Chapter 276 - Chapter 4

Disclaimer - I don't own Marvel/Disney IP. I am just a humble keyboard warrior. Also, the Chaos Gacha was made by Bronz here. I am just dipping my toe in the water, so to speak.

Pocket Beach, NYC

–?--

Speaking of her, he turned around at the continued tapping on his shoulder, "Yes?"

"We need to talk," She said, her voice containing barely restrained anger, hatred, and overall desire to inflict violence on anyone around her. Unfortunately for her, she was incapable of doing that to him, as he had confirmed over the course of the short time he had been with her. As a familiar, she could not hurt him, such was the hard limitation installed by the Chaos Gacha system.

"Yes." He agreed. Partly driven by the fear of the vague understanding he had of her powers and her character, along with her past deeds, he had deliberately kept communication between them to the minimum. It was clear to him now that it would just not do.

She was the single greatest weapon he had in his arsenal, a result of a Gold Ticket, the rarity of which he had underestimated. It would seem that without interacting with any named characters in some way, it would be very hard to get a gold or higher level ticket.

And those were the ones he really needed at this stage, to quickly power up. It was good that he at least got this place as one of the rolls. Otherwise, it would have pushed him to desperately do something rash that he might regret later on, or not, depending on if he made it out of there alive or not.

"How much blood do you need? At what intervals? Any special requirements?"

She blinked at him, then her mouth stretched into a rather disturbing grin as she practically purred at the questions, "As much as you can provide. The fresher the prey, the better the–"

"Alright, that's enough!" He practically shouted, ignoring the way stuff happened to his body after hearing her voice, and ordered, "Listen, we are not going to prey on anyone. Any blood you might require will be sourced without causing pain. We will buy you blood if need be. Also, no feeding directly on humans."

Her face twisted into a hateful snarl, and yet, despite her being within swinging distance, he did not feel fear at all, a stark contrast from just a day ago. Then, he remembered something and added, "Unless I am about to die and you need an emergency transfusion to save me. Even then, I want you to leave the person alive. Also, no kids."

It was not preferable, but he would much rather live than die because she interpreted his orders in a specific way. Also, he would much rather die than use kids like that, so there was that.

"Anything specifically I should know about your blood needs?" He asked her one last time, to make sure that the next time they went out, they had time to do other stuff before they had to procure blood.

Alcina paused before replying, "If needed, I can consume blood to don another form, capable of untold amounts of destruction. I need blood to heal, to regain strength, and for sustenance. Normal food doesn't do anything for me."

"I see. Well, you can leave. I will call upon you when we need to head out again. Do not fight the Deathclaws." He replied calmly and then watched her leave before promptly turning around and taking deep, shaky breaths, trying to calm his beating heart.

Oh, dear god! Just hearing her say these things as if they were completely normal to her was disgusting but the fact that he would have to actually go out and procure the blood needed for someone like her to live was more disgusting. It was as if he was enabling a monster like her.

Shaking his head, he stood up, sleep having fled him, as he resolved to get strong, fast. It would continue to be a weight on his conscience to not just have to interact with someone like her but also to essentially harbor a cannibal and keep them around for protection.

For gaining the attention of a national law enforcement agency, Silver Ticket X1

He groaned out loud, his fear of being spotted confirmed as in less than an hour of the shooting incident and them fleeing the scene, some national agency was now looking for him.

Who could it be? FBI? CIA? NSA? Freaking EPA for disturbing the soil pattern in that place?

Shaking his head, he immediately rolled the ticket, hoping for something that would give him stealth, because even leaving this place after that ticket was worrisome.

[Doyens Virility Pills]

Common Item

Hunter x Hunter - A vial of 100 pills that give you endurance and fertility in bed, taking more than one at a time may have unintended effects. Restock Timer: 168 Hours

He just stood there, eyes blank as he stared at the bottle of pills he got from a Silver Ticket. A freaking viagra knock off? Maybe it was something more powerful since it was from an anime universe, but seriously? He got this for a Silver Ticket?

Shaking his head, he pocketed the vial, and paced on the ground in front of him, deciding on his next course of action. The basic stuff was clear. Food, Shelter, Clothing. He needed more clothes, places to store them, and he needed food.

As if knowing his thoughts, his stomach rumbled loudly, the small meat he had earlier in the day having already devoured by his stomach. He needed food, yes, but he also needed fishing equipment. If he could just fish here, half his hassle would be solved instantly.

Just a small grocery run with basic spices and skewers should be enough for him to tide him over the intense scrutiny that was undoubtedly going to fall on this place.

