Chapter 813 - Chapter 813. Hunting Down The Special Monster.

When Aurek shouted for them to separate, Aionthra controlled the Special Monster and raised her staff. Even when her fighting looked overwhelming, the consumption of Aether Mana was equally monstrous.

So, just before they separated, Aionthra gathered almost 10% of her total and slammed the butt of her staff against the ground with a thud. When she did that, everything several hundred meters around Aionthra seemed to twist, and together with the brutal feeling of the world bending, Aionthra's voice reached.

"."

[You've been affected by . All your damage is reduced by 50%. Duration: 10 seconds.]

[Corrected.]

[Debuff timer increased to: ∞.]

Aurek's face and everyone else felt their eyes widen at the egregious debuff. It was the initial skill, 10 seconds of 50% less damage was strong, but not unthinkable. Only under Aionthra's did this debuff become a divine skill.

Aurek shouted, drawing his bow and shooting a barrage of arrows at the Special Monster. "Debuffs! Does it work!?"

"It needs more than one cast!"

The few debuffers in the group answered straight away while Aionthra shifted around and tried to dodge all of Aurek's attacks. Beside him, there were a lot of Aethermancy and melee threats. However, other than Kaelen and Aurek, who could heavily injure her, their damage was nothing but tickling in comparison.

A direct attack from either Aurek or Kael could shave around 5% to 10% of her total . So, dodging was not an option but a must.

Thankfully, the debuffs helped Aionthra calculate and make sure that she could dodge the attacks of the two main threats with the Special Monster.

'Still…' Aionthra glanced around, feeling the group's vitality and using her powerful information skill to look at their ternary essence reserves. 'No one is close to dying. I've yet to land too many debuffs that tickle down health.'

The reason was that she was controlling her . If she fired easily debuffable spells, skills like would make her efforts basically for naught.

When fighting, Aionthra used superior everlasting and uncleansable debuffs. Once they piled up enough, the only thing she needed to do was use her superior mobility to dodge and wait for them to die off.

Of course, she had methods for overwhelming aethermancy. However, this was her main fighting style.

As she quickly used part of her title skill to freeze the world for half a second and dodge an arrow right before her heart, Aionthra went on the offensive.

'Now that they are separated, I can finally focus my offensive on the healers. If I can even kill one healer, this Special Monster will be well used.'

So, with a single thought, Aionthra twisted the fabric of space and reappeared behind one of the healers. This skill, , not only helped her move instantly like teleporting, but it also cut off any locked-on attacks. What was worse was that taunting skills were also in this category.

When she reappeared behind one of the female healers, the strange urges to attack those frontliners had disappeared.

"Ahira, DODGE!"

The healer, having escape skills, was about to use them when Aionthra's voice boomed out of the Special Monster, as if commanding the world itself. "."

The world stopped, and only Ahira and the Special Monster remained in motion. "!"

Ahira completed her escape technique and appeared far away. However, after she did, a heart-sinking message reached her.

[You've been affected by .]

[You've been trapped in the dimensional step.]

[Time has stopped for 12.5 seconds for both.]

[Your stats have been reduced by 23% for the duration of the skill.]

Ahira's eyes widened. "W-What?"

"."

[The next skill that lands on you will be applied 6.4 times.]

The skill, which could be use to affect a single person or a single skill, worked differently. For example, if Echo Multiplier had been applied to the skill, the repetition would be much weaker. But when Aionthra focused this skill to amplify a single debuff, things changed.

Aionthra's voice and the second skill snapped her back to her senses, and the healer quickly activated her defensive skill. "!"

Yellow wings made out of light manifested around her like a cocoon. However, this skill was useless for Aionthra's next attack.

"."

A massive ripple spread out, affecting everyone around her. However, on Ahira, things were different.

Suddenly, she, who was already losing around 2,000 Phoer per second, was inflicted by an extra 7,400 Phoer loss debuff per second. In total, that was almost 0.1 worth of damage per second.

