Chapter 121 - The Flag

As Yuma strolled through the lively fairground, the excitement of the upcoming festival buzzed in the air. Colorful decorations adorned every stall, and laughter mingled with the sweet scent of baked goods. Beside him, Kinsha and Ika walked closely, their eyes wide with wonder.

"Look at all the food stalls!" Kinsha exclaimed, her enthusiasm infectious.

"I can't wait to try everything!" Yuma calmly smiles.

"I think I saw some meat skewers over there," Yuma pointed.

"And Ika, you could use some of those to bulk up a bit, right?" Yuma chuckles jokingly.

"Hey! I'm perfectly fine as I am!" Ika protested, a playful pout forming on his lips. But he couldn't suppress a grin at the thought of tasty skewers.

As they wandered deeper into the fairground, the trio found themselves in a quieter section, where a few elderly vendors sold their homemade goods. An old man in a hood, his face partially obscured, caught Yuma's attention. He was standing beside a small cart, offering a variety of steaming dishes.

"Food for heroes!" the old man called out, a twinkle in his eye.

"Come, taste the flavors of victory!" Yuma stepped forward, intrigued.

"What do you have?"

"Ah, young man! I have rice balls, dumplings, and the finest meat skewers you'll ever taste. A special recipe passed down through generations!" Yuma looks between Ika and Kinsha who's mouths were drooling.

"Three skewers, please," Yuma said, handing over some Enni coins. He turned to Kinsha and Ika, grinning.

"Consider this a treat from me"

"Thanks, Yuma!" Kinsha said, her eyes lighting up with delight. Ika nodded appreciatively, accepting a skewer from Yuma's hand. As they savored the delicious food, the atmosphere of joy around them shifted. Yuma glanced at Kinsha, her expression changing as she looked at the crowd.

"You feel that?" she asked, her brow furrowed.

"Something feels off." Ika nods.

"Yeah," Ika agreed, his senses heightened.

"I've been hearing whispers about the World Government tightening their grip. Tensions are rising again." Yuma nodded, his mind racing back to their recent battles.

"And the bounties… they're only going to increase. They see us as threats now. We need to be prepared for whatever comes next." Just as Yuma was about to elaborate, a sudden commotion erupted nearby. A group of masked robbers burst out of a jewelry store, bags of stolen gems in hand, shoving bystanders out of their way.

"Get out of our way!" one of them shouted, brandishing a weapon. Yuma's instincts kicked in. His eyes glowing ominously, but before he could run forward, Kinsha had already caught up to them. With a fierce determination, she sprinted forward, her training kicking in.

"Stay back!" she yelled, lunging at the nearest robber.

"Kinsha, wait!" Yuma called out, but there was no stopping her. She was quick, dodging to the side and using her speed to close the distance. With a swift kick, she knocked the weapon from the robber's hand, sending it clattering to the ground. The other robbers turned to confront her, but Kinsha was already in motion, executing a perfect series of strikes that left them disoriented. She ducked under a swing and retaliated with a powerful uppercut, sending one of the robbers sprawling.

"Kinsha-" Yuma watched. Kinsha had come so far since they first met. She was strong, skilled, and unyielding. He felt a rush of admiration as she expertly took down the last robber, her movements fluid and confident. The crowd erupted into cheers, and the remaining robbers fled in panic, leaving their loot behind. Kinsha stood tall, breathing heavily but victorious.

"Did you see that?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with adrenaline.

"I actually took them down!" Yuma rushed to her side, a grin on his face.

"That was impressive… I knew you could handle yourself, but that was incredible." Kinsha beamed, her face flushed with excitement.

"Thanks, Master Yuma! I just... I felt like I had to do something." Yuma blankly stares.

"S-Sorry… Yuma" Ika joined them, shaking his head in disbelief.

"You really scared them off! It's nice to see you kick some butt out here." As the crowd dispersed, a flagmaker approached Yuma, his hands stained with ink.

"Excuse me, Captain! Now that you've defeated Ikati and proven yourselves, I was wondering what your alliance's flag looks like?" Yuma paused, pondering the question.

"I haven't really thought about it," he admitted. "

But it should represent our strength, rebellion, and power... Something that shows we're a force to be reckoned with, no matter the odds." The flagmaker nodded, his eyes lighting up with inspiration.

"What if it features a phoenix rising from flames? It symbolizes rebirth and hope after destruction, and the colors could reflect the sea and sky, blending into a striking design!"

"That's not bad… but… I think I have a better Idea" Yuma replied, nodding. Kinsha jumped in, excited.

"Maybe we can add stars to symbolize our goals and dreams! Each star could represent a victory we've achieved or a friend we've lost along the way." Yuma looks down.

"No… That wouldn't fit with our long term goal…" Kinsha looks down.

"My idea is…"
