Chapter 117 - Chapter(110)

Episode(110) Battle! I'll Only battle!

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(110)

[A-A ghost?!]

The fair queen muttered and turned to look in the direction her gaze meeting the figure of a ghostly reaper type specter.

She was horrified, seeing the dense amounts of demonic energy it exuded and its powerful aura she could tell that she was not its match.

But, it seemed familiar. Why was that?

Ah!

A thought came to mind and she spoke quickly.

[Tha-that's it! That's the monster the hero faced before his death!]

Her face now resembled someone who dreamt of falling to their death, completely pale and covered in fine beads of sweat.

Her trembling could be felt in my grasp and I could somewhat guess the full story.

But, was it really that terrifying?

With that question in mind, Nagisa gazed at the opponent appraising it slightly.

It was a grim reaper looking ghost type monster. Although it had legs, the upper part of its body was covered in a tattered black coat and only two red eyes beamed from underneath.

I doubted whether it really had a face or body underneath that cloak.

Its entire being must just be the feet, cloak and eyes.

At the same time, its body was transparent frequently phasing in and out as if just one touch would cause its figure to shatter into countless particles and dissipate through the air.

This made it seem as if it should have already passed on, however Nagisa could feel the energy that was still strong and knew it wasn't so fragile.

So this was the monster?

However, it didn't seem so powerful that it could defeat a level 97 hero.

Was the hero's stats that weak?

Or, maybe my own view of stats became skewed due to my own abnormal attributes.

No, even if it was weak a hero was naturally more powerful when it came to fighting against monsters and demons.

The fact that even the level 97 hero couldn't win only meant one of two things.

That guy was just that pathetic.

However Nagisa denied this, didn't the evil spirit recite the wind hero's entire life story?

Then, the probability of the tree having interfered with the hero and weakened him grew significantly.

Perhaps, it wasn't even the tree.

Maybe the ghost had some sort of ability to mark opponents and weaken them the moment they touched the mark.

Seeing as the tree was so valuable, the ghost must have thought that people who entered would be blinded by greed and head over to mess with the tree.

Indeed, even without a skill to tell the tree's information, the magical power it exuded was enough to tell even an idiot that this was a treasure.

The hero, coveting the tree in his greed naturally had no way to resist.

Was it a curse or a hex?

I really couldn't tell but either one of those seemed scary seeing as it could reduce a hero to the point that even he couldn't even face an opponent he should have been buffed against.

But, the hero had the wind spirit so why did he lose?

Even if the wind spirit couldn't beat the ghost, at least together they should have been capable of defeating it.

A spirit and a ghost were similar beings so technically her attacks should have been effective right?

But, after thinking Nagisa shook his head.

The curse must have been that much powerful that even working together would be meaningless.

But, I'm curious.

Even if I can instantly detect and dissolve magical energy, I've never been cursed so a curse should definitely have taken effect on me.

Wait, not right.

[Didn't I just obtain a powerful skill]

Indeed, although there was no improvement in the amount of negative energy I currently had this was likely because my core was full and could not hold anymore.

Still, Black light core must have taken effect and dissolved the curse which was a type of negative substance.

Thinking this way I patted my chest.

[Almost got cursed!]

The thought made me even more vigilant and wary. Whoever made this dungeon was a real demon.

Not only mixing various poisons but even introducing a hex type monster.

Fortunately I faced the poisonous energy before and got the idea to create the Black light core or I would have been in deep trouble.

If before I felt like I was stacking up a bunch of useless pokemon, now I felt like I didn't have enough!

Looks like I need to take advantage of many things in this dungeon and use exploitation to obtain a few more traits.

Regardless of whether they had a use or not Nagisa was determined to obtain them all.

My gaze hovered on the ghost.

[The curse didn't take effect-]

Still, the monster seemed to have other abilities as even now I felt danger.

It was likely, even without the curse the hero would have died.

But-

[Grim reaper or floating bedsheets]

Whatever it was, I just need to kill it right?

[Since you're already dead, I'll just perform your last rites and send you off completely!]

Nagisa could not sense the level of the monster, but he could tell from its aura that he could handle it easily.

It was just that faint sense of unease that he could feel.

It definitely has a low level, but its skills must be something else entirely.

The spirit was dumbfounded.

[Hu-Human! What are you saying!?]

Was this guy an idiot?

[How can you beat the monster even a hero could not defeat?]

The monster even gave of a more threatening aura than it did before so how could this guy be so arrogant?

Beside me, the screaming noises intensified and I desperately wanted to unplug the loudmouth.

Should I just knock her out?

No, after thinking this was too ruthless and she was so tiny I might mistake my strength and slap her out of existence.

[Is that so?]

Let's just act like we're listening.

[Yes! THAT IS SO! So stop being a Braveheart and just run!]

I mean, you're being so dramatic but it's not that serious.

Seriously, what was all the fuss about?

Sure, the hero lost pathetically to this floating pile of cloth but, even with the occasional sense of threat I felt it was not that high.

If I had to compare it to a boss monster, at most it would be the level of the wolf king I first faced.

And, well have you seen my current strength compared to then?

Is there even a need to say more?

Still, it would not be incorrect to be cautious.

There was that sense of danger that kept flickering and with the spirit woman's nagging at the side, this thing must have some ability.

But, I was still confident.

The spirit queen was impatient.

[What are you doing? I told you we need to leave now!]

Did this human have some issues with his brain? Why wasn't he running when she had already explained the danger of the situation?

But-

[Haha, run away?]

Such nonsense. Ever since he came into this dungeon there was only ever forward, never backward.

[Fighting is the only option isn't it?!]

No its not!

Looking at frail looking boy pointing a sword at the monster, the spirit queen wanted to complain.

But, who could she complain to? No really, where could she let go of this grievance?

[Uhm, it might be miscommunication but-]

Nagisa spoke before she could ask nonsense.

[Battle! I said I'll fight!]

Ah, it was over. She, a spirit queen would live and die such a pitiful death. Why were all the humans around her so stupid?

[Now, can you stop that high pitched nagging of yours? I wanna enjoy this to the end]

Nagisa felt like in the first time in his life it was difficult to ignore someone's rambling.

Didn't this thing come with an off switch?

[In-Insolent!]

Th-This guy!

Fine, just wait. Since she was going to die anyway then let her just watch the show and enjoy this humans pitiful cries of regret when he gets slashed into the underworld.

Hmph!
