Thinking about meeting Mark Reed soon, Valentine Teller's mood inexplicably tensed up.
It was a strange feeling, like attending an interview.
Her heart was both excited and fearful.
The gap in social status between him and her was once again clearly laid out before her eyes.
Valentine pulled out her phone and dialed him. Immediately after connecting, she heard music from inside the room. It seemed this was the office. Before he could answer, she quickly hung up, took a deep breath, and pushed the door open.
At a glance, she saw Mark Reed looking at his phone, muttering softly to himself, "Hanged up so quickly."
Valentine held back a smile and shouted in a high-pitched voice, "Mr. Reed, it's time to eat."
"Not interested."
Without lifting his head, he called back the number, and instantly, the ringtone sounded in the office. Only then did he look up and see Valentine standing at the door, smiling at him.
"Why are you here?"
