Chapter 93 - Episode 93 — “The Battle That Won’t Fade”

12 Days Until the Tournament

The battlefield around Stratos Haven had become a storm of energy. Broken stone, scorched grass, and flashes of blinding light covered the once peaceful floating ground. Neither side had backed down. The warriors of the Light Kingdom stood tall despite the damage, their glowing armor reflecting the fading sunset. Across from them, Ren and his crew breathed heavily but held their ground. The Light Stone pulsed faintly behind them inside Stratos Haven's central tower, as if reacting to the battle outside.

Ren wiped the sweat from his forehead and stepped forward again. His shadows crawled across the ground like living creatures, restless and eager. The commander of the light forces, Kaela, watched him carefully, her calm expression hiding the intensity in her eyes.

"You still fight?" she asked, her voice steady. "Most would have surrendered by now."

Ren smirked slightly. "Yeah. But we're not most people."

Without another word, Kaela raised her hand and unleashed a burst of radiant energy that split into dozens of shining fragments. The attack scattered across the battlefield like falling stars—her new technique "Solar Shatter." Each fragment exploded on impact, sending blasts of light across the ground.

Raidon reacted instantly. Lightning surged across his body as he slammed his hands together, releasing "Storm Barrier." A wall of crackling thunder formed in front of the group, absorbing many of the exploding fragments. The air filled with the sharp scent of ozone as the barrier flickered under the pressure.

"Careful!" Raidon shouted. "These ones hit harder!"

From the side, Kaelen stepped forward, planting his hand against the ground. Green energy pulsed outward as roots burst through the earth in a wide circle. His new move, "Verdant Uprising," sent thick tree trunks and twisting roots erupting from the ground like a living forest. The sudden growth forced several light warriors backward, breaking their formation.

But the Light Kingdom soldiers adapted quickly.

One of their captains, a tall warrior with glowing silver eyes named Serion, leapt forward through the rising forest. His body glowed as he drew a blade of pure light from the air. With one sweeping motion he unleashed "Aurora Divide," a slash that stretched across the battlefield like a glowing horizon. The attack cut through several of Kaelen's massive roots in an instant.

The shockwave raced toward the crew.

Shigan stomped forward before anyone else could react. He raised both arms and brought them down with force, activating "Titan's Rampart." A massive wall of jagged stone burst from the ground, intercepting the incoming slash. The glowing attack split the stone wall in half, but the barrier slowed it enough that the remaining energy scattered harmlessly into the sky.

Shigan grinned. "You'll need a bigger blade than that."

Meanwhile Sakayanagi had already vanished from sight. Moving faster than most could track, she appeared behind two light soldiers and crossed her arms sharply. A burst of curved energy erupted outward in a spinning motion—her new technique "Lunar Cyclone." The swirling crescent winds knocked the two warriors off their feet and sent them sliding across the ground.

But the Light Kingdom wasn't losing momentum.

Archer Liora stepped onto a fallen pillar and pulled back her glowing bowstring. This time, the arrow she formed wasn't small or precise. It grew larger and brighter until it resembled a beam of sunlight itself.

"Let's see you block this," she said calmly.

She released "Heavenfall Arrow."

The massive beam shot forward, tearing through the battlefield like a comet. The ground split beneath it as it raced toward Stratos Haven's tower.

Ren's eyes widened. If that hit the tower, the Light Stone would be exposed.

He ran forward without hesitation.

Dark energy gathered around him as he spun his arm forward, forming a dense sphere of swirling shadows. With a sharp breath he unleashed "Abyss Pulse." The shadow sphere exploded outward in a powerful shockwave that collided directly with the incoming Heavenfall Arrow.

For a moment, darkness and light battled in the air.

The beam cracked.

Then shattered.

Fragments of glowing light scattered across the battlefield like broken glass, fading before they touched the ground.

The battlefield went quiet for a brief second.

Kaela stared at Ren with narrowed eyes, clearly realizing something. "You're growing stronger during the fight," she said.

Ren shrugged slightly, breathing hard. "That's kinda what happens when people keep trying to take our stuff."

Raidon laughed loudly from behind him. "You heard him!"

Lightning exploded around Raidon as he jumped high into the air, electricity spiraling around his body like a living dragon. With both hands raised he slammed the energy downward, unleashing "Tempest Breaker."

A massive thunder strike crashed into the battlefield, sending a circular wave of lightning racing across the ground. Several light warriors were forced to leap away to avoid the electrified shockwave.

But even then, Kaela didn't retreat.

Instead, the commander slowly lifted both hands. Light gathered around her body, brighter than anything before. The glow intensified until the battlefield itself seemed to dim in comparison.

Her voice was calm.

"You've proven yourselves," she said. "But this battle… is far from finished."

Behind her, the remaining Light Kingdom warriors gathered their strength, their armor glowing brighter as they prepared their next attack.

Ren glanced at his crew.

They were exhausted.

Bruised.

But every single one of them was still standing.

Ren cracked his knuckles and let shadows rise around him once more.

"Good," he said quietly.

"Because we're not done either."

The wind swept across the battlefield as both sides prepared for the next clash.

And somewhere above them, thunder rolled across the sky of the Thunder Kingdom.

The tournament was getting closer.

And the world was watching.
