"You're just wasting valuable time like this," said Renald as he walked back to the observation room and looked at the various screens which showed the cadets. "I don't believe Nero will jeopardise a mission just because he has an ego."
Barry, an instructor who seemed to have targeted Nero, snorted.
"What do you know? He directly disobeyed my orders to sit still and get beaten up. Regardless of how unusual the orders are, they are still orders and a soldier needs to obey. Even officers are just soldiers in front of superiors."
Renald agreed that the orders themselves were quite problematic, but Barry was not being petty. Obeying orders was the core of the army, and lower level officers didn't always have the luxury of knowing why certain orders were passed. Even orders that seemed idiotic to the ones carrying them out had their own reasons.
Renald sighed and shook his head. On one of the screens in front of him, Nero and his team were familiarising themselves with their loadout.
