"When will the witches arrive?" Steve looked at Wanda. This matter obviously can't wait any longer. Hurry and get that so-called Group of Seven over here. They can't be given any more opportunities to reproduce.
"If you're in a hurry, I'll bring them over in the morning," Wanda said.
"Then I'll go contact the interstellar council first," Greed said. "Once they get the news, they'll want to rush over eagerly."
Upon learning about the situation in New Salem, Coulson clearly couldn't sit still. He went to contact Nick overnight. The Avengers also need to be prepared. These seven superpowered individuals are a force not to be underestimated. They're definitely going to take action.
Everyone returned to their rooms, each with their own thoughts. Greed prepared a guest room for Sarah as well. Sarah is a very gentle girl, with a slightly indistinct southern accent when she speaks. She thanked them and then returned to her room with the newborn baby.
Greed watched her back. In theory, this should be a very good ending. A girl who once suffered violent harm came back to life as a ghost and even bore her child again. It's almost too wonderful.
The only problem is, Sarah was only eighteen years old when she was alive, still a young girl. Her estimate on raising a child was not very accurate. Otherwise, she absolutely wouldn't have turned Blake back into a baby to cradle in her arms.
As soon as dawn broke, everyone had slept for less than two hours. The sharp wailing of a baby woke them up again.
Everyone hurried to the living room and saw Sarah helplessly holding the crying baby trying to soothe him. Actually, it wasn't really soothing, just holding him and saying, "Don't cry, Brie, don't cry..."
Stark quickly stepped forward and took the baby in his arms. Then Steve came up closely. The two opened Blake's swaddle and saw that Blake wasn't even wearing a diaper, having wet the swaddle. And he hadn't eaten anything in the three or four hours since they came back.
"Oh God," Stark said. "You hold him for a moment; I'll go get some diapers from the house."
Steve hurriedly took the child from him and turned to say to Bucky, "Bucky, go ask Shiller if he has any new blankets or something. This swaddle is dirty, it needs to be changed quickly. Otherwise, it'll easily cause a rash."
At this moment, Wanda also rushed down from upstairs, checked the baby in Steve's arms, and sighed, "This baby is starving. I'll take him to feed him. You guys go buy some baby supplies quickly."
Steve suddenly remembered that Wanda had just recently had a baby daughter, probably still in the nursing period. Even if not, the Scarlet Witch could probably use the power of Scarlet to feed, so it wasn't a big issue.
After Wanda took the child away, everyone scrambled to toss the dirty swaddle into the washing machine and started rummaging for a new one.
But it was clearly not that simple. The temperature in the house was okay for adults and slightly older children, but might not be enough for a small baby. Natasha wanted to stoke the fireplace but found there was no firewood.
"Go chop some from the forest out back," Greed said while rummaging through Gray mist's storage, "I don't have any baby supplies either. Everyone else go to the supermarket to shop. Remember to buy a crib."
Greed indeed stored many things. But after his friends had children, at least during the infant stage, they didn't bring them out much. When they did, they were mostly able to run and jump. Greed really didn't have stuff for such small children.
Sarah looked a bit at a loss. Thankfully, she wasn't really pregnant and giving birth, so her body wasn't weakened. She came over and asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"I'll teach you how to change a diaper later," Steve said. "Oh, and also about mixing formula, wiping the baby, changing clothes... I don't want to say this, but, miss, if there's a way to turn him back, I think you might seriously consider it. Babies are really hard to raise."
The dads there all empathized deeply. Even those without children clearly witnessed the power of babies through their friends and advised Sarah kindly. But unfortunately, just like all the children in the world, once they're born, they're born, no regrets possible.
"I'm afraid there's no way," Sarah said. "I'm sorry for troubling you. I'll figure out a way to find another place to live."
"That's not acceptable," Natasha said. "Babies are very fragile and he might die if you're not equipped with the right methods. Until you learn these skills, you should stay here."
After such a busy time, Greed wasn't sleepy anymore either. He made some food for the others and then pulled Strange aside: "How can we get this child registered on Earth?"
Strange raised an eyebrow. Greed said: "That old devil Mephisto will definitely come to fight for custody."
"This child has nothing to do with him," Strange said irritably. "The raw materials are the wickedness here, Sarah imbued him with a soul and birthed him again. On what grounds does Mephisto want to seize him?"
"Because Blake has now turned into a real human being. Mephisto dreams of having a human son. Otherwise, why would he turn Heart of Darkness into a human and let him back on Earth?"
Strange frowned. He said: "The previous Blake was no different from a human. So, what's the difference now with this baby? Why would you suddenly want to register him on Earth?"
"The previous Blake was already an adult. He grew up in Mephisto's Hell Dimension, what good education could he have received? Even if he looked no different than a human on the outside, the core was still a demon. Otherwise, could he cause trouble in New Salem with Nicholas?"