As for shelter, yes, he needed a home, even a crude one, should work. Too bad this entire island had no trees whatsoever, otherwise he would have had Alcina use her claws for something other than killing to make some usable structure and then buy some cheap tarp to create makeshift shelters.

It would have been basic, yes, but usable, and that's what he was going for right now. He was going for utility, comfort was a luxury he could not yet afford. That could come later on.

He had no idea how the atmosphere of this place was being maintained without trees, but just like every other thing that Gacha had thrown at him, he assumed magic.

Sleep having fled his system, he decided to go out and move away from this place. Whichever national law enforcement agency was responsible for tracking him down should be more than competent enough to just trace his steps to the abandoned construction site. Sure, without knowing about his pocket dimension and the mechanics of its entry, they would be confused, but they would not leave immediately.

Especially when superpowers were involved, governments would rarely do it half assed, if only to get corpses to study instead of living people, who could complain about pesky things like human rights and the Constitution. Never mind the fact that he was basically an illegal immigrant here and had very little in terms of rights, with the best being a hearing and a swift flight back home.

Home that was not his home right now. Yup, things outside that porta potty door were not looking good right now.

Being the squishy human that he was, he opted to reduce personal risk to himself to zero and instead put his familiars to risk. With that in his mind, he swiftly began walking in the other direction of the small island they were on.

The Deathclaws were easily visible to him, just lying down on the sand, unmoving. He froze for a moment, looking at their forms before running towards them in a spring, only slowing down when both of their faces moved towards him.

Sighing in relief at the confirmation that he had not killed those two by starving them, he turned direction and began walking to the standing form of Alcina. After explaining the threat to him and directions on how to handle it if she finds law enforcement and guns on the other side, he stood to the side, ready to open the portal.

The portal opened in front of the key, and he was paranoid enough not to entrust anyone else with that key, so the door opened in front of him as Alcina immediately leapt into the portal. He had immediately jumped to the side just in case bullets came flying but nothing of that sort happened. He peeked through it, only to find the same abandoned construction site.

Still, he waited for a bit as Alcina was going to make a round around the entire site before coming back to confirm the presence or absence of cops. After almost a minute, she came back, "It's clear. You can come out now."

So, with that assertion, he stopped out and immediately began looking for an easy target. After all, they needed cash, and a poor sod who got the cash through less than legal means, just like they were about to.

For gaining the attention of SHIELD/HYDRA, Gold Ticket X1

He froze, groaning out loud at that. Well, the cat was out of the bag now. He had to assume that the action of opening the portal to his beach was sensed by SHIELD, and they were on his ass now. With no time for stealth, he immediately began to haul ass, intent on getting enough essentials to last him for a longer period of time so that he could hide his ass from SHIELD, even though he knew that he had the Chaos Gacha system, not the Hide in a bunker system.

Alcina followed, obviously as he rolled the ticket.

[Internal Duplication]

Uncommon Ability

Allows you to duplicate your limbs and organs. Conjure multiple sets of arms, multiple sets of eyes, or another heart if you can fit another one in there. Adding more limbs and organs to your body will cause strain.

Another disappointing roll and a lot of running, speedwalking later, they were back into the city proper, away from the haunted feeling of Harlem at night, especially the wrecked areas of Harlem. With the express intent of this being a grocery run of sorts, they began looking for someone to steal from.

Unfortunately, within minutes of that, he became acutely aware of that the strategy being an utter failure because of the lack of viable targets. Oh, there were people outside, and most of them must have some cash on them but his conscience, his stupid morals, did not allow him to just rob anyone.

He had justified robbing criminals, drug dealers, in his mind to himself until now but hurting people financially who were just trying to work was not cool. Before he could think of anything else, whoever, he heard police sirens in the distance and a sudden jolt of anxiety had him running away from that place.

His palms suddenly felt clammy and cold as he clutched the key tightly in his hand, and ran away from the police, who were no doubt on their way to arrest him. Flashes of prison, experiments, and memories of what they did to mutants had him running all that faster.

"Hey! Stop! NYPD!" He heard someone shout, and he came to a halt as he saw a police car pulling in front of him. He turned back, and saw a police officer with his gun already drawn. He could feel Alcina tensing up beside him, ready to jump into the fray at the slightest hint of danger and right now, the guns were a pretty big danger to him. It was made worse by the fact that even if he somehow found himself in the custody of the so-called good guys, who would not immediately kill or dissect him, that was not good for him. It would still be a prison.

The less said about finding himself in the mad scientist wing of the government, the better.

His back was against the wall, metaphorically as he watched both police officers advancing towards him, with the gun thankfully back in the holster after seeing that he had no intention of running or no weapon in his hand, presumably. His gaze, in between looking at both of them, saw a manhole cover ahead.

