"Respected Mr. Han."
The designer, Nicolas, with his fluffy beard, heard Second Sister Jin's translation and chuckled as he took over the conversation.
"I don't know where you got your information from, but I'm sure that the Argyle Mine has not closed; it has just switched to underground mining—the surface gemstones have been mined out, and now we can only dig for remnants beneath the rock and soil.
"So in a sense, it is indeed not far from closing, but at least so far, it has not stopped production.
"Moreover, whether to shut down or restart the Argyle Mine has nothing to do with De Beers—it belongs to Rio Tinto."
Nicolas's attitude appeared very respectful towards Han Lie.
But anyone sensitive enough could detect a condescending tone in his manner of speaking.
That feeling was largely as if he were patronizing Han Lie—like saying to an outsider, "Shut up and listen to me!"
When Second Sister Jin had translated half of it, her heart turned cold.
