Chapter 46 - Side Stories - Carillon - 2

(Wednesday, 21/10/1058)

(Carillon's PoV)

"Carillon~" Bell whined at me as we stepped foot into the dungeon. I knew why but elected to ignore it.

"Carillon~" He whined again while skillfully carving a goblin he just killed.

"Carillon~" He whined, again.

"Okay! Just say it!" I snapped, making him look at me with a stupefied expression then shake his head. "I know that you know that I need to make sure you come out alive. I cannot risk you fighting a strong monster alone"

"..." Bell was lost for words with his lips pursed. "I don't want to be treated like a helpless baby"

"Okay, I can promise to leave you to your adventures if you find a team of at least two others" I sighed. 'I need to make sure that the next expedition doesn't end with him dead. I might apologise and just not go on the expedition this time. My brother shall not be a minotaur's prey'

"Really?!" Bell suddenly appeared in front of me, excited like a kid who was promised his favourite toy.

'Since when was he so fast that a LV.4 couldn't see him move?'

"Promise?!" His eyes shone with his zeal for adventure. I should ass that he looked somewhat girlish as well.

'Maybe I should talk to him about becoming more masculine?' I thought before shaking the thought off. 'No, his core trait is his cuteness. Being masculine would take from that before he leaves his teens behind. I should leave him to his age'

"Let's go, Bell. I think you're ready for the 3rd floor after {Insert time here} of my instructions" I walked him through the 3rd floor. If going by skills alone, then he's an unparalleled monster. He soaked everything I told him so naturally that I'm somewhat jealous.

'A few more days to gain more stats before he's ready for the 4th. Sadly, his falna is holding him back with how painfully slowly his stats are increasing'

My brain blanked out for a brief moment.

'Why don't I remember how his progress picked up pace later? I clearly can tell his progress skyrocketed later. How, though? I might need to ask Henhen about it. He may be able to remember it much better than I do since his brain is still the same one from before'

I chalked it off to my memories not transferring completely.

I then subsequently facepalmed hard enough to bring bell great worry. I told him it was of no consequence while I thought about how stupid I was. Of course, I could always just tell them to close the staircase between the 17th and the 16th and be done with it.
