Damien felt like the carriage was closing in on him. He stared at his wife and she glared back. None of them blinked and none of them tried to break eye contact.
After a while, Damien broke it. "No." He said, his voice dripping with authority.
At first, Audrey wanted to nod and just get out of the carriage, but something within her told her this wasn't what she wanted.
She folded her arm under her chest and shook her head. "Yes. If you're going to Mashup village, I am also going."
Damien pulled the carriage bind a bit, to see the women and soldier still loading supplies - food, water, weapons - into the carriage. He closed it back and faced Audrey. "Do you have any idea where we are going to?"
She nodded. "Mashup village."
Damien frowned."Yes. And if you aren't aware, let me tell you this. The village is currently filled with monsters. It's dangerous."
Audrey wore a pointed look as if to say that was what I have been telling you.
