As the manifestation of all the negativity of this world, Jashin has many authorities. [Slaughter], [Despair], [Corruption], and [Anger] are some of the many authorities he possesses. Although Jashin has many authorities, he couldn't utilize any of these authorities to their full potential. This isn't because of him being lazy or anything. It is simply because, thanks to Jashin, these authorities are a part of him.
To him, using these authorities is like moving an arm or leg. You can't actually ask a person to manually try to move their limbs without using the brain to do the work. It's like he knows the theory, but putting it into practice is nearly impossible.
But what Jashin can't do doesn't mean there aren't people who couldn't achieve that. After all, in this world, there are many people with various bizarre abilities. And Hagoromo just happened to be one of these people.
With his omniscience ability, he can gather enough knowledge to utilize the authority [ Corruption ] to its fullest ability. And the authority of [corruption] is an authority that is far trickier than any other authority.
This authority is simply perfect for brainwashing followers. Previously, Hagoromo had great confidence in his control over the souls he snatched all over these years, but after their previous fight, he might have noticed how vulnerable his forces would be if he went against Izanami.
As the lord of the pure land, all the souls here are branded and are under Izanami's control. But this control is not absolute; as the stronger one is, the more resistance they could muster.
But with Izanami's strength, if not being at the level of Hagoromo, no soul would be able to resist her control. So this might be why Hagoromo wanted to use the authority of [Corruption].
Once he used the authority of [Corruption] on his men, they would be forever loyal to him. Even if they were under Izanami's control, they would still not go against Hagoromo. In fact, they may even commit suicide by exploding their souls just to make sure they don't fall into Izanami's hands.
And if such a situation happened, Izanami would have to work overtime to patch up all the consequences that would come after many of these souls explode.
In fact, to Izanami, she personally doesn't care who decided to side with her old man. But if such high-quality souls were to explode, it would create a huge vacuum in the system, making Izanami have to find ways to fill the vacuum.
And for Izanami, who just wants to be a slated fish, making her work overtime is more painful than beating her. Even though this wouldn't hurt her, it would certainly disgust her.
This is why Izanami was so angry at Jashin for letting that old man borrow his authority. If he really wants to give away his authority, couldn't you at least ask for a higher price?
If the souls were devoured by Jashin, the system would not have much of an impact because Jashin, as the manifestation of the negativity of this world, has its own role.
His role is tolife? Devour all the souls in this world and purify the karma and ego of these souls. One could say his entire existence is to counter the Ōtsutsuki souls and their offspring. After all, who doesn't know the story of how Indra and Ashura's touching story was passed down for thousands of years because of their obsession in their first life?
And so, Izanami, in her anger, used 75% of her power to pummel Jashin to the ground and beat him until his face was no longer recognized. And this led to the pure land being 30% destroyed.
Fortunately, both Izanami and Jashin knew their priorities straight, so they didn't let any souls get caught up in their fight. Otherwise, Izanami may go berserk and destroy everything.
Don't doubt it; if Izanami is really forced into a corner, she may really do it. After all, if she really did destroy everything, she could do things way more easily than patching up the system.
Like they say, first comes destruction and then creation. Wait, that doesn't seem to be right… well, whatever.
All in all, Izanami beat Jashin for hours before leaving the pure land. She also didn't forget to throw many Hadō #88: Raikōhō spells at the location where she sensed Hagoromo. Although she couldn't be sure that all her attacks hit him, she is sure that at least 400 out of 699 attacks must have hit him.
As for why she was so sure, well, do the curses that Hagoromo spoke every 400 times explain anything?
Anyway, after Izanami finished her dealings with Jashin and left the pure land. Since a deal has been made, she can't do anything about the [corruption] authority in Hagoromo's hand. She could snatch it, but she felt that was beneath her. And besides, how could she be sure that he had not used that authority already?
And after beating Jashin and hitting her, old man Izanami's anger was mostly released. And since she was already going to get busy, she decided to retreat for now and think of a solution later.
…..
Coming back to Konoha, Izanami found that it was already getting dark. Thinking that the graduation exam might be over, Izanami decided to go back to her mansion. And just as she expected, when she walked through the main door, she found Naruto in the house.
"Oh, hey, little guy, did you enjoy the time travel experience? "Izanami asked as she ruffled his hair.
Naruto had a forced, stiff smile as he let Izanami do as she pleased. He really wants to complain about the treatment he received today. Did you know that the era he arrived in was at a time when Uzushiogakure was besieged by the rest of the ninja villages? And he saw everything with his own eyes.
He saw how hypocritical Konoha was and how they took over most of the Uzumaki clan's heritage and even how they killed the adults who came to them for help.
It took Naruto all his self-control not to lose his emotions after he exited the illusion. Although Naruto had never met any clan members other than his mother, he instinctively felt the bond with his clansmen.
And during this illusion, he really felt the love the Uzumaki clan had for their clan members. Even though the time lived in that illusion isn't much, that small time was enough to touch his heart.
Truth be told, after he exited the illusion, he asked his mother about the actual situation. He hoped everything he knew was just an illusion, but after his mother clarified everything, Naruto felt his world split apart.
This is why even when he successfully graduated from the ninja academy, he felt no joy. Instead, he felt very complex thinking about how he became a hypocritical Konoha who destroyed even their greatest ally just for profit.
Just as Naruto was once again about to succumb to his negativity, Izanami flicked his forehead, bringing him back to the present.
"Alright, that's enough of being an emo kid for now. "Come on, tell me what you want as a present for your successful graduation as a ninja, " Izanami asked as she looked at Naruto.