"But this baby is different," Greed said. "He has no memories and is a blank slate that can be educated. We definitely need to give him a new identity."
"How do you know he has no memory?"
"If he did, Arrogant would surely notice it," said Greed. "If his soul were abnormal, Scarlet Witch would find out. Why would Wanda still feed him then?"
Strange pondered briefly, then said, "Okay, I'll settle his identity. If Mephisto dares to snatch the child, I'll chop off his claws."
After Strange left, Greed breathed a sigh of relief. Actually, it's easy to handle identity in ordinary society, the key is to get the approval of the Supreme Magician. As long as Strange admits the child is human, he's under the protection of the Supreme Magician. No way Mephisto can snatch him back to Earth.
It's not important whether humans have such a child, but it's very important that Mephisto doesn't have such a child. Greed doesn't even need to think about what his intentions are.
With the interstellar council's capital moving to the Milky Way, Earth has gradually relaxed conditions for non-human life forms residing here, which is profitable. Mephisto needs a stronger reason to interfere with Earth, so he turned Heart of Darkness back into a human.
If his son is human and encounters something on Earth, it gives him a stronger reason to intervene. He acts like he's avoiding responsibility to lull the Supreme Magician.
It's a pity, though, that Sarah is no ordinary evil spirit. She seems to know she has a child and has stayed here waiting for her child. And when Blake returned, Sarah re-conceived him, turning him into a true human infant with no memory.
As long as this human infant can grow up on Earth, he and Mephisto won't have any connection. Mephisto's plans won't work.
That's why Greed tried to persuade Strange because he knows Strange is a bit picky about this. He basically follows the principle of a drop of blood, which means if there's a drop of blood not from Earth, he's not counted as human.
Fortunately, although Mephisto awakened the sins of the Crown of Christ region, these sins are entirely human sins, not related to devils or aliens. So Strange reluctantly acknowledged Blake's race.
Meanwhile, the team that went out shopping returned. They bought many baby supplies, including diapers, formula, baby powder, swaddles, and baby cradles.
The fireplace finally warmed up. The room became a bit hot, so everyone changed into lighter pajamas. The kids didn't like being cooped up indoors, and they went to play in the backyard dressed warmly.
Wanda finished feeding Blake. Steve was teaching Sarah how to change diapers, make formula, and feed. At this time, Wanda received a phone call and went out.
She returned shortly after with a lot of stuff. Greed saw that it was pool cleaning reagents.
Cleaning the pool is quite a hassle, but the kids really want to swim. Greed thought it better to clean it first.
"Oh, no," Wanda said, "Even if it's a heated pool, the temperature isn't suitable for swimming now, you might catch a cold..."
"No, no, no, ma'am," Natasha said, "Winter swimming is good for the body. A little cold can boost your immunity. I know these things."
"Please, mom, we're not ordinary people," the twins shouted. "Swimming in winter is so cool. I could brag about swimming in the snow at school."
"Yeah, I'd like to swim in the sea too..."
"Wait a minute!" Natasha quickly stopped them, "You can't swim in the sea!"
Hearing the kids want to swim in the sea, the adults who didn't really approve of pool swimming in this weather hurried to clean the pool. At least the pool won't have a Thunder Grasshopper swimming with you.
To clean the pool, you can't drain it first; you have to add some reagents to the current water, let it sit, then drain half the water, add other reagents, and finally completely drain it.
After the water is drained, you use special pool cleaning brushes to scrub the pool from top to bottom several times. This is the hardest step as the pool is not small, requires changing cleaning agents, and scrubbing several times.
The children have great enthusiasm for this. They love such labor. Wanda stood by the pool shouting at them, "Put on your boots and gloves; those reagents are corrosive..."
Greed wanted to remind her, but it was too late. Sarah, who had just finished changing Blake's diapers and swaddles, suddenly stiffened and fled like a frightened bird.
Wanda realized she had misspoken and gasped, wanting to chase after her but was stopped by Greed, "I'm a professional psychiatrist. Let me do it."
Greed had already seen that Sarah indeed needed psychological counseling. It's not as if changing life's form can completely erase previous psychological shadows. Having gone through such a disaster, she indeed needs proper healing.
After Sarah absorbed most of the supernatural energy, Hampton's blockade was finally lifted. The gray mist dispersed, and the snow stopped. The temperature dropped slightly the next day, but the weather was incredibly clear. Many Hampton people thought the curse that had ruled them for hundreds of years was finally lifted.
In a way, it wasn't entirely wrong. The supernatural power did ease quite a bit. But a bigger problem emerged. On East Hampton, a luxurious convoy slowly came in. On the West side forest, a group of people dressed somewhat plainly also walked out from the Crimson Teleportation Gate.