His eyes met Alcina as he gestured to the manhole cover in front of them. He was glad that he removed some of the more restrictive orders like not doing anything unless he verbally says it, so that she understood and more importantly, could act on it when she saw the cover.

Trying to appear as relaxed as possible, he made sure that the ability he wanted was active in the ability slot and waited for the police to come closer.

Noting both the weapons holstered and no other police officer in their respective cars, he activated his Swamp ability, instantly trapping both of them. Before they could recover, he shouted, "Push them!" as Alcina just became a blur as she pushed both of the stumbling officers into the Swamp, completely submerging them.

He could feel them, their presence in the swamp, completely knocked out. Immediately taking them out of the swamp, he watched Alcina just rip out the manhole cover and jump in. A moment later, she jumped out and nodded at him as he sighed in relief, and after setting them down properly, jumped into the hole as well. He was glad that he had not yet received a body bulking ability, so he was able to easily jump into the narrow hole.

Alcina was Alcina, so she had no trouble fitting in as she was capable of changing her form's size.

As they ran through the sewers, trying to ignore the smell, the only question ran through his mind was…

Now what?

For assaulting your first law enforcement officer, Silver Ticket X1

Well, yeah, that as well. Immediately rolling, he got…

[Gama]

Uncommon Familiar

Jujutsu Kaisen - A large frog shikigami that can support its master using its long tongue. Its tongue can be used to ensnare its master's target and is strong enough to throw and slam them into objects. The speed of the Toad's tongue is useful for helping its master or an ally out of harm's way. Its large size allows it to carry targets in its mouth for transportation or restraint. The power of shikigami scales with your own energy levels.

Yet another familiar. Clamping down on the summoning into the real world, they continued running. Now was not the time to let the frog out, even though it looked like it had some really sick abilities like transportation. Maybe it could carry him out of the city in its mouth.

Wait! If it was a frog, could it swim as well? Carry him through the river with ease?

If that was true, his job of fleeing became much easier. Just jump into the river using Gama and then emerge on the other side of the island, or go up the river and go inland. The US was so large that finding him without tracking his energy signature was basically impossible, even for the larger agencies like SHIELD.

Things were maybe looking good for him. The problem was the city. It was too dense, too many people, too many cameras, too many cops, actually. Going into the rural areas should be the right choice.

Now, all he had to do was flee from the police, find some open waters, test if Gama can take him into his mouth, stow Alcina away into the pocket dimension, and then swim away from the city.

Just as they turned a corner, he saw something in his peripheral vision that made him skid to a halt. Immediately running back, he smiled and sagged in relief as he saw a door. A metal, rusted door that did not look operational at all.

But it was a door! Wasting no time, he just jabbed his key into the door, and jumped into the portal, into the safe space. He stopped himself from just melting into the sand below, after having escaped law enforcement for the first time in his life. If he was feeling like this after safely knocking them out, how do seasoned criminals even sleep after killing cops, despite not having a safe pocket dimension like his?

Immediately, he turned around, "Alcina, I have a new familiar that might be able to help us. Stay back until I call for you." She looked confused for a bit before jumping back a couple of dozen feet away.

It was great that he was able to find a door. Now, he could test if his new familiar could travel through the ocean, and what the logistics of travelling in a frog's mouth will be. As long as it was safe, he was willing to tolerate a lot, even if it was smelly or disgusting. His inner hygiene freak could be drowned temporarily if it was the question of survival.

Mentally willing for Gama to appear, he noted the very low strain on his mind at Gama's continued storage in the familiar space, not even a fraction of what Alcina gave him, which made sense since she was an Elite tier Familiar.

A bright white light bloomed in front of him, leaving behind a human sized green toad with large white eyes staring at him. The mouth opened partially, showing him the tongue, which could be used to smash into people or trap them. That was all fine and dandy, but he was not interested in that right now. He had Alcina for smashing people.

"Open your mouth and store me in it. After that, can you swim for a bit, only in the shallow parts of the ocean?" He gestured at the ocean in front of him, as Gama turned back to look at the ocean before turning back to him with his mouth wide open and his tongue plastered to the sides of his mouth.

He cringed at that before steeling himself and jumping in. Turning to Alcina, he said, "I will be back soon. If I am not back in two minutes, jump in and bring us both back."

With that last bit of insurance done, he awkwardly got into Gama's mouth, which was somehow stretched wide open to easily fit him and leave some space, facing Alcina.

"Let's go," He said as Gama turned around and jumped straight into the ocean.
