from the doctor. I'm more likely to die from him than from the prince anyways"
Deer beastfolk-"You make our glorious doctor sound like some kind of-"
Anglerfish beatsfolk-"Right forgot, your family's a bunch of cultist. No use talking to you about it. Shadow skill: shadow scouring nooses"
The anglerfish beastfolk shoots out more of the shadow ropes the fly through the forest winding through the trees tracking down Prince Magnus.
Deer beastfolk-"You should be honored that your skill was a perfect fit for this mission. You got to help the doctor. That's the greatest cause anyone can fight for"
Anglerfish beastfolk-"Not like we're the only ones hunting him down right now. But yeah sure, it's always been convienient fighting from a distance. I can- wait."
Deer beastfolk-"What?"
Anglerfish beastfolk-"My ropes stopped chasing him down."
Deer beastfolk-"So you killed him?"
Anglerfish beastfolk-"If I killed him I would have sounded more happy about it moron. He either teleported or went underground"
Meanwhile Prince Magnus used his aura to start digging through the ground. After going deep down he then shot back upwards out of the ground.
Prince Magnus-"Maybe I lost them, most of the ones chasing me seem to be deers. And I used to like deer. Not anymore, when I get back home I'm banning all deer"
Prince Magnus coughs up more blood.
Prince Magnus-"Not good, tunneling down and back up took the last bit of strength I had"
Just then prince Magnus hears rustling from the bushes in front of him. As he moves forward he sees two deer beastfolk with a strange stone box. One of them is knocked out while the other is standing and shouting.
Prince Magnus-"Another one, you shouldn't have been out in the open"
Prince Magnus-"Eradicating light skill: death beam!"
Prince Magnus shoots out a laser that pierces the deer beastfolk killing them.
Prince Magnus-"Got another one of you freaks. I told you you'd pay for messing with me"
