Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: First day rewards

CHAPTER 4

Arthur was in a tub filled with hot water; he was leaning against the rest while looking at the ugly red mark across his waist and a few nicks that he received during the battles in the forest.

"I should take this time to check out a few things," said Arthur to himself remembering that he needed to catch up on a few things that he missed due to his rush to get food.

he opened the panel, and first selected his status panel, and saw that he gained over 2,354 exp meaning he could level up.

He moved on to check the current status of his castle which was something he missed along with the 3 structures he had.

[Castle]

A special structure that possesses the heart of the lord, provided + 10% recovery rate to the lord when inside, and +15% to all stats when defending the castle for both the lord and units.

[Wall]

A weak wooden wall provides very little defence, a +5% recovery rate to all units, and a +10% production rate when within the walls.

[Warehouse]

A structure that can stock supplies, decreases the decay rate of food by 5%

...

Arthur nodded after understanding what was going on, then he moved on to check out the market.

He found that the were two types of markets, the system market where a lord can use gold to gain supplies, items, and structure. However, these were rather expensive, a simple wooden wall blueprint costing 500 gold.

The other market was the lord market, here the lords could trade with each other to gain supplies and money. "They are already lords selling food?" this surprised Arthur as he noticed that a few castle lords already put different types of meats and fruits on the shelves of the market, and they were actually flying off the shelves.

"I guess other lords must have been teleported to less habitable habitats, so this is their best way of stocking food for themselves and their units." Arthur hummed in thought, before smiling and thinking of getting into the market as well after all he did already have a lot of fish and other eatable items.

.oOo.

Once done bathing Arthur went to his bedroom and to his surprise he was provided with extra clothes. He wore the simple JP's the castle offered and stepped out to the castle yard to see what he gained from the hunts.

[+ 250 treant wood ] [+ 200 10lt Treant Sap][+1,000 Treant Leaves] [ + 10 Lamia wood] [+ 2 10lt Lamia sap] [ +1,570 fish ] [+ 30 300kg sea Lamia meat] [+ 10 500Kg Naga meat] [+ 1,000 Naga scales] [ + 20 Naga horns] [+10 Naga poison gland]

This was just the battle loot, not counting the various fruits and mushrooms foraged. Arthur wanted to shout at the top of his lungs but he kept calm and spoke, "OK please take enough to feed everyone, store around 50% of what remains and I'll sell the rest. Except for the Wood, leaves, scales, horns and poison glands." he instructed the labourers, who did as asked.

At the end of it all, the Dragons all ate, less than 15% of the food gathered, turns out Naga meat has a high satiety and minor boost effects. So, he decided to change things, deciding to sell less of the Naga meat and more of the others.

"Let's increase my warehouse level, this is going to be a good resource for me in the future," muttered Arthur as he moved to the market and searched for a normal building upgrade token.

[Normal building up-grade token - 1,500 gold ]

'Damn that's expensive.' thought Arthur before purchasing the items and moving on to upgrade the warehouse.

[Upgrading level 0 structure to Level 1.]

[Dragon warehouse]

- A structure that can stock a lot of items and supplies, decreases the decay rate of meat by 15%

This upgrade proved beneficial for Arthur who moved to the market and started placing food on the shelves and listing their prices.

[Market price list]

- 10 normal fish for 15 gold, (100 units available)

- 10Lt of treant sap for 100 gold (100 units available) (Has a recovery effect of 10%)

- 10 kg of Sea Lamia meat for 100 gold (50 units available) (Minor water magic boost effect)

- 1 kg Naga meat for 50 gold (10 units available) (Minor strength buff effect, and minor poison resistance buff)

He made sure that he didn't give away much, as this was going to be his gold line for some time until some lords could get enough strength to kill Lamia or Nagas for themselves. Especially the underwater lords as they have the advantage of abundant monsters under the ocean.

The total value of everything once they all were sold would be about 17,000 gold. While the Naga meat would be earning less around 500 gold, in the long term it would make for a great amount.

Once the food was posted on the market, a boom took place in the chat.

.OoO.

"Holy shit who's selling this much food?"

"HOT DAMN THAT'S A LOT."

"I don't know but this guy sure is powerful, he killed a naga on the first day!"

"Must be an underwater lord if he's selling mostly seafood,"

"I mean this guy has treant sap, can that be found under the ocean?"

"This is unfair, the guy not only is he in the most monster-infested region, but he also has a powerful unit! That's just unfair."

"I think he's near the coast, treants are abandoned in those regions so it's not surprising of he's attacked by some when surfacing."

...

"I can't tell if this food is expensive or not? I mean I checked the System market and the cost was nearly double of what brothers is selling for, but I wonder if it can be considered cheap if we take into account the effort put in and more?"

"Who cares, my units are starving this is a god sent."

"I know right? The desert isn't the best place to be!"

"At least you're on the surface, I'm cooking here in hell, gimme some of that food!"

.OoO. 5 Minutes later .OoO.

"Holy shit the food is all gone!"

"You animals! I just finished with something I checked the market for food and the moment I'm about to by I get a sold-out notice! You all are animals!"

"Our units are black-holes don't blame us!"

"Yeah ask the Mr Seller sell you some, he's got to have a little bit of extra right?"

.OoO.

Arthur looked at the gold entering his inventory, he wanted to grin but he was cut off by the units he took out to battle. All of them including Morgan spoke.

"Lord please allow us to advance." requested Morgan and Arthur decided to check and he found out that the 2 elves, the dwarf, human dragon-sworn solders all reached their experience cap of 100, although they gained more than 100 exp.

Galion also reached his own 1,000 experience cap along with Morgan. Arthur, surprised by this Arthur checked his player panel.

Once he saw this he started with himself. Allowing himself to level up.

[Leveling up]

-Congratulations Arthur Pendragon you've leveled up to level 2. All base stats have increased by 10 points,

- Your Dragon factor has strengthened slightly

- You've gained 1,000 gold

[ End]

Once this was done he gained a better understanding of the situation and decided to let them all level up.

The Dragon-sworn soldiers also gained 10-point increases in their base stats along with Galion the Dragon-borne soldier, however, Morgan gained a 100-point increase in her stats which was incredible.

After that Arthur checked to see his gold count finding it numbering at 26,500 after the round of sales.

Then Arthur checked to see if he could summon more units. "I can summon 2 dragon-borne units and have 6,500 gold left over to summon 6 dragon-kin and 5 dragon-sworn.

With a level 1 nest, I have a total summon of 20 units, which isn't much. With this method, I'll have only 7 slots left. I don't know when I can Level up my nest again so I should go with Quality over quantity, however, Quality does need refinement time so I could do this and gain more cash for the next 7 summoning in the next few days and boost their strength for the upcoming frenzy in a month." muttered Arthur as he began to strategize.

"Yeah let's do that," he muttered.