This was also a wide area of effect damage skill, so all frozen people were affected and began losing health even during the frozen time. This damage could have been caused only because debuffs affected by her Domain skill were unaffected by any time constraints.

So, if Aionthra bonked someone with her staff in the frozen time, nothing would happen. However, if she applied a burning debuff that was extended by her Domain, the person would start burning and lose actual vitality.

The healer's face turned pale. If she were protected, casting a few healing skills might have helped her prevent the ridiculous loss. However, even as an elite, the woman had only around 6 without Liu Shu's buffs.

"!"

[+5,540,000,000]! (+55,400)! (+0.5)!

Without hesitation, Ahira cast one of her strongest healing spells. But as she did so, Aionthra had taken her chance to once more cast . This skill could be freely used, but it made her skills consume much more Aether.

Still, now that her objective was killing the woman in front of her, Aionthra wouldn't mind consuming all her remaining pool.

The woman, noticing the ridiculous amount of Aether Mana around the Special Monster, clenched her teeth and layered another around her.

"."

After Aionthra spoke, the sky suddenly turned purple. Looking up, Ahira was witness to a scene worthy of an apocalyptic event.

Countless massive crystal rocks fell from the sky, each of them streaking down at blinding speed.

Ahira's body was thrown flying, her limbs and torso being mangled by the incredible force of the meteor impact. Even when much of the attack had been blocked by , her 6 Phoer Stars plummeted sharply, leaving her only with a little over 50,000

The time left for to end was still around 9 seconds. So, Aionthra didn't even move and saw all her debuffs suck away her life rapidly.

The woman was unconscious from the impacts, so it was no problem. Instead, Aionthra glanced at the rest and looked around. "...With my remaining , I probably can only kill one of the mages."

So, this time, she focused her on the next skill she was about to cast. Then, timing it perfectly with the end of , Aionthra chanted and burned through the rest of her

"."

Time moved again, and together with the sky crumpling down, several pillars of purple light struck down right on top of one of the more wounded male mages.

BOOM!!!

The layered pressure and essence crumpled his body like paper, his bones snapping and his organs failing.

Aurek felt his body burning, but without a single instant of hesitation, he pulled back his bow's string and released a terrifying attack. "!"

 BOOM!!

The arrow crossed the distance between him and the Special Monster in a fraction of a second. This time, Aionthra didn't bother dodging and smiled at him.

BANG!

The crystal and wooden Special Monster were blasted into pieces.

[Congratulations! You've defeated . You've gained 133,510 Experience Points.]

[Congratulations! You've gained .]

[You can now submit it and create a defensive structure back in the camp.]

However, even when the messages of success appeared, no one cheered. Instead, they all became incredibly busy trying to dispel all the debuffs that the Special Monster had applied to them.

They took potions and applied long-casting and more powerful skills, eventually cleansing everything without any extra casualties.

Meanwhile, Aurek stood in front of the woman who had become scorched beyond recognition. "...What happened?"

In his eyes, at one instant, they all separated, and the next second, Aionthra blinked and appeared behind Ahira. Then, after another moment that felt like a blink of an eye, Ahira and Aionthra appeared in another location, one completely burned and the other pointing her staff to the sky like some kind of empress bringing down judgment.

The next second, a blinding pillar of purple light killed another of their companions, and then, the Special Monster died.

Kaelen, standing nearby, glanced at the two corpses and sighed. "...Let's go back first. We've been roaming around, and soon, the first wave of monsters will attack the World Tree. We can ask the World Tree more after we deliver the ."

Aurek could only nod, picking everything salvageable from both corpses. It was common sense to erase the corpses of the fallen unless they could bring them back after the was completed with confidence.

After all, corpses were not entirely safe. So, most of the time, burning them to ashes was the standard procedure. This time, they also follow it.

By the time they left, only ashes remained where the two previous people had died.
