Dear readers,
I want to start this update by thanking every single one of you who has taken the time to read, comment on, and support this story over the last two years. When I first sat down to write this story, I was excited to create a slow-burn progression, leading up to the creation of a powerhouse in the future chapters.
However, as I have grown as a person and as a writer, I've had to take a long, honest critical look at the first 18 chapters of this fanfic. And to be completely transparent with you: I am not satisfied with them. In fact, looking back at those early chapters brings about some level of embarrassment. The gap between the story I envisioned and the words that sit on the page is too glaring.
Because of this, I have made a major decision regarding the future of this work. I will be completely rebooting the story from the ground up.
I want to be very clear about what this means with you. This will not be a simple remake where I go back to fix a few typos and tweak some phrasing. I am taking the story back to its start and building up on it again. The timeline and destination remains the same, but the path to it is going to be more thought out.
To achieve the level of quality I am aiming for, I can't simply build on top of a flawed work. If the base is compromised, it will only cause the entire thing to collapse eventually.
For those of you who have been here since the beginning, I understand this might be frustrating news. You have invested your time into the already-existing chapters, and I am essentially asking you to start the journey again. But I promise you, this is a necessary step.
I will be leaving the original chapters up for a short while as a legacy, but my full focus is now on the reboot. I've already caught up with the timeline in the past story, and I will be publishing these chapters on the site soon.
