As Verdell came to terms with the loss of his beard- or at the very least part of it, the two of them soon enough set off together towards the north. Having them go over the primeval forest behind them that looked like it had never seen any visitors beyond the wildlife and monsters that called it home.
The direction came about thanks to Verdell, who took out some kind of special thing called a magical compass, a unique magical treasure generally kept by the wealthier adventurers, something Verdell himself had been as an A Rank Adventurer close to reaching the S Rank.
Verdell's status as a well-off adventurer aside, the abilities of the magical compass beyond telling them whether they were moving north or south was its unique ability to lock onto different unique magical nodes kept inside different important adventurer guild branches. Of which the Temple Guard City Guild Branch was one such branch and one Verdell had already bound his magical compass to.
