The news of Alpha Mikhail being wounded didn't hit Valentin in the same exciting way as he had expected.
For the past six hundred years, he had made it his mission to eliminate Mikhail, and yet now that Mikhail was dying in Helia, he couldn't help but feel a different kind of resentment for that reality.
He knew his brother would never forgive me for this, but Valentin had never wanted Agustin's forgiveness.
To him, he was always right.
And if Mikhail's leaving was the cost of saving Agustin from himself, then Valentin would do it without question. It was just a boring sentiment he was having at the moment anyway.
"How true is the news?" Valentin had asked right as Haruki walked through his front door, reeking of the alpha's blood, reeking of the oath that the alpha needed.
